He put up a valiant effort in front of the 15,000-strong crowd.
But the Brummie could not prevent losing his 100 per cent winning record against arguably the greatest tennis player of all time.
Djokovic breezed through 6-3 6-2 6-0 in one hour 47 minutes.
Evans, though, was supported throughout the one-sided Wimbledon clash by his wife Aleah.
Aleah took her seat in the player box alongside the rest of Evans' team.
That included his coaching team and his dad who came back early from a golf trip in Wales to be there and watch the match.
Glamorous Aleah was on hand to celebrate her husbands' points - although one of his five games was completely missed by the BBC as the TV cameras bizarrely cut away to an empty studio and Henman Hill for three minutes during play.
But in truth there were slim pickings as Djokovic cruised past as Aleah and the others watched on helplessly.
According to Tennisfansite.com, Evans and Aleah met in 2017 when she was working in Winchcombe.
She was a constant source of support and encouragement throughout his 12-month drugs ban after a positive cocaine test result in the same year.

Julian Cash believes best is yet to come Lloyd Glasspool partnership
The dynamic duo have had a memorable grass court season so far, with wins at Queen's and Eastbourne under their belt, and carried their momentum into their contest against Bart Stevens and Vasil Kirkov, beating the duo 7-6(6) 6-4. But despite the result, Brighton's Cash believes he and Glasspool still have at least an extra gear to reach as they bid for a maiden Grand Slam win. "It's always tough to get through a first-round at a Grand Slam," said Cash. There was a lot of hope and expectation coming in but it was nice to get over the line." "We did a good job managing our bodies and we were able to bring some energy and play some good tennis in the right moment so it was a good match to get through. "I'm not saying we played badly at all but a few things we'd have liked to go our way didn't and staying true to our identity and holding serve throughout and putting pressure on at every single game is why we come through those matches. "Every match brings a different challenge, different opponent, different things you need to do. It's just managing all the things going on." Glasspool added: "It wasn't our best stuff today but these rounds are just about getting through them and finding a way and we did that. That's the main thing and I'm pleased we did. We're hoping for it to get naturally better every round which it normally does. "It doesn't come much bigger on the tennis calendar than Wimbledon, especially for players hailing from British shores. With family and friends courtside, Cash admitted he revelled in every second spent under the sun. "We had a packed court at 11am which was great," said Cash. "The sun was out and it was nice to be out there. It helped us a bit today. "We were a bit flat out there at moments and went through adversity and the crowd were very helpful. It gives you a bit of a push and something else to fight for and you want to put on a bit of a show as well." Cash and Glasspool are next in action on Friday, where they take on Hendrik Jebens and Albano Olivetti. For the latest action on the British summer grass court season, check out the LTA website.

