Vadnagar denizens set Guinness World Record
The record-setting initiative was organised by the Gujarat Yog Board in association with the Ministry of Ayush. Vadnagar, birthplace of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, provided a fitting and symbolic backdrop for the achievement, drawing participants from across the state. More than 1,000 people came together at the picturesque Tana-Riri Garden in Vadnagar to perform the Bhujangasana simultaneously under the guidance of certified yoga instructors.
The performance was conducted in strict adherence to the guidelines laid down by the Guinness World Records, ensuring precision, synchronisation and authenticity. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi joined the participants, performing the cobra pose alongside them. Their participation and encouragement played a key role in galvanising the public and reinforced the state government's commitment to yoga and traditional wellness practices.
The successful record execution was spearheaded by Nischal Barot, a leading Guinness World Records consultant and founder of Kemi's Connect.

The state visit, beginning in Ghana and ending in Namibia, underscores India's renewed commitment to Africa and the broader Global South framework. On the other hand, high-level cross-continental itinerary, spanning Latin America to Africa, highlights India's strategic intent to rekindle historic ties and build solidarity among Global South nations — especially at a time when the G77, the largest bloc of developing nations, is seen as increasingly irrelevant. PM Modi's State visit to sub-Saharan region is came at a time when several other western leaders were scheduled or expected to visit the sub-Saharan region. Around the same time, Washington is engaging the West African leaders and contemplating new ways to strengthen ties with Africa, unnerved by Chinese influence in the continent. Although India has historic ties with Namibia – there's a serious gap in State level visit and this heads of government level visit occurs after 27 years. Sam Nujoma, the leader of SWAPO (the party behind independence struggle) and founding president of Namibia, who visited India several times acknowledged India's help during the liberation process. During his visit, PM Modi was conferred with the Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis, Namibia's highest civilian award. Udaipur Files row: Producer Amit Jani accorded CRPF Y-category security; had alleged threats to his life
Amit Jani (Image courtesy: X) NEW DELHI: The central government on Sunday provided Y- CRPF security to Amit Jani, the producer of the upcoming film Udaipur Files, following his claims of threats to his life. The security cover will be applicable in both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, officials told news agency ANI. Jani, who also heads the Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena, a right-wing outfit, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah for the decision. "Heartfelt thanks to honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and home minister Shri Amit Shah ji for providing Y-category security from the Center," he wrote on X. Udaipur Files is based on the 2022 killing of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, Rajasthan — a murder which drew national outrage. Originally scheduled to release on July 11, the film ran into legal and censorship issues. It will now release on August 8. The Delhi high Court dad earlier stayed Udaipur Files' release despite censor board clearance, citing potential risks to communal harmony.

Attack during Modi's ‘Mann Ki Baat' programme in Tripura leaves seven BJP workers injured
GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' programme at a Tripura village turned violent on Sunday, when an alleged group of Tipra Motha Party (TMP) 'goons' attacked BJP workers, leaving at least seven of them injured. TMP denied its involvement. TMP and BJP are allies and constituents of the state government. The incident occurred at the Taksapara village falling under the Asharambari Assembly constituency in Khowai district. Around 30 BJP workers had assembled at the place to listen to Modi. The injured were admitted to the Khowai district hospital. The condition of two was reportedly critical. About 15 bikes and two cars were also damaged by the attackers. Authorities deployed a large number of security personnel to the place after the incident. No arrest was made when reports last came in.
