Actress
, popularly known for her role as Gunjan in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, talks about working on Television for years. She shared her experience as a TV actor.
She said, "What I truly believe is one of the greatest things about working in television is that it teaches you how to perform under intense pressure.

Whether it's the pressure of time, receiving scripts at the last minute, or having little to no preparation, television trains you to adapt quickly.
You learn to truly embody your character so deeply that even if something is thrown at you unexpectedly, you instinctively know how your character would respond. That's an incredible skill to develop."
She continued, "In fact, when you see an actor delivering a strong performance on television, it's important to recognize the level of discipline and talent that is required.
If someone is doing well in such a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, you can be sure they'll shine just as brilliantly—if not more—in mediums like OTT or film, where there's more time for rehearsal and character preparation."
She explained, "Television actors are constantly working against the clock. We often shoot an episode a day and sustain the same character over months or even years. To keep that character fresh, engaging, and emotionally consistent over such long periods takes a tremendous amount of craft.
So if someone can pull that off successfully, it says a lot about their calibre as an actor."
She added, "That's the beauty of television—it teaches you how to balance priorities, stay focused, and give your best under pressure. It's a tough space, but it builds you up in ways few other formats cant."
Talking ahead about her share of struggle she mentioned, "I've been in the industry for around 17 years now—first as a choreographer and then as a television actor, working across both fiction and non-fiction formats.

One of the biggest things I've observed over the years is the lack of proper guidance in the industry. When I started out, there was no structure at all. We didn't even know who to approach or how to go about things.
"
"While things are starting to become a bit more organized now, and I do see some positive changes happening, this gap in mentorship and structure has been a long-standing issue—not just in television, but across the entertainment industry as a whole.
The fact that things are slowly evolving is definitely a step in the right direction," she concluded.
She was last seen in
, and is also known for featuring in shows like Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, Dill Mill Gaye, Hamari Betiyoon Ka Vivaah, Kasamh Se. She also contested reality shows like Dance India Dance Li'l Masters 2, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8, Bigg Boss 9.

‘Sarzameen' movie review: Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kajol can't salvage this emotional misfire

Sulking sons, duty-bound fathers, and suffering mothers make for engaging Hindi cinema. This week, emerging director Kayoze Irani revisits familiar daddy issues with mixed results. Sarzameen's basic premise reminds me of Ramesh Sippy's Shakti, where circumstances force a father in uniform (Prithivraj Sukumaran) to choose between his son (Ibrahim Ali Khan) and his duty. Set in the picturesque political cauldron of Kashmir, the stakes get higher here when the neglected son stutters his way into the enemy camp led by dreaded militant Kabil (K.C. Shankar). As expected, the mother (Kajol) tries to be the connecting link, but a past that needs to be addressed remains unhealed, leaving wounds unresolved. Sarzameen (Hindi) Director: Kayoze Irani Cast: Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol, Ibrahim Ali Khan, K.C. Shankar Duration: 137 minutes Storyline: An army officer out to eliminate militancy in the Kashmir valley finds himself at a vortex where his principles are put to the test After preparing the audience for a realistic terrain, Irani takes mainstream leaps of faith, landing in no man's land. The film attempts to explore parenthood, patriotism, and militancy, but fails to effectively integrate the personal within complex socio-political dynamics, instead resorting to tropes that have become clichéd due to overuse. It seems the makers set out to map the complexity of militancy in the Kashmir valley through a personal story, but ended up making a safe product to populate the OTT shelf. Hence, the drama doesn't leap at you, the conflict doesn't engage you enough, the suspension of disbelief doesn't hold, and the layers in the story don't add up to create an emotional swell. However, despite their immense talent, their chemistry doesn't click, and the melodrama falls short. Shankar is no Amrish Puri to generate the dread of revenge. For a script that demands a deep emotional commitment, Ibrahim Ali Khan, like the film, is undercooked. Sarzameen is currently streaming on Hotstar

