Rakul slams rumor about getting house gift from politician
Though Rakul didn't name the politician, the speculation had earlier linked her to ex-Telangana minister KTR. Speaking about it, Rakul said, 'The weirdest rumor is that my house was gifted to me. But the truth is, my father did all the paperwork and bought it. He was extremely hurt that people would say such things when it was our hard-earned money.'
Rakul also revealed that her father was upset enough to urge her to respond publicly.
'He asked me to give a clarification, but I told him I can't keep reacting to every false rumor,' she added. At the time, her father even issued a press statement to counter the speculation.
On the professional front, Rakul is gearing up for the release of De De Pyaar De 2 and the much-anticipated Indian 3. Though her presence in Telugu cinema has lessened, her Bollywood journey continues to pick up pace.

New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday demanded former Union Minister and ex-Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, an OBC leader from Telangana, be made the Vice President of India. He said the post should be given to Telangana as Telugu was the second-most spoken language in the country, and justice to the native speakers must be done. Meanwhile, he termed as "unfortunate" the resignation of former vice president Jagdeep Dhankhar. "The next Vice President should be from Telangana. Telangana deserves its due. You cannot do so much injustice to the people of Telangana. Telugu is the second most spoken language in India after Hindi, and then comes Bengali. Injustice has been done to our people. "I have demanded that the NDA government appoint Bandaru Dattatreya as the next Vice President of India. If Dattatreya is made the vice president, then some of your sins will be forgiven," the Congress leader told reporters here. Mr Dattatreya was the Haryana governor during 2019-2021. He was made the governor of Himachal Pradesh in July 2021 and vacated that post on July 21 this year. Mr Reddy said he proposed Mr Dattatreya's name because there is so much talk about OBCs these days, and Dattatreya, an OBC, was removed from the post of governor. He said Bandi Sanjay was also axed as the BJP president of Telangana, as he termed both these leaders the main face of Telugu OBCs. "They sent a person of Telugu-speaking person back home from Delhi (referring to former VP M Venkaiah Naidu). Then they removed Bandaru Dattatreya as governor and then removed Bandi Sanjay as Telangana BJP president," said Mr Reddy, attacking the BJP-led Centre. Asked if the Congress would support Mr Dattatreya's candidature, he said, "I will try and help Bandaru Dattatreya, and I will also request my leadership to support him too, but the Congress leadership will take a call on it." Mr Reddy also alleged that the country is in danger till the NDA government is in power, and it has to be removed.

Exclusive: Pawan Kalyan says neither ‘Hindutva hero' nor ‘power star' defines him
Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan said that he is equally at ease both in his political role and as an actor, and that neither persona — be it the 'Hindutva hero' nor 'power star' — fully defines him. In an exclusive interview with India Today, Kalyan spoke about his upcoming film 'Harihara Veera Mallu', his political ideology, his cultural roots, and the way he sees his identity reflected in both cinema and don't consider myself either as a Hindutva hero or as a power star,' he said. 'Whatever comes my way, I try to give my best. I'm comfortable as a leader, I'm comfortable as a Deputy Chief Minister... Whatever the situation demands out of me, I give my 100%.'Kalyan's latest Telugu film 'Harihara Veera Mallu' features him as a warrior tasked with retrieving the Kohinoor diamond from Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. While Aurangzeb is the antagonist, Kalyan maintains that the film is a work of fiction inspired by historical elements. 'It is a fictitious story... about a character called Harihara Veeramallu, who goes all the way to Delhi to bring back Kohinoor. It is a rivalry between Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah and Aurangzeb,' he explained. When asked if his portrayal of Mughal rulers as villains aligned with a political narrative or popular box office formula, Kalyan said any resemblance was coincidental. 'This plot was conceived by the scriptwriter-director Krish Jagarlamudi around 2018. We didn't even have a BJP alliance then,' he said. He added that it was not about recent developments or ideology, but a story that had been in the works for years, centred on the historical Kohinoor diamond which was found in Kollur Mine in the Golconda region, which is now in Andhra Pradesh. Still, Kalyan asserted the need for a more balanced view of history. 'Definitely we should look at the Mughals more objectively,' he said, recalling how school textbooks focused heavily on the 'pious' side of Aurangzeb but omitted his repressive policies, including the jizya tax imposed on non-Muslims. 'They could have presented both good and bad... not just one side.'Asked about his Janasena Party's future in Tamil Nadu, where he has made several recent visits, Kalyan said he is not in a hurry to expand for political gain. 'To develop a party takes a long time and deep commitment,' he said. 'For me, my party should advance interests for cultural and national integration, not just to grab power.'Kalyan also reflected on his ideological journey — from admiring leftist figures like Che Guevara and Fidel Castro to supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I'd quit acting if I had steady income: Pawan Kalyan on balancing films, politics
Telugu superstar and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan spoke about the tough balance between his film career and political life. He said that even before joining films, his true passion was always public service and bringing social about the balancing act in an exclusive conversation with Rajdeep Sardesai, consulting editor, India Today TV and anchor Akshita Nandgopal, Kalyan said, "For me, my priority and my heart will always lie with social transformational politics, even before I entered cinema. I've been a socially conscious person since childhood. Films came to me later. It's quite a tough job (managing both films and politics). The tough part is - you fight against your rivals, talk about public policy, and then suddenly go back to cinema and try to shake a leg or deliver dramatic lines.