Rachel Brosnahan oozes sophistication in a lacy blazer mini-dress as she joins Superman co-stars David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult for a London photocall
Rachel Brosnahan oozed sophistication in a lacy blazer mini-dress as she joined her Superman co-stars at a London photocall. The American actress, 34, who plays Lois Lane in the film, was joined by David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult - who play Superman and Lex Luthor respectively. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star looked effortlessly chic as she posed for snaps at London's Corinthia Hotel on Thursday. For the photocall, Rachel donned a black short-sleeved blazer-style belted mini-dress, complete with a lace and white tulle lining. She paired the garment with simple black sunglasses and heels and slicked her dark locks into a low ponytail. Meanwhile her co-star David looked dapper as he arrived in a light brown tailored suit, with a white shirt and navy tie. And British star Nicholas, who rose to fame in E4's Skins, opted for a more casual affair in a white t-shirt, baggy leather jacket and beige tailored trousers - as he continued to show off her newly-bleached hair. Nicholas, 35, plays Lex Luthor in the new Superman movie and has been promoting the film over the last few days across the globe. It comes after Rachel stunned in a glittering cut-out red dress as she led the stars at a Superman fan event in London on Wednesday night. She commanded attention in the tight number which showed off her toned figure, while co-star David sweetly kissed her hand as they posed on the red carpet. Meanwhile Nicholas, who has sported dark, short hair since his breakout Skins role in 2007, continued to show off his dyed blonde locks. One of the most hotly anticipated films of the year is almost here, and the countdown to Superman has DC fans on the edge of their seats. With opening night just weeks away, excitement is reaching fever pitch as audiences prepare to witness the dawn of a new era in the DC Universe. All eyes are on writer-director James Gunn and new star David Corenswet, tasked with reintroducing the Man of Steel to cinemagoers, as Superman launches 'Gods and Monsters,' the first chapter in the rebooted DC Universe. She paired the garment with simple black sunglasses and heels and slicked her dark locks into a low ponytail Meanwhile her co-star David looked dapper as he arrived in a light brown tailored suit, with a white shirt and navy tie The newly imagined superhero story by James, who helmed Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, promises epic action as well as humour and heart. Fans got their first taste of the reboot at CinemaCon 2025, where early footage hinted at a Superman that feels both fresh and nostalgic. The trailers show that the films honours the legacy of the classic comics and beloved films of the Silver Age era of the 1950s through 1970s. Marking a shift from the darker tone of recent iterations led by Henry Cavill, this new take embraces a brighter aesthetic and a more hopeful, morally grounded hero: a Superman who's driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind. Starring in the dual role of Superman and Clark Kent, David made a name for himself in Ryan Murphy 's series The Politician, which he followed up with roles in Pearl, Hollywood and Twisters. Lois Lane is portrayed by Rachel, who starred in the much acclaimed series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel from 2017 to 2023. And Skins actor Nicholas plays Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor. The storyline is being kept tightly under wraps by DC Studios, however the latest trailer reveals that Superman's initiative in stopping a war is attracting criticism from the public and the ire of the government, which views his actions as meddling in international affairs. We also know from previous comments by James, that the film will explore Superman's struggle to 'reconcile his Kryptonian legacy with his human upbringing in Smallville, Kansas'. While a host of DC characters are set to appear— including Green Lantern, Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho and Supergirl— James has confirmed that this movie is no ensemble piece a la Justice League, and will centre on the key players Clark Kent/Superman, Lois Lane and Lex Luthor. The cast of supporting characters includes Dora and the Lost City of Gold star Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, X Men: First Class actor Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific and Guardians of the Galaxy's Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern. This year marks a new dawn for the DC Universe under the stewardship of James and co-CEO of DC Studios Peter Safran, with Superman the first live action project to be unveiled. The universe's foundational blockbuster is expected to set the tone for upcoming spin-offs, sequels and ensemble projects as the DCU reestablishes itself in cinema with fresh takes on characters and storylines. Upcoming DC movies in the works include Batman film The Brave and the Bold, reported to be in early development. This Batman is separate from the current franchise starring Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight. TV series Lanterns is currently filming and is expected to be released in 2026. Supergirl: World of Tomorrow, starring the Australian star of Sirens and House of the Dragon Milly Alcock, has wrapped filming and is slated for a 2026 release in cinemas. So diehard DC Comics fans have plenty to be excited about, and Superman is just the beginning. To secure your seat on opening weekend, fans can pre-purchase tickets now by visiting the website. Superman is only in cinemas from July 10.

Iga Swiatek fights back to reach Wimbledon third round
Four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek avoided joining Wimbledon's lengthy list of fallen seeds by stylishly battling back to beat world number 208 Caty McNally. The 24-year-old – a five-time major winner, having also claimed the 2022 US Open title – was in danger of seeing her comparatively woeful SW19 record continue after blowing a 4-1 lead to drop the opening set. Advertisement But she responded impressively in the Centre Court sunshine to prevail 5-7 6-2 6-1 in two hours and 25 minutes. Reigning champion Barbora Krejcikova and 2022 winner Elena Rybakina also progressed to round three on day four of the Championships. World number four Swiatek was Wimbledon girls' champion in 2018 but has only a single quarter-final appearance at the senior level of the tournament on an otherwise-impressive CV. With the women's draw wide open following the elimination of five of the top 10 seeds, including last year's runner-up Jasmine Paolini and current French Open champion Coco Gauff, the clay-court specialist was in serious danger of becoming the latest scalp. Advertisement American McNally, who had a career-high ranking of 54 prior to recent injury issues and beat Britain's Jodie Burrage in round one, stunned her rival by winning six of seven consecutive games to snatch the first set. Defending champion Barbora Krejcikova progressed in three sets (Jordan Pettitt/PA) Yet the 23-year-old was victorious in only three more as Pole Swiatek marched on to a meeting with former Australian Open finalist Danielle Collins after finishing with an ace. Earlier, title holder Krejcikova overcame Caroline Dolehide 6-4 3-6 6-2 to set up a clash with 10th seeded American Emma Navarro, who wasted little time in dispatching Russian Veronika Kudermetova 6-1 6-2. World number 11 Rybakina defeated Maria Sakkari 6-3 6-1, while 18-year-old seventh-seed Mirra Andreeva beat Lucia Bronzetti 6-1 7-6 (7-4). Advertisement Italian world number 116 Elisabetta Cocciaretto backed up her shock success against third seed Jessica Pegula with a 6-0 6-4 triumph over American Katie Volynets Dayana Yastremska, who knocked out Gauff, came from behind to edge past Anastasia Zakharova 5-7 7-5 7-6 (8). Russian pair Ekaterina Alexandrova and Liudmila Samsonova, seeded 18th and 19th respectively, each enjoyed straight-sets victories. Canadian lucky loser Victoria Mboko, 18, lost to Hailey Baptiste of the United States. Advertisement
