Michel-Ange Balikwisha (c), has been a key man for Royal Antwerp

So far Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan, Callum Osmand, Benjamin Nygren, Hayato Inamura and Shin Yamada have arrived at Celtic Park in the current window.
But one name who's been mentioned in connection with a move to the Parkhead club long before some of them is Royal Antwerp winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha.
Celtic have been tracking him for over a year now but the speculation has intensified in the past couple of months.
Indeed, Balikwisha missed training last week amid the ongoing interest from the Hoops.
That came after reports suggesting a deal was close and that Celtic were ready to offer up a hefty sum to land the winger.
But he has been used in pre-season friendlies by boss Stef Wils and scored in a recent win over Willem II.
But the Antwerp manager, who is fearing a fire sale at the club as they desperately look to raise funds, concedes they may have to cash in on Balikwisha.
When asked directly about the possibility of selling the 24-year-old forward, he said: "That's possible, yes.
"I'm just working with the guys who are here at the moment. They all have the qualities to play here, so it would be foolish not to use them."
Balikwisha started his professional career with Standard Liege, scoring nine goals in 40 appearances during his breakout 2020-21 season.
Former Celtic star Greg Taylor stuns PAOK team-mates as he belts out Abba tune for his initiation song
He played over 40 games in two of the last three seasons, with injuries limiting his playing minutes during the most recent campaign.
But the Belgian still managed four goals in 16 matches.
The fee is as yet unknown. Balikwisha is in the last year of his contracr and valued at around £6m by Transfermarkt.

Callum McGregor plots Celtic road ahead as Brendan Rodgers car Q&A gets his skipper thinking
The skipper isn't planning on hanging up his boots any time soon but his manager was keen to know what the future looks like Callum McGregor still has plenty in the tank at Celtic but the car journey up from the airport in Milan to the Hoops camp at Lake Como has got the skipper thinking about the road ahead, w rites Michael Gannon in Como It might have been turning 32-year-old in June, or it might have just been the chance to pick the brains of his boss Brendan Rodgers for the hour journey, but the playmaker arrived in town with thoughts of the future on his mind. Let's get one thing straight. McGregor is going nowhere any time soon. He missed just three games all of last season and showed no signs of his sky high standards slipping. The midfielder has also returned to pre-season looking like a Rolls Royce, running the show against Newcastle United at the weekend. Yet McGregor knows at some point he'll reach a fork in the road but this is a guy who has built a career seeing what is coming around corners. He said: 'We just got chatting in the car about different things. We talk about football all the time anyway. 'He was asking what I fancy doing after I finish playing, not that he was trying to retire me or anything! That's still a few years down the line. 'But I've always been involved in football, it's pretty much all I know. And I want to continue to be involved in that, whether that be coaching or managing. 'You don't quite know what's in store for you. I certainly want to stay in football. The next progression would be to do my badges and see how I like it. Then you just never know from there. 'But in terms of the chat with the manager, I think we often take things for granted. 'I was there staring the car with the gaffer on the way to the stadium and this is a guy who managed Liverpool and managed at Leicester and Celtic. 'That's invaluable information that people may never get to listen to. Even if nothing comes of it, there was a conversation that gave me an opportunity to learn. 'The conversation was one that not many people would ever get access to. 'He's got a very mentorship style, he loves helping players. 'He did that with me when we first met each other. 'It's been an amazing relationship and something that's been nurtured over time. We have a really good understanding with each other and what makes us tick is very similar. 'Over time the relationship grows and grows and I am really thankful to have someone like that in my career to try and help me as much as he can.' McGregor will keep his foot down as a player for the foreseeable though. He said: 'You just never know. I am going to continue to play and push my body as much as I possibly can. But at some point, that day will come. 'You want to be ready for that so you can decide what you do next. 'I think I missed three games last year. I feel good. I know what my body needs and I just keep churning out games.' Some games hurt more than others though, and the Scottish Cup Final was a sore one for the skipper. McGregor missed from the spot and was left in tears after losing his first ever final since he was a school kid. It's not a feeling he is used to and not one he wants to get used to. He said: 'I think everyone now knows, if they didn't know before, just how much it means to me. 'With the position you're in, you take the pressure, you take the responsibility. And it goes all the way through your life. 'You can't just switch it off. 'So it's a big pressure, but it's something I like and it's something I've thrived under and been successful more often than not. 'But when you have a sore one, it's a reminder of how you need to keep pushing, keep learning and keep getting better. 'And you hopefully minimise those down days. 'With someone like the manager, when something like that happens, you feel like you've let him down. 'You also feel like you've let the team, down and the you've let the club down. 'Like I say, you hold that responsibility so you can't just switch it off. You feel responsible in the good days and you feel responsible in the bad days as well. 'That's something I'm quite proud of, that I take so much pride in what I'm doing.' McGregor hit the beach after Hampden but it was family rallying round that eventually helped him off of his gloom. He said: 'You don't start enjoying your holiday, probably, until a couple of weeks after it. 'My family and the people close to me, they are there to support me in those times. They love you unconditionally of course, no matter what happens in the football pitch. 'Having their support in the immediate aftermath was very important because they're the ones who pick you back up and level you off. 'You're as low as can be, really. 'It's my whole life, it's my profession. It's what I pride myself on. So when you have a bad day you can't help but carry it with you for days and days and days. 'I think people think that we're robots. 'But we're not robots, we're human beings. And I think if anybody didn't know how much this club means to me before, then they probably do now. 'You can't turn the tap on and off. It's a 24 hour thing that you live with every single day. 'And my job is to make this club successful. So when that doesn't happen you feel responsible.'

