Prince Harry's latest peace offering to estranged dad King Charles and brother Prince William revealed

News.com.au5 days ago
Prince Harry has reportedly agreed to share his official diary with the royal family as a peace offering to his dad, King Charles III, and brother Prince William.
The olive branch would help avoid schedule conflicts between Harry and Meghan Markle's events and royal family engagements, the Daily Mail reported Saturday.
The proposal is allegedly a way of shutting down claims that the Sussexes are trying to steal the spotlight from the British royals.
The move came days after Harry's trip to Angola dominated headlines and buried Charles' wife Queen Camilla's 78th birthday portrait reveal.
Harry's transparency could potentially pave the way for a face-to-face meeting between him and his estranged dad being scheduled into their busy itineraries, especially considering peace talks have allegedly been held between the two camps.
'Before that meeting between their aides in London, conflicts of interest or clashes of publicity were relished and even perhaps encouraged by the Sussexes,' an insider claimed to the outlet, adding, 'Now, Harry has shifted into a new way of thinking. The tone is now all about 'deconflicting' with his family.'
The source explained that the Sussex household has offered to 'draw up a 'grid' of his activities and share them with Buckingham Palace.'
In doing so, Kensington Palace would also be looped in on the plans, therefore keeping William and Kate Middleton informed.
'Harry still doesn't like being controlled by the Royal machinery, and that won't change,' the insider said. 'However, if the Royal Family have full sight of his movements they can at least plan accordingly.'
The source called Harry's peace offering a 'significant gesture.'
Page Six has reached out to Harry's rep for comment.
Harry, 40, has been on the outs with his father, 76, and older brother, 43, since he and Markle, also 43, resigned from their royal duties in 2020.
They ultimately moved to Montecito, California, where they live with their two kids: Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
The Invictus Games founder went on to drag his royal family members in several interviews as well as in his memoir, Spare. However, Harry has since shared his desire to reconcile with the reigning monarch and even allegedly invited his dad and brother to his 2027 Invictus Games.
Meanwhile, Markle has been busy building her lifestyle empire with her Goop-like brand, As Ever.

Oasis fan plunges to his death ‘from upper tier' of Wembley stadium during reunion gig

An Oasis fan tragically plunged to his death during the band's reunion gig at Wembley. The man – aged in his 40s – was understood to be sitting in the upper tier of the stadium as the Gallagher brothers performed to a sellout crowd on Saturday. Police and paramedics rushed to the gig but he was pronounced dead at the scene, The Sun reports. The highest stands in the 90,000-seat venue are some 170ft above the ground. One fan, who was sitting in a lower tier, described watching medics try to revive the tragic fan after he hit the concrete. She wrote: 'I was directly underneath in section 211. At first glance I thought it was a coat falling from the above tier but then I looked and saw the bloke on the concrete. It was horrific to see.' The Met Police confirmed that officers at Wembley responded to reports that a man had been injured at 10.19pm, where they found the casualty with 'injuries consistent with a fall'. They urged anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have unknowingly caught it on their mobile phone to get in touch. The police are expected to inform the Health and Safety Executive which could launch a probe into the death. Saturday's gig was the fourth of seven London shows on Oasis' blockbuster reunion tour. The band crashed ticket sites when they announced they were making a comeback last year – as more than 14 million fans tried to secure a seat at the highly-anticipated gigs. Last month Liam and Noel reunited on stage in Cardiff for the first time since a backstage bust-up broke up the band 16 years ago. The Britpop icons returned to their hometown of Manchester for five dates in July. They performed a 23-song setlist of classic hits, including Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger and Live Forever to a roaring crowd of 80,000 people at Heaton Park. They will head to America later this month before returning to London for two more gigs in September.