‘Sarzameen' review: A dodgy premise with a ridiculous twist

Sarzameen briefly tries to distinguish itself from every other movie set in Kashmir that revolves around Army operations against terrorists. There's a direct link drawn between disciplinarian military culture, poor parenting and traumatised children. Kazoye Irani's film, written by Soumil Shukla and Arun Singh, sets itself up as something different – risky even. However… Army officer Vijay (Prithviraj Sukumaran) is in hot pursuit of the mysterious fugitive Mohsin. Vijay believes that Mohsin is none other than another terrorist, Qaabil (KC Shankar). On the home front, Vijay is warring with his wife Meher (Kajol) over his rejection of their shy, stuttering son Harman (Ronav Parihar). Despite Meher's remonstrations, Vijay displays contempt towards Harman, whom he regards as weak and unworthy. When Qaabil kidnaps Harman, Vijay refuses to negotiate. Presumed dead, Harman (Ibrahim Ali Khan) returns years later – with sculpted muscles, a hard stare and stutter-free speech. Is he really Harman or a terrorist plant? Sarzameen is out on JioHotstar. The Hindi film's basic premise is from Ramesh Sippy's Shakti (1982), about a principled police officer who lets kidnappers take away his son rather than betray his uniform. But Shakti 's exploration of a son who harbours lingering resentment against his father simply doesn't lend itself to a movie about an insurgency that is guided by political ideology. As if it isn't dodgy enough to link Vijay's decisions with Harman's journey, Sarzameen has one of the most ludicrous and asinine twists in recent memory. The side-splitting revelation wipes out Vijay's much-vaunted reputation as a highly decorated officer. Whither Army intelligence – or, for that matter, basic intelligence? The mishmash of parenting lessons, terrorist hunting and personal sacrifice only suits the characters played by Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kajol. The other actors, including Jitendra Joshi as the token good Muslim and Mihir Ahuja as Qaabil's aide, barely register. Ibrahim Ali Khan is unequipped to portray Harman's seething rage or emotional conflict. Whatever flicker of psychological depth there is, is soon extinguished for an anything-goes melodrama about a dysfunctional family dynamic that doubles up as an unintended comedy. Play

Now, the actor sat for an interview with a media portal, where he opened up about the lifestyle habits that help him stay fit, focused, and full of energy despite his hectic shooting schedules. During a chat with ETimes, the actor shared, 'To keep my energy levels up, I focus on staying consistent with my workouts. I try to mix things up with cardio and strength training, which keeps it interesting and effective." The Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin actor, who has recently incorporated yoga and meditation into his daily routine, reveals that these mindful practices help him stay calm and centered, especially on long and stressful shoot days. 'Sleep is non-negotiable for me, and I do my best to eat a balanced diet with enough protein and nutrients. Lately, I have also started including yoga and meditation in my daily routine. It really helps me stay centered, focused, and calm on long and stressful shoot days," he said. Shakti Arora's Health Comes First Balancing a tight shooting schedule with health isn't easy, but Shakti makes it work. 'I've realised it's necessary if I want to give my 100%. I usually fit in quick but intense workout sessions that leave me energised. And honestly, walking is something I absolutely love. It's my way of clearing my head, relaxing after a long day, or just enjoying some quiet time with myself," he said. He also spoke about the importance of warm-ups before action-heavy roles. The actor added, 'When it comes to action scenes, I make sure I'm well-prepared. One important thing I've learned is to never skip warm-ups. I once skipped it and ended up with a painful tennis elbow. That incident taught me how crucial it is to condition your body before stepping on set." Shakti Arora's skincare and diet plan Shakti opened up about his diet plan. Revealing that he has adopted a vegetarian lifestyle, the actor said that he keeps his diet simple. 'My day starts with warm water, and I usually skip breakfast. Lunch is usually grilled vegetables, paneer, and sabzi made at home, always with a good portion of salad. Dinner is dal, roti, sabzi, and tofu to maintain my protein intake. I prefer everything home-cooked and light," he mentioned. Coming to skincare, the actor keeps it minimal. He noted, 'Since we're under makeup and lights for long hours, I just make sure I stay hydrated and moisturise properly. I like to keep it natural and simple. That works best for me." In the same interview, Shakti revealed that the more natural the routine, the better he feels overall. He said, 'I don't really believe in fancy detox drinks. For me, water is the best detox. Simplicity really is key when it comes to health. One habit I never skip is drinking warm water first thing in the morning. It gives me a fresh start to the day." Shakti Arora's Work Front The actor was last seen in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. The television show has undergone major shifts since its launch. Starting with the first generation, the show found success with leads Ayesha Singh, Neil Bhatt and Aishwarya Sharma. The baton was then passed to the second generation, which featured the trio Shakti Arora, Bhavika Sharma and Sumit Singh. The latest narrative starred Vaibhavi Hankare, Param Singh and Sanam Johar, but due to lower TRP, Bhavika re-entered the show, alongside Hitesh Bharadwaj and Amayra Khurana. view comments First Published: July 23, 2025, 14:45 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
