PRYOR, Okla. – A 91-year-old Mayes County woman died from injuries she received in a May car crash, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported on Wednesday.
Bettu Giles, of Pyror, was involved in the two-vehicle crash on May 29 and was flown by helicopter to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with head, trunk, and external injuries.
She died on June 2, the patrol reported.
The crash happened around 9:45 on OK-20 and N 429 Rd, three miles west of Pryor.
The patrol reported that Giles was driving a 2017 Lincoln Continental and failed to yield when entering OK-20. According to the patrol, she struck a 2018 Jeep Renegade, driven by Jessica Knight, 39, of Claremore.
Knight was admitted to St Francis with trunk internal and arm injuries.

According to police, Washington was taken to 170 N. Main for questioning, and he waived his Miranda rights. He reportedly told police that he stabbed Brown in the course of arguing with her. It's unclear what sparked the argument. Investigators said that Washington told them he tried to clean the blood in the apartment with a vacuum and Fabuloso cleaner. Just after midnight, crews arrived at a vacant home near East 17th Street and Elmwood Avenue with smoke and flames but found no one inside. No injuries were reported. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Officers with the Kansas City Police Department were called to 24th Street and Lister Avenue just after 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning, June 28, on reports of a shooting. When officers arrived at the scene, they found one man in a parking lot who had been shot. Officers requested paramedics and began first aid on the victim. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. One man shot, several residences damaged in Raytown shooting: Police Later, Saturday afternoon, KCPD identified the victim as 40-year-old Antonio Jackson. At the scene, officers were notified of three additional victims who had also been shot at the location. One victim was taken to the hospital by private vehicle, a second victim was located at a residence near 39th and Chelsea and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and the third victim was found at 19th and Oak and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. KCPD says those victims are continuing recovery with what is thought to be non-life-threatening injuries.
