Man from Bengal arrested for raping Tamil Nadu minor identified: Cops

Minor refuses to help increase Instagram followers, stabbed
New Delhi: A 16-year-old boy, with around 10,000 followers on Instagram, has been stabbed by another teenager for allegedly refusing to help him boost his Instagram following. Police have caught two accused. The police got a PCR call regarding a stabbing at Nangloi police station on July 20. When the law enforcers reached the hospital, they found out that the survivor of the stabbing was a 16-year-old boy who worked as a helper in a jewellery shop in Nangloi. DCP (outer) Sachin Sharma said: "When the complainant was on his way home, the (other) boy showed up with his friend. Upon alleged instigation from his friend, the boy went on to stab the complainant twice in his right hip and fled the spot." A case was registered under Sections 118 (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 3 (5) (common intention) of BNS at Nangloi police station. "After examining the CCTV footage and with the help of local informers, the two were identified. Upon visiting their residences, the police found that they had run away. Through sustained efforts and credible human intelligence, the team tracked down one accused in Sultanpuri," DCP Sharma said. Police, Glada demolish woman drug peddler's house
Times News Network Ludhiana: Police and officials of Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (Glada) demolished the house of a woman drug peddler from Malakpur village. The woman is currently lodged in jail. According to the police, she grabbed the land fraudulently and constructed a house on it illegally. The woman, Amarjeet Kaur, has six FIRs of drug peddling and liquor smuggling lodged against her. She was convicted in three cases, including one case of drug peddling and two cases of liquor smuggling. She was acquitted in one case. Deputy commissioner of police (DCP-investigation) Harpal Singh said that Amarjeet Kaur, fraudulently grabbed land which belonged to Paramjit Sharma of Haibowal. She paid Rs 50,000 advance to Sharma, while Rs 1.50 lakh was yet to be paid. However, she allegedly took possession of the land forcibly and constructed a house on 50 square yards.
