Payal Rohatgi and Sangram Singh's marriage has once again come under public scrutiny, with fresh speculation about a possible split. The actress has resigned as director of her husband's charitable trust, citing 'personal reasons," and shared the update via an official Instagram post.
Payal dropped a picture of her resignation letter, which read, 'I hereby tender my resignation from the position of Director of Sangram Singh Charitable Foundation with immediate effect due to personal reasons." She added, 'I request the Board to kindly accept my resignation and take the necessary steps to file the requisite forms with the Registrar of Companies. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to be associated with the Foundation, and I wish the organization continued success in all its endeavors."
Her cryptic caption, 'Sometimes peace looks like distance," has only intensified rumours that all is not well in her marriage with the wrestler. Although neither Payal nor Sangram has officially confirmed a separation or divorce, social media users were quick to connect the dots.
Back in December 2024, a video of the couple went viral in which Payal was seen having a heated argument with Sangram Singh. In the video, she accused him of mistreating her for not being able to conceive a child. She also criticised his family for holding regressive views on women, alleging they believed women were only meant to cook, bear children, and remain in a ghunghat.
Payal was heard saying, 'Tumhare ghar mein aurato ke sath aise baat ki jaati hai. Tum log padhe-likhe nahi ho theek hai, par aise baat ki jaati hai." She also warned Sangram to never again taunt her about not becoming a mother.
Payal and Sangram tied the knot on July 9, 2022, in an intimate ceremony in Agra after dating for several years. While they had often spoken about their deep bond and mutual respect, recent developments suggest growing personal differences.