Man Utd transfer news: Emi Martinez development as Ruben Amorim target takes action
Ruben Amorim's transfer plans are slowly coming together after finally sealing the £71m signing of Bryan Mbeumo, who joins as the club's second transfer of the summer after Matheus Cunha's arrival Manchester United have made their second signing of the summer after finally sealing a £71million move for Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo in another boost for Ruben Amorim 's hopes of a positive second season in charge. Amorim now has two new forwards to choose from after securing the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves earlier in the window and things are now looking up for the Red Devils. United are in the United States for the start of their pre-season tour and they have a chance to rebuild positively following their disastrous 2024-25 campaign that saw them finish 15th with 18 losses. There are still areas United want to strengthen - including a new goalkeeper and some new defenders - as Amorim looks to push the team closer towards the top of the Premier League table. With that in mind, Mirror Football has taken a look at the major Manchester United transfer news. Lammens instead of Martinez United have been alarmed by news that Andre Onana has suffered an injury set-back after tearing a hamstring and he looks likely to miss the start of the Premier League season. Back-up shot-stopper Altay Bayindir has been linked with an exit as he looks for more regular minutes, so Amorim will need a contingency plan in goal. Aston Villa's Emi Martinez has been line up as a possible option but United have already been rejected in a bid for the Argentine World Cup winner after proposing a loan deal. According to the Daily Mail, the offer from United was met with "incredulity" and was "rebuffed immediately", having only just signed a 12-month extension last year. United will have to look at alternate options and Royal Antwerp keeper Senne Lammens is emerging as a new candidate after his superb season in Belgian. Sammens has been linked with United in the past and Manchester Evening News have reported that he could be signed as a long-term replacement for Onana - though he would not be expected to start games regularly. It adds that he has limited senior experience at the top level but would still be a good prospect for the future, and one that would excite United fans who have grown concerned about Onana's inconsistency. Amorim target turns down Valencia deal A new midfielder is also on the agenda at United this summer after losing Christian Eriksen, while there are long term doubts about veteran Casemiro. United have reportedly targeted Javi Guerra, who has become a key member of the Valencia squad and started 31 of their 38 La Liga games last season. But the 21-year-old is said to have turned down the offer of a new deal with the Spanish club, according to Marca and has demanded "something better" amid interest from the Red Devils. It adds that United have been "keeping an eye on the player" and are "working behind the scenes" to bring him to Old Trafford. Valencia had promised to "create a sporting project around him" but that offer wasn't enough for Guerra, the report says. Guerra is currently valued at £17m, but Valencia won't entertain offers of below £23m because Villarreal are entitled to a 30 percent sell-on fee. It adds that United are willing to spend up to £21.6m on Guerra as Amorim looks to add more steel to his midfield. Mbeumo wants to emulate Ronaldo United's newest signing is hoping to follow in the footsteps of one of United's greatest players after putting pen to paper at Old Trafford - Cristiano Ronaldo. Mbeumo finally arrived through the door after talks with his old club Brentford dragged on for much of the summer and he has now spoke of how he idolised Ronaldo while he was growing up. Ronaldo scored a total of 145 goals for United across two spells but it was during his first stint at the club between 2003 and 2009 where he became a legend, helping the club win three Premier League titles and the Champions League. He also won the Ballon d'Or while at United and Mbeumo has now revealed he looked up to the Portuguese superstar when he was a child. "My first top was one with Ronaldo behind [on the back],' he said when asked to name his favourite player. "It changed the time. When I was really young, the two best footballers were Ronaldo and Messi. When I was growing up, Neymar. After that, it was Eden Hazard. "My dream was to become a football player and play for one of the biggest teams in the world. But when you're actually doing it, it's completely different." Rodgers issues stark Celtic reminder over 'domination' poser
The Parkhead boss was quizzed on how his side have "dominated" domestically in recent years but rebuffed the suggestion. But Rodgers was quick to insist his side didn't seize a treble last season as he set out his demand to improve in the 2025/26 campaign. [[Celtic]] lifted the Scottish Premiership title and the League Cup trophy last season but lost on penalties to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden. Despite a trophy-laden spell for Celtic in recent years, Rodgers voiced his confidence that his side would improve this season both in domestic and European action. Read more: "As a football club, we aim to improve every single season," said Rodgers when quizzed on domination in Scottish football. "We didn't dominate last year, we won two out of three trophies. "But also being in Europe and making sure we are competitive and challenging at that level is very important for us, consistently not just one season. "We believe we can be even better this season on the domestic front and also we can take those experiences that we have had over these last couple of seasons into Europe where we aim to perform very, very well. "Celtic is a huge club. You can never stand still. It moves at a really, really fast speed and you need to move with it and that is all abotu improving, all about developing. "And for me as a coach it is developing players to be the best they can be and hopefully then we see that in the team format."
