‘Hand-wrote 900 pages, Netflix ghosted me' reveals Anurag Kashyap, calls it his biggest heartbreak
Anurag Kashyap revealed that he hand-wrote a 900-page script of the Maximum City adaptation for over one and a half years. However, he hasn't received any response from the Netflix team to date. Kashyap expressed, 'I had invested over one and a half years in Maximum City. I handwrite my scripts. I handwrote 900 pages. So when you put so much effort into a project, and for others it's just a matter of… like you can't evaluate that in money. Somebody just to save their jobs puts it aside and ghosts you… It breaks you.'
Known for several popular Hindi movies, Anurag Kashyap revealed how Netflix ghosted him. 'It was supposed to be a Netflix project, and they ghosted me. They didn't even dare to walk up to me and tell me that 'we are having a problem. Can we solve it?' or even 'We are not doing it.' They didn't have the courage. I don't know if they can bring it back. There's a whole policy. I don't understand it," he added.
Anurag Kashyap claims Ted Sarandos didn't know India
Anurag underlined that this behavior of Netflix India team angrers him the most. He said that it was his years of emotional investment but they didn't consider to say no. The filmmaker further stated that it's the reason why he fell sick.
While referring to his social media post for Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos, Kashyap claimed that he doesn't even understand India. 'I wrote about Ted Sarandos; he does not understand India. What the India office tells them, they believe that bulls**t. They are doing exactly what bad television was doing to India. And they are charging money for it. They don't understand why they are losing value in the country," the actor concluded.
On the work front, Anurag Kashyap recently served as the executive producer of Stolen. He has multiple films in the pipeline, including Kennedy, Nisanchi, and a film with Bobby Deol.

Maalik Box Office Collection Day 4: Rajkummar Rao's film is still Rs 40 crore short of recovering its budget
Rajkummar Rao's foray into the gangster genre, Maalik, opened to a lukewarm response from audiences on its first day. However, the film witnessed modest growth over the weekend, earning an estimated Rs 14.25 crore in India. And now, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, Maalik has collected around Rs 1.65 crore on its fourth day (Monday), bringing its total domestic collection to approximately Rs 15.90 crore. The film recorded an overall 9.54% Hindi occupancy on day four. It began on a disappointing note, with only 5.12% occupancy in the morning shows. The trend remained relatively flat throughout the day, with afternoon and evening shows recording 9.54% and 10.01% respectively. The night shows peaked slightly at 13.49%. Interestingly, Tier-2 cities like Jaipur and Lucknow were among the strongest markets for the film, registering occupancies of 15.25% and 13.25% respectively. In contrast, traditionally strong territories such as Delhi-NCR and Mumbai lagged behind with 9.75% and 12.00% respectively. Also Read | Rajkummar Rao says he was 'at the centre of Gangs Of Wasseypur', script was changed: 'Anurag Kashyap said tera role nahi bacha' Maalik has, however, outperformed other new Hindi releases of the week, most notably Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan, starring Vikrant Massey and debutante Shanaya Kapoor. That film has managed to earn only around Rs 20 lakh on day four, with its four-day total hovering near Rs 1.35 crore, a major blow for a project reportedly made on a budget of Rs 50 crore. Despite this edge, Maalik is trailing behind Rajkummar Rao's previous releases. His recent sports drama Mr & Mrs Mahi had crossed Rs 19 crore in its first four days, while Bhool Chuk Maaf earned over Rs 30 crore in the same time frame. Maalik is also contending with stiff competition from Superman, which remains the top choice among moviegoers and has raked in over Rs 28.25 crore in just four days. Other releases still holding ground in their second week, like Metro… In Dino, are also posing a challenge, with collections inching closer to the Rs 40 crore mark. With minimal word-of-mouth buzz and largely negative reviews from critics, Maalik faces an uphill climb to recover its reported budget of Rs 54 crore.

UK singer Rameet Sandhu on adjusting to rural lifestyle for Rannvijay Singha's 'Chhoriyan Chali Gaon'
The series follows urban women as they adapt to rural life. In an exclusive interview, Sandhu opened up about the challenges she faced while adjusting to the new environment. When asked about the challenges, Rameet shared, 'I don't think exploring a rural life will be too tough. I really enjoy Indian food when I get the chance to eat it—but I don't know how to cook yet. So, I'll learn everything there. The food will be fresh, and that's exciting.' 'We live in cities where everything moves so fast—constant noise, pollution, chaos. But in the village, I expect peace. And the most important thing for me is being able to connect and talk to the villagers. That human connection is what I'm really looking forward to.' Revealing what made her say yes to the reality show, the singer mentioned, 'Actually, this is my very first reality show. And Zeek is such a big name, so honestly, I couldn't say no. The concept itself is so unique. I was born in the UK and currently live in Dubai—and now I'm heading to a village! That's a major shift, a complete challenge for me. And I really enjoy taking on challenges in life.' Rameet Sandhu also shared her thoughts on embracing a completely new lifestyle. Coming from the UK, she revealed that she's put in a lot of effort to adjust to rural life, even going the extra mile to learn Hindi. 'I'm heading into village life now,' she said, adding that all she needs is the audience's love and support as she takes on this new challenge. 'Chhoriyan Chali Gaon,' an upcoming rural adventure reality show, is produced by Banijay Asia in collaboration with Zee TV. The show is inspired by the hit Zee Marathi series 'Jau Bai Gaavat.'
