It appears a rugby league power couple have called it quits, with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Jaime Chapman's romance reportedly over after just six months. NRL star Tabuai-Fidow and NRLW powerhouse Chapman delighted Aussie sport fans after going public with their relationship last December, becoming one of the most high-profile celebrity duos in the game. But now there are telling signs that it is all but over between the pair. A quick look at their social media accounts shows some very sad signs. The posts on Chapman's Instagram page, which was once loaded with photos of her and the Dolphin's fullback, have now been deleted. The only posts remaining are of Chapman herself and with teammates, friends and family. In the most telling sign, the Aussie representative no longer follows Tabuai-Fidow. Meanwhile the Dolphins fullback's Instagram still includes two posts with Chapman, but the vast majority have also been wiped. One of the posts that remains is a post from January of the pair holding hands with the caption 'My Love' with a red heart emoji. Tabuai-Fidow still follows Chapman. The Dolphins fullback, also known as 'The Hammer,' has grown in popularity following his move to Redcliffe from the Cowboys in 2023, becoming a key player for the club and guaranteed origin starter. Chapman, who joined the NRLW competition 2021 with the Dragons, later moved to the Broncos and gained a reputations as one of the best players in the league before a move to the Gold Coast Titans. Chapman is also a rep footy mainstay with appearances for the Jillaroos and dominant performances for the NSW Blues women's team this year. Chapman said she would support Tabuai-Fidow across the border when he plays for the Maroons, but it appears she won't be in the stadium when the winger runs out in a do-or-die decider at Accor Stadium in Game 3 next Wednesday. The split would add to an already chaotic year for Chapman who has battled through injury, but also a nightmare AI deepfake scandal. The Gold Coast Titans winger hit out after seeing doctored images of herself swirling around cyberspace, telling her 86,000 Instagram followers it was not the first time images she has shared on social media have been distorted through deepfake AI programs. Her Instagram post showed a high rise photo of a beach and an inset image, believed to be the fake AI image, of herself posing for a mirror selfie in a golden bikini. 'Have a good day to everyone except those who make fake ai photos of other people,' she posted. She also wrote: 'Next time think of how damaging this can be to someone and their loved ones. 'This has happened a few times now and it needs to stop.' Chapman's season is set to start with Round 1 of the NRLW season kicking off this week while Tabuai-Fidow will be in Maroons camp preparing for the State of Origin decider.

Junior Wallabies thrashed 73-17 by South Africa at World U20 Championship
Australia has made a disastrous start to rugby union's World U20 Championship in Italy with an embarrassing 73-17 loss to South Africa in its opening match. As the Wallabies prepare to host the British and Irish Lions in a three-Test series, Australian rugby's next generation of stars were given a reality check at Stadio San Michele, Calvisano. ABC Sport will have live blog coverage of the British and Irish Lions' tour of Australia this July and August. Coached by ex-Wallabies scrum-half Chris Whitaker, Australia conceded 11 tries. Fullback Sid Harvey scored a try and conversion for Australia, while winger Cooper Watters crossed for a double. South Africa led 33-5 at half-time. The final scoreline came as a shock to many observers, given Australia defeated South Africa 29-24 in the four-team U20 Rugby Championship in Port Elizabeth last month. New Zealand and Argentina also contested the tournament in South Africa. Australia faces Scotland in its second World U20 Championship pool match, which will be played in Viadana on Friday night AEST. The Australians finished sixth at last year's tournament, hosted by South Africa. They have twice reached the World U20 Championship final, most recently in 2019. The 2019 squad included Wallabies captain Harry Wilson, as well as the likes of Fraser McReight, Angus Bell, Noah Lolesio and Mark Nawaqanitawase.

Wallabies release Taniela Tupou to NSW Waratahs to take on British & Irish Lions
In a major development ahead of Australia's critical Test against Fiji this weekend, giant prop Taniela Tupou has been released from the Wallabies' training camp and sent back to the Waratahs for their tour match against the British and Irish Lions. Named as the starting tighthead prop in Australia's last match against Scotland on their 2024 end of season tour to Europe, Tupou has lost his spot in the squad for the Wallabies' only warm-up match for the Lions, against Fiji in Newcastle on Sunday. Struggling to reproduce his best form this year, Tupou will instead return to Sydney and rejoin the Waratahs ahead of their match against the Lions at Allianz Stadium on Saturday. Nicknamed 'the Tongan Thor', Tupou has made 58 appearances for the Wallabies since making his Test debut in 2017 but his prospects of adding to his caps during the upcoming three-Test series against the Lions now look to be in jeopardy. With Brumbies captain Allan Alaalatoa regarded as a near-certainty to be selected as the starting tighthead prop, Tupou was vying with Queensland's Zane Nonggorr and Tom Robertson, who can pack down on either side of the scrum, as the backup. Nonggorr was not released from the Wallabies' training camp for the Reds' match against the Lions in Brisbane on Wednesday. Robertson was let go so he could play for the Western Force against the Lions last weekend and had a storming game, despite his team's heavy 54-7 loss. One of six Force players who ran out against the Lions in Perth, Robertson returned to the Wallabies camp on Sunday and was given a clean bill of health after undergoing a fitness check. Robertson hasn't played a Test for Australia in three years but has put himself back in the picture for the series opener at Suncorp Stadium on July 19 and is desperate for a recall. 'Just to be in the squad is an honour, to try and push for a gig in that 23 would be unreal. I'd come close last year being in the squad for a bit and then had a few injuries and didn't make the 23.' Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt will announce his squad to face Fiji on Friday afternoon.
