Euro-Med Monitor: Dangerous Israeli escalation in Gaza amid unjustified International silence
Gaza – Saba:
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor stated on Saturday that the Israeli entity is escalating its genocide crimes in Gaza amid ongoing unjustified international silence.
In a statement, the Monitor reported that the Israeli army has recently intensified its direct and deliberate attacks on Palestinian civilians, with an increasing focus on targeting shelters and displacement tents, according to the Palestinian news agency "Safa."
It noted that Israeli warplanes today launched a series of violent airstrikes on densely populated residential areas in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, killing more than 23 civilians, including children and women.
The Monitor emphasized that Israel's escalation is part of a systematic policy to undermine the foundations of life in Gaza, within the framework of a genocidal campaign aimed at eliminating Palestinian existence and depopulating the Strip.
It further pointed out that the increasing intensity of Israeli bombardment coincides with continued mass killings of starving Palestinians near aid distribution centers, which the army has imposed in central and southern Gaza.
The statement stressed that all relevant countries and entities must uphold their legal , moral responsibilities and act urgently to stop the genocide in the Gaza Strip.
With American and European support, the Israeli army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 56,412 Palestinian civilians, most of them children and women, and 133,054 injuries so far. These figures remain non-final, as thousands of victims are still trapped under rubble or in the streets, unreachable by rescue and medical teams.

Trump, Bond Market, and Uncertainty in US Economy
Sana'a – Saba: Treasury bonds pose a serious challenge to the US economy, given the increasing deficit ratios in the face of public debt, this can be clearly seen in the fluctuations in Treasury bond prices there. Uncertainty Here, we must ask what are the reasons behind the fluctuations in Treasury bond prices that the United States is experiencing? Journalist and economic analyst Rashid Al-Haddad told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba): The most important reasons behind the fluctuations in the US Treasury bond market are the loss of confidence of investors in US bonds in the stability of economic policies under US President Donald Trump. Trump has taken a number of economic measures, most notably the tariff war, which led to the collapse of US stock markets and also affected the bond market, due to its negative repercussions on US and global markets. This resulted in widespread trade disruptions and raised investor fears of a return to the Great Recession in America, especially since the effects of the tariffs were evident on American consumers, but, contrary to expectations, they did not have a positive impact on the performance of the US economy. In addition to Trump's move to lower interest rates to less than 5%, another factor is the anticipation of American and foreign investors, whether countries or companies. Approximately $11 trillion, representing one-third of the US public debt, is due to mature in the coming period, amid the uncertainty facing the US economy under Trump. Maturity Debt A report by the US Treasury Department showed that the national debt has exceeded $36.22 trillion, and that the government needs to refinance to repay $11 trillion in maturing debt, nearly a third of the total, over the next 12 months. Here's the question: How challenging is this given the volatility in bond markets and rising yields? Journalist Al-Haddad explains: "So far, indications indicate that the Trump administration is unable to repay, and the options available to address this are economically costly. The Trump administration may resort to repurchasing maturing bonds at higher interest rates or negotiating with bondholders." Banks Central banks' holdings of US Treasury bonds decreased by $17 billion last week, and by $48 billion since late March 2025. What are the reasons and implications behind this? Al-Haddad believes that "the decline in banks' holdings stems from concerns over rising political and financial risks, which reinforces the feeling that US bonds are no longer the safe haven for investment they were in years, and that risk levels have become high. Consequently, banks are turning to diversifying their sovereign investments or increasing their gold reserves as a safe haven." Auction The $16 billion auction of 20-year US Treasury bonds with a yield of 5% is experiencing weak demand, reflecting a reluctance by foreign investors to purchase US bonds. What could this mean if it continues? Rasheed says the Trump administration may resort to this, especially since the outstanding bonds are decades old, and most of them were sold to raise funds for US-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, for example. Currencies The decline in the value of the dollar index against a basket of major currencies and the rise in US debt to approximately $37 trillion are putting upward pressure on interest rates on US bonds. Al-Haddad says that the decline in demand for the dollar ahead of any interest rate cut indicates a loss of investor confidence in the dollar and a shift towards gold. This also confirms that the risks of the repercussions of the interest rate cut will also be significant for the dollar price. In addition, Saudi Arabia increased its holdings of US Treasury bonds to $2.2 billion in April 2025. Al-Haddad believes this percentage is small: Saudi Arabia has recently reduced its investment in US bonds, unlike in previous years, and even if Saudi Arabia's new investments in bonds are small compared to other countries. What did Zionist entity achieve through its aggression against Iran?
Sana'a – Saba: According to Israeli statements, it is clear that the entity placed the primary objective of its aggression against Iran on its missile force, considering long-range ballistic missiles a strategic threat to its capabilities, this was achieved during the 12-day war, when the Iranian missile force dominated the airspace of the occupied Palestinian territories, and the entity's air defense system was shattered on the ground. Before and after this, the entity's superior ability to target the enemy's strategic military capabilities was reduced to rubble under Iranian missile strikes. Since its inception, the entity had never been subjected to a military strike like that achieved by Iranian ballistic missiles, the enemy was aware of the danger of Iran's missile force, and therefore worked to target it from its first raids. However, throughout the war, it was unable to achieve even a single target from the Iranian aerospace forces' stockpile and platforms. On the contrary, this force continued to dominate throughout the war, stripping the enemy of most of its advantages, transforming it within hours from attack to defense. For 12 days, the Zionist raids have been unsuccessfully attempting to reach Iranian missile depots, stations, and platforms, they know that Iran possesses a massive stockpile of such weapons, enhancing its capabilities and giving it a significant advantage over the Israeli entity. This is evident in the continued, intensive missile launches from Iran toward the entity, conducted twice daily, this achieved qualitative control and precise targeting, this was in addition to their ability to reach targets quickly and penetrate and exhaust air defense systems, this led to the testing of various levels of these missiles, which Iran used for the first time in this war. For 12 days, Tehran sent out intensive missile waves, and not a single day of the war saw a decrease in these waves, this exhausted and weakened the enemy, forcing America to intervene and target three Iranian nuclear facilities. Despite the American intervention, the missile waves were not affected or diminished. Rather, they remained regular throughout the war, confirming Iran's superiority in its war strategy, with their extensive arsenal, Israel and America were unable to target or influence Iran's missile force until the ceasefire agreement was announced. Among the most prominent missiles that demonstrated Iran's impressive capabilities in this war were third-generation missiles, including the Khaybar Shekan and Khorramshahr-4 missiles, among others, these are surface-to-surface ballistic missiles that reflect the superiority of the IRGC's aerospace forces, clearly demonstrating themselves in this war, they underscored why Israel treated Iran's missile force as a strategic target and why it failed to defeat them. Indeed, these missiles actually damaged Israel, forcing it to request a ceasefire. The Khaybar Shekan, or "Khaybar Breaker," is a solid-fueled strategic surface-to-surface ballistic missile manufactured by the IRGC's aerospace force, it is considered one of Iran's third-generation long-range missiles, it is merely an example of Iran's superiority in long-range missile launches, and it also demonstrates that there are missile capabilities that Iran has not revealed during this war.
