Bedford art show aims to bring 'new technology to the masses'
"It shows how digital art can be all things," she added.
Dr Goodyear worked with four community groups - the Higgins volunteers, Queen's Park Youth Group, Castle Art Life Group and a team of Ukrainian artists - on the show. She said many believed they were "not artists or arty, but I disagree with that, everyone has the potential to be an artist". Working with a virtual reality (VR) assistant, Amina Pagliari, the groups were shown how to create VR together in an "immersive space". What they created was edited into a 26-minute animated film which will be projected on to a wall within the exhibition.
Dr Goodyear said: "I felt like a virtual explorer flying around the space creating a film path to capture the content."The goal is to bring new technology and digital art to the masses, in a way that hasn't been done before."
Victoria Partridge, keeper of fine and decorative art at the museum, said three of its nine Turner paintings would be on display, including "one of his most famous watercolours, A First Rate Taking in Stores". The piece Cecil and Kali, painted by the renowned artist Chila Kumari Singh Burman, will also be exhibited, as it was created while Burman was artist in residence in 2003. "It's a fascinating new way at looking at art through virtual reality," Ms Partridge added.
The exhibition is supported by Arts Council England, opens on 15 February and runs until 2 November.

A Michelin-starred Texan BBQ is coming to London
Meat lovers, this one's for you. One of most-acclaimed BBQ joints in Austin, Texas is coming to London for four weeks of flesh-based joy. Michelin starred smokehouse InterStellar BBQ is decamping from Texas for a kitchen takeover at Electric Bar & Diner at The Ned from September 5 until October 5. It'll be a collaboration with Hackney-based barbecue gang From The Ashes and there will just be one menu item on offer; a hearty sharing platter that includes peach tea glazed pork belly, pulled lamb shoulder, confit duck leg, beef short rib, and chilli & cheese sausage. There's also the option to add on Australian wagyu brisket, and a dessert of banana pudding with Jack Daniel's caramel sauce is also included. Sides include Texas toast, slaw, beans and beef fat potatoes. The whole thing comes in at £140 per platter for two, so it'll be £70 a head if you're sharing - and you probably should unless you want to go home in an ambulance. Speaking about the collab, John Bates of InterStellar says: 'It is the first time ever that I will be bringing my BBQ style, smoke and flavour to the UK. This is a great opportunity for BBQ enthusiasts to try authentic Texan BBQ right in the heart of the City of London.' 'We have been admirers of John's approach to BBQ and smoking for some time so are looking forward to teaming up with one of the best,' says From The Ashes, who you can find at the Five Points Courtyard in Hackney every Friday to Sunday. InterStellar scored its first Michelin star in last year's inaugural Texas Michelin Guide, and is one of only four Texan smokehouses to receive the honour.

Love Island's Casey O'Gorman admits struggles with relationship after All Stars victory
The latest batch of Love Island stars have been given a warning as a past winner revealed the relationship difficulties faced outside of the villa The current series of Love Island has came to a close in a history-making final on Monday. Viewers of the hit ITV2 dating show voted for their winners of series 12, crowning Toni Laites and Cach Mercer as their champions. The duo's win sees them exit the villa with £50,000 to share and a cross-Atlantic relationship to figure out. Toni became the first American contestant on the UK version of the reality show, with her current role seeing her reside in Las Vegas. With Cach being UK-based, the duo have a big decision to make on their future. They hinted on Monday's live finale they may split their time between the two countries after declaring their love for each other. It comes after Maya Jama surprised Harry Cooksley with her honest admission over his coupling with Shakira Khan. But now, a former Love Island winner has revealed his own struggles with long-distance relationships after leaving famous villa. Casey O'Gorman won Love Island All Stars series two alongside Gabby Allen. However, shortly after their victory, the duo went their separate ways and are no longer together. Speaking to Heart Bingo, Casey admitted it is difficult to navigate a long-distance pairing after leaving the villa. He said: "It's so overwhelming with everything going on - it's hard to keep the relationship going. You do need to make time for that person if you want to make it work. A lot of people do find it hard." He also said a relationship post Love Island is hard as you have all eyes on you. Casey confessed the pressures involved in such attention can be hard for a lot of people. And he also offered the current crop of islanders his personal advice after admitting it is easy to get "swept away by fame" after appearing on the show. He told them to "stay grounded" now they're back in the real world. "I think the important thing is speaking to people who have been through the same process and know what you want to do," he said. "Find your niche, because it's so easy to come out and ride the wave, then crash. I would definitely say and encourage them to speak out to ex-Islanders." And Casey admitted he wouldn't be at all surprised to see any of the latest series' batch of contestants back in the villa in time for the third edition of Love Island All Stars. Prior to the winners being announced, he was asked who he thought would be best on the spin-off version of the dating show. "Harry, Toni or Harrison," he claimed. "If any of them are single - they've got another five months - I'm sure you'll see a couple of their faces back on it." The third series of All Stars was recently confirmed for 2026. Speaking on the renewal, Mike Spencer-Hayter, Creative Director at Lifted Entertainment, said: 'Love Island: All Stars has quickly established itself as a stand-alone hit, keeping fans of the show gripped by iconic Islanders from the past 10 years returning for another chance to find love. "We are very excited about series 3 and you can expect the twists and turns to continue in All Stars, after an incredible smash hit summer series."

Gogglebox fans seriously distracted as Jenny reveals rarely-seen husband of 50 years
Gogglebox's Jenny has been inundated with messages from fans after her co-star Lee Riley shared a rare snap of her and her husband Ray Gogglebox viewers were left stunned after Jenny Newby offered a rare peek at her husband Ray. Jenny - who celebrated her 70th birthday earlier this year - and Lee Riley both became part of the beloved Channel 4 programme back in 2014, quickly establishing themselves as audience darlings. Throughout the years, the Hull-based duo - who have maintained their friendship for over 25 years - have kept viewers in hysterics with their brilliant quips. Beyond the show, Lee enjoys a loving relationship with partner Steve, whilst Jenny shares her life with long-term spouse Ray. On Sunday (August 3), Lee stunned followers by posting an uncommon photograph of Jenny alongside Ray, reports the Manchester Evening News. Using their joint Instagram account, Lee disclosed it marked Jenny and Ray's 50th wedding anniversary, sharing an image of the couple from their special day in 1975. His caption read: "Wishing my sidekick Jenny and Ray a happy 50th golden wedding anniversary who gets the medal". Supporters gushed over the photograph, though many became fixated on Ray's impressive sideburns. "Ray should get a medal for those sideburns alone. Epic," declared one person. Another agreed: "Was thinking the same." A third commented: "Jeez them sideburns have a life of their own." Mirroring these sentiments, someone else wrote: "Bloody hell, look at those side burns. You could ski down them." Lee and Jenny's friendship began in 1994, when Lee encountered Jenny at a pub where she served as landlady. Jenny shared with Ireland's Big Issue magazine: "Lee was a customer at my pub, The Crown Inn in Paull. He became a regular in 1994 and used to come in pretty much every night with his partner and we were friends from the off. We've been best friends ever since." Lee chimed in: "I wish I've never gone in the pub – it cost me a fortune. When I first met her she had a perm and I can remember thinking, 'She needs a haircut'. We were firm friends immediately. "I don't think we've ever had an argument. We're too placid to argue. She makes me laugh too much for me to ever fall out with her."
