Mack Hansen a major doubt for first Lions Test as Ireland winger sits out training
Pressed on his absence, attack coach Richard Wigglesworth said that Hansen had picked up a foot injury in Saturday's win over the AUNZ invitational side and had not recovered in time for today's session.
The former England scrum-half said that Hansen is in the same boat as Blair Kinghorn, the Scotland full-back who also stayed out of the session. Garry Ringrose and Luke Cowan-Dickie have been ruled out with concussion.
'He hurt his foot in the game," Wigglesworth said of Hansen.
"I don't think it is anything serious but he was managed today.
"Hopefully he will be fully integrated pretty quickly. It is nothing that we are over concerned about but we need to make sure we have enough numbers at training but it doesn't look too serious.'
Pressed on whether Hansen would be fit for the first Test, Wigglesworth said: 'A bit like Blair, we will find out tomorrow, he didn't train fully today so we will know a bit more tomorrow.
"Every case is different.
"There are injuries you can play with and get on with. As a rugby player at the highest level, you're constantly doing that at this stage of the season. You'd be surprised if you ask any of them if they're all, on both teams, feeling 100pc.
"And then there's other injuries that you can't and that would be a risk and we certainly wouldn't be taking risks with players.'
Born in Canberra to an Irish mother and Australian father, Hansen has been a star on this tour and was right in the selection mix for the first game along with England's Tommy Freeman who now looks likely to get the No 14 shirt, with Hugo Keenan at full-back and James Lowe on the left wing.

Hansen's issue explains why Darcy Graham has been flown in to train with the squad ahead of his Scotland teammates Ewan Ashman and Rory Sutherland who join up with the squad on Sunday.
Jamie Osborne trained with the team today, while Thomas Clarkson and Jamie George are due in today.
"We need to make sure we're covered numbers-wise and for the games coming up,' Wigglesworth said of Graham's arrival.
"That was probably expedited a bit quicker because of Blair and Mack not being on feet today and potentially tomorrow.'
Andy Farrell names his team on Thursday.

‘If I make some birdies tomorrow, that would be the goal' — Pádraig Harrington two clear as he chases history in Senior Open
The Dubliner (53) insisted he is not comfortable with his game, but after making six birdies and just one bogey to lead by two shots on 13 under from Justin Leonard, he's not complaining. 'I still wasn't comfortable,' said Harrington, who admitted he had his share of luck in the second round. 'I thought I was getting better, but I don't think I rode my luck as much today. I wasn't out of position, but I certainly didn't play much better than yesterday. Maybe a little bit more cautious today.' The two-time Open champion birdied the fourth, ninth and 11th to get to 11-under and while he made his first bogey in 29 holes at the 12th, he recovered with birdies at the 13th, 14th and 18th. 'It's always nice to come back with a bounce back and a birdie,' he said. 'Believe it or not, I'd prefer to make a bogey and a birdie than two pars. 'I think when you can get caught in that sort of, I-haven't-made-a-bogey-for-a-while type thing, that can get in your head. So getting rid of that is not a bad thing. 'I'm happy enough if I make some birdies tomorrow; that would be the goal, and that's to try and keep making the birdies. 'There will be a few mistakes, but hopefully I'll make enough birdies to counteract that.' Thomas Bjorn lies just three strokes behind Harrington after 67, while Americans Clark Dennis and Kevin Sutherland, Australian Greg Chalmers and New Zealander Steven Alker are a further shot behind. Harrington has twice finished second in the Senior Open, but his biggest worry is not getting that monkey off his back but going out and playing freely. ADVERTISEMENT 'I don't feel very good about how I'm hitting the ball, so trying to get away from that and not worry so much about that because clearly I'm scoring well,' he said. 'You're better off shooting 13-under par and not feeling so good about it than thinking you're swinging it great and being level par. 'So I just need to go out and play and try golf tomorrow. Hit the right shot at the right time and not necessarily try and play swing.' As for becoming the fifth player after Gary Player, Bob Charles,Tom Watson and Darren Clarke – 43rd on level par after a 71 – to win both The Open and the Senior Open, he would not be drawn. 'I'm not going to think about that,' he said. 'Those are the sort of things that are getting ahead of yourself, and I'll wait till tomorrow to try and digest that.' Meanwhile, England's Lottie Woad carded a five under 67 to take a two-stroke lead as she bids to win the ISPS HANDA Women's Scottish Open on her professional debut at Dundonald Links. She leads on 17 under from Korea's Sei Young Kim and Denmark's Nanna Koerstz Madsen. 'Just going to try to shoot as low as possible and keep giving myself chances,' said Woad, who won the KPMG Women's Irish Open by six shots as an amateur earlier this month. 'If someone shoots the lights out, fair enough.' Leona Maguire shot a one-over 73 and goes into the final day tied for 18th on five under.

