Why Teens Are Talking About ‘Jet2 Holidays' Right Now

Yahoo5 days ago
If you have teens in your life — or are just as chronically online as we are! — then you've probably heard, 'Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday!' repeatedly lately. Teens love repeating this phrase on TikTok and IRL, but no, it has nothing to do with promoting the airline company Jet2.
Middle school teacher Mr. Lindsay, aka, the guru of all things teen slang, gave his weekly update on what kids are saying right now. Along with, 'I'm a Mommy' and 'Mamacita' from Love Island and Justin Bieber's, 'It's not clocking to you,' Mr. Lindsay quotes, 'Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday, where you can save £50 per person.'

What? Why have teens locked in on this ad? It's actually just one of those random things, and the resulting videos are actually pretty funny.
According to Know Your Meme, this phrase comes from a YouTube ad for a British airline. The ad, set to 'Hold My Hand' by Jess Glynne, features a British female voice saying the phrase Mr. Lindsay quotes. The sound went viral on TikTok, where teens started sharing videos of chaotic, underwhelming, dangerous, or stupid scenarios set to the sound.
So far, 1.6 million videos have been made with this sound on TikTok. This one shows a teen opening the curtains of a hotel room to reveal a tiny window. Like this one, where a kid was hit in the face by a fish or this one, where an elephant grabbed a girl around the mouth. It's silly and funny, and we love it.
'Chances are if you have a social media account and you live in 2025 on planet Earth, you've heard my voice,' the voice actor behind the viral sound, Zoë Lister, said in a TikTok video, adding that she is 'in a permanent state of stupid joy, slight anxiety and overwhelm, and 'What the f— is going on?'' We can only imagine hearing your own voice all over social media and hearing teens repeat it in life too.
This is just another silly teen slang trend, like meltmaxxing or 'holy airball.' For a complete guide on teen slang, visit our helpful article HERE.Best of SheKnows

Geezer Butler recalls seeing 'frail' Ozzy Osbourne at final Black Sabbath rehearsal

Bassist Geezer Butler has recalled how Ozzy Osbourne appeared "frail" at the rehearsal for Black Sabbath's final concert. Last week, a representative for the Osbourne family announced that the rock music icon had died at the age of 76. Just two weeks earlier, Ozzy had joined his bandmates, including Geezer - real name Terence Butler - drummer Bill Ward, and guitarist Tony Iommi, for a farewell spectacle held at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. "Then it was time for Ozzy to join us," he wrote in an essay for The Sunday Times. "I knew he wasn't in good health, but I wasn't prepared to see how frail he was. He was helped into the rehearsal room by two helpers and a nurse and was using a cane - being Ozzy, the cane was black and studded with gold and precious stones." Geezer went on to describe how Ozzy seemed to have little energy in the run-up to the show. "He didn't really say much beyond the usual greetings, and when he sang, he sat in a chair," the musician continued. "We ran through the songs, but we could see it was exhausting him after six or seven songs. We had a bit of a chat, but he was really quiet compared with the Ozzy of old." In addition, Geezer noted that the "strangest part" of the final concert performance was the "end". "Normally, we would all hug each other and take a bow to the audience," he explained. "But Ozzy was on his throne and we hadn't thought that out. What do we do? Tony shook his hand, I presented him with a cake, but it was such a strange feeling to end our story like that. I wish I'd had more time backstage with Ozzy, but wishes are redundant now." Elsewhere in the essay, Geezer insisted Ozzy had a "heart of gold" despite adopting the nickname "Prince of Darkness". "To me, Ozzy wasn't the Prince of Darkness - if anything, he was the Prince of Laughter. He'd do anything for a laugh, a born entertainer," he added.

Drake postpones concert due to 'travel logistics'

Drake has postponed his planned Manchester, England concert at the last minute due to "travel logistics". The One Dance rapper was scheduled to perform as part of his co-headlining concert tour with PartyNextDoor, titled Some Special Shows 4 U, at the Co-op Live arena on Monday night. However, a representative for the venue announced on Sunday evening that the show will now take place on 5 August. "Due to unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28th has been rescheduled," a post on the arena's website reads. "The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it's set to be an unforgettable night." All tickets remain valid for the new date. Drake has not yet commented on the news. The 38-year-old dropped the collaborative album, Some Sexy Songs 4 U, with fellow Canadian star PartyNextDoor, real name Jahron Brathwaite, in February. The Some Special Shows 4 U Tour marks his first trek of Europe in six years, following his Assassination Vacation Tour in 2019. Drake and PartyNextDoor will next play a trio of gigs at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam starting on 30 July.