Jessica Curry: Shielding Songs

Jessica Curry's first new album in five years, Shielding Songs, which explores themes of vulnerability, tenderness, tolerance, forgiveness, loss and love, is this week's Feature Album on ABC Classic. The English composer is famous for her video game soundtracks, such as Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and So Let Us Melt , and this album contains a selection of new arrangements alongside unrecorded works. 'I am immunocompromised and as such shielded for over two years during the pandemic,' Curry says. 'When I went through my choral works, I found that the same concerns arose time and time again- protection, sanctuary and a dogged determination to believe in the best of people, even through the worst of times. Now more than ever, we have to look after one another and I hope that this music brings hope and solace to listeners.' 'Vulnerability, the strength of human love, dignity and tolerance shines through the album, particularly in the anti-war requiem Perpetual Light , unrecorded since its premiere in 2011 at London's Old Vic Tunnels. It encapsulates the driving themes of the album – that in the face of adversity and trauma, it is love and nurture that will hold us together.' Curry's music is sung by London Voices, with whom she has previously worked on her famous video game soundtracks, directed by Ben Parry.

‘Misjudged': Truth about Meghan Markle's downfall

Even on The Real Housewives Of London, Meghan Markle is creating drama. Sadly, that's not because the Duchess of Sussex is making a glittering return to the UK to join the latest Housewives franchise. She's still holed up in California, making jam and tending to her bees. But that doesn't stop Meghan's presence being felt on the new series. In the trailer promoting the show's premiere, cast member Panthea Parker is warned by her husband not to ask King Charles any questions about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex when they attend a Buckingham Palace garden party. It's a pity because that conversation would have made far juicier fodder for an episode of the Housewives than any previous champagne-fuelled shenanigans. (And that's saying something because there have been some doozies over the years.) Such is the power of Meghan Markle. Love her or hate her, our modern-day Mrs Simpson is always a compelling character to watch. And Meghan certainly gives us a lot of entertainment. In addition to the many documentaries and TV panel discussions devoted to analysing Meghan's rise and fall in the House of Windsor, the royal couple have been generating their own content. Since Megxit, there has been the infamous tell-all with Oprah Winfrey, Harry's biography Spare, podcast appearances, and the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, where the pair detailed their side of the family feud. There's also been the lifestyle series With Love, Meghan where the Suits star shared simple recipes as well as tips for hosting children's parties from inside her tastefully elegant Montecito home. commentator and royal expert Daniela Elser understands the appetite for all things Meghan Markle. 'On camera, she's a natural,' she explains. 'I think that's a talent that you have or you don't, and she has it in spades. She is incredibly beautiful, she's hugely stylish, and she clearly feels very comfortable there. In With Love, Meghan, she is obviously truly passionate about cooking, about food and gardening, and that comes across. I think the parts of that show that worked well were when she was in the kitchen with chefs like Roy Choi or Alice Waters, more so than when she was doing things like making a balloon arch.' While people have been quick to criticise all these appearances as proof Meghan is out of touch and shameless in her quest for attention, we keep lapping it up. And so, does she deserve to be the target of such vitriol? No. Should she execute a bit more discretion before posting videos of herself bumping and grinding in the delivery suite? Absolutely. Or maybe Meghan is just a girl standing in front of the world asking them to love her. So how does she win us back? Not with tips for welcoming house guests with lavender-scented towels and gift baskets, it seems. Evan Nierman, Founder and CEO of global PR firm Red Banyan, told Us Weekly magazine that it would be very hard for Meghan to turn the tide of public opinion back around now. 'Meghan took what could have been a real-life fairy tale and turned it into an ugly 'tell-all', almost like ruining a Disney movie,' he said. 'She misjudged how much goodwill she could burn before people lost interest, and now she's facing the reality that rebuilding a reputation is far harder than maintaining one.' Time will tell. And I, for one, will be watching with interest. Meanwhile, here's some Meghan sparkle available on Tubi. Harry & Meghan: A Modern Royal Romance: Created to celebrate their impending wedding, this 2018 documentary charts the love story of Prince Harry and the Suits star. Hollywood Princesses: Grace and Meghan: This 2023 documentary analyses the journeys of two actresses – Grace Kelly and Meghan Markle – who traded Hollywood for a Palace. Meghan Markle: Unforgiven: Although she was initially seen as a 'breath of fresh air' for the royal family, this 2023 documentary examines how the global love affair with Meghan has turned sour.
