Iraq revives 5 idle oil wells
In a statement, the company announced that wells 27, 42, 23, 20, and 69 were successfully brought back online after a series of technical inspections and operational adjustments to clear blockages and reopen valves.
"The process was completed smoothly, in full compliance with the highest safety and quality standards,' it said.
The statement said that the reactivated wells will contribute an additional 2,500 bpd to the field's output, significantly enhancing its overall production capacity.
The Jambur North field produces between 10,000 and 15,000 bpd, though output levels fluctuate depending on operational conditions and the number of active wells.

Dubai is testing a new system where your traffic fines might just delay your visa renewal—unless you settle them first. Don't panic though, it's not a full-on block. Instead, the system gives you a friendly nudge (or push) to clear your dues before your residency gets updated. It's a Reminder, Not a Roadblock According to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), the goal isn't to make your life harder. Lt Gen Mohammed Al Marri, GDRFA's chief, explained that this pilot system is simply there to remind you to pay your traffic fines. It doesn't stop your visa from being renewed—but it might slow things down unless you act. You Can Pay in Instalments Too Here's the good news: it's not a pay-all-or-nothing setup. If you're tight on cash, you can go for instalment plans. When you show up to process your residency papers, the system will show what you owe, and staff will walk you through how to settle it—all made to be user-friendly, they say. Still in Pilot Phase (So, Not Everywhere Yet) Right now, this traffic-fine-meets-visa system is still in its trial run. For example, if you're handling visa stuff at Dubai Airport's GDRFA centre, this rule won't apply just yet. Authorities say they've reviewed thousands of cases before rolling this out to make sure it works smoothly.

Space42 secures $695.5m to launch next-gen UAE satellites

The facility, arranged by Crédit Agricole CIB, Santander CIB, Societe Generale, and Natixis and backed by Bpifrance Assurance Export, demonstrates the company's continued appeal to leading international banks and will fund the satellites scheduled for launch in 2027 and 2028. The facility provides Space42 with cost-effective, long-term financing aligned with its satellite development timeline, whilst strengthening the company's liquidity position to support future growth initiatives. 'The Al Yah 4 and Al Yah 5 programme is underpinned by a 17-year, $5.1bn government contract commencing in 2026 and advances our goal to become the trusted leader in secure connectivity by providing multi-path critical connectivity solutions,' said Andrew Cole, chief financial officer of Space42. 'This strategic pillar focuses on enhancing secure communication capabilities across defense and civil domains through multi-orbit satellite networks that ensure uninterrupted connectivity for mission-critical applications.