‘Irish Harry Kane' - Roma fans hail Ferguson as Ireland striker scores again
He's barely at the club a few days, but already fans of AS Roma are gushing over Evan Ferguson. The Ireland striker could hardly have asked for a better start when he scored four goals and produced one assist in a 9-0 thumping of Serie D side UniPomezia, which was played behind closed doors at the club's training ground. But Saturday's pre-season friendly away to Kaiserslautern, at a full Fritz-Walter Stadion, was always going to provide a much tougher test for the on-loan star. However, it didn't take Ferguson long to deliver. His 16th minute goal was enough to earn the Serie A side the win. And his overall performance, where he led a high press that new boss Gian Piero Gasperini brought with him from his former club Atalanta, brought him much love from the club's fantatical support base. Many took to social media to give their verdicts on the Irishman's display. Here are some of the highlights: 'Athletically not at their sharpest, as is expected at this stage of preparation, but man, I love the style of play. That man-to-man pressure, the compactness, etc ... Few risks conceded, interesting passing patterns. Ferguson is just a joy to watch!' 'Keep it up, Rome! Great job Ferguson' 'Our Irish Harry Kane' One fan even referenced the loan deal from Brighton, which has a €40million option to buy at the end of the season, writing: 'Sooooooooooooooo can we just buy him outright now?!' Another kept it simple, just posting, 'Evan', followed by 28 love heart emojis in Roma colours. Many Roma fans were producing Irish flag emojis - and after years of heartache, one wrote: 'Another goal from Ferguson. Is it already okay to get our hopes up?' Ferguson's arrival could spell bad news for Roma's 28-year-old Ukraine striker Artem Dovbyk. 'At 20 years old, (Ferguson) already shows character and desire. Honestly, it's very promising. The only doubt I have is that after a year of Dovbyk, seeing a striker who moves into spaces, attacks, and holds up the ball feels incredible. It's still too early to get carried away. But he looks promising.' Another posted: 'This year will be tough for Dovbyk. This guy (Ferguson) is really strong.' One asked: 'When is he being presented with the golden boot?' Other posts included: 'Mark my words, this season Evan Ferguson will make the difference in Italian League! Rt if you agree!' 'Evan Ferguson is in some the best hands for production and maximising attacking talent playing under Gasperini' 'Evan Ferguson bout to win serie a golden boot calling it now' 'I'm buying all the available Evan Ferguson stocks' 'I love Evan Ferguson in this team so much' Get the latest sports headlines straight to your inbox by signing up for free email .

Evan Ferguson scores fifth goal in two games for Roma to set up friendly win over Kaiserslautern
The Irish striker hit the ground running with his new club by scoring four times in a training ground success over Serie D opposition earlier this week. There was a dramatic contrast on Saturday afternoon as the 20-year-old was in a packed stadium, leading the line for Gian Piero Gasperini's side against a side that is currently in the German second tier. He made the most of the opportunity by capitalising on a first half goalkeeping error by Julian Krahl to win possession and slot the ball into the empty net. Ferguson was replaced after an hour. His next game will be against Cannes on Thursday.
