Roberto Firmino joins Al-Sadd from Al-Ahli on two-year deal
Firmino has signed a two-year deal with the Qatar Stars League champions, having led Al-Ahli to the Asian Champions League Elite title in Jeddah in May.
'I'm happy because we made history at the club during these two years together,' the Brazilian said in a farewell video released by the Saudi club.
'The best moment was to become the champions of Asia. I'm very grateful for this.'
Firmino spent two seasons with Al-Ahli after joining from Liverpool and played a key role in the club's first continental title win, scoring six times in 12 games in the Asian Champions League Elite.
He provided assists for both of his club's goals in their win over Japan's Kawasaki Frontale in the final in May to become the first player - alongside clubmates Riyad Mahrez and Edouard Mendy - to win continental titles in Asia and Europe.
Firmino's performances saw him named the competition's most valuable player.
The 33-year-old joins an Al-Sadd side that won last season's domestic title to qualify for the next edition of the Asian Champions League Elite. - Reuters

"I think now he has more players, I feel, to help him to lead the group, and that is a good thing. He is our leader and really important, not just on the field but off the field. He leads by example. "Sometimes, the problem is he gets frustrated and loses a little bit of focus of his job. Sometimes, he wants to help the teammates so much, it is not the best thing to do. They have to do their job, and Bruno has, for example, to wait for the ball." United have signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo so far in the transfer window, with Amorim saying the signings would take some of the pressure off Fernandes in attack. "Last year, I felt sometimes I pushed him back to have more possession in the build-up, and we miss Bruno near the box," Amorim added. "With different characteristics from Bryan (Mbeumo) and Matheus Cunha - and I really like Kobbie Mainoo's game - he (Fernandes) will have more help this season." AC MILAN beat Liverpool 4-2 in a pre-season friendly in Hong Kong on Saturday as the Premier League club's record signing Florian Wirtz made his first start for them. Former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish laid a wreath before the game and the players had 'Diogo J 20' on their shirts in honour of their former teammate Diogo Jota, who died along with his brother Andre Silva in a car accident in Spain this month. HONG KONG: Former Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored as Premier League champions Liverpool were beaten 4-2 by AC Milan today in a pre-season friendly in Hong Kong. Liverpool, with record signing Florian Wirtz making his first start, dominated possession under the closed roof at Kai Tak Stadium but a shaky defence was punished for all four Milan goals. Rafael Leao opened the scoring for the Italian side on 10 minutes with Dominik Szoboszlai's superb strike equalising 16 minutes later to make it 1-1 at half-time But Loftus-Cheek, six minutes after the break, and two goals from substitute Noah Okafor, either side of Cody Gakpo's late header, gave AC Milan the victory. Liverpool's Hong Kong fans vastly outnumbered those supporting AC Milan in the 49,704 sellout crowd. They paid a heartfelt tribute to Diogo Jota, who passed away earlier this month in a car crash. Flowers were laid by Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish in front of fans, who responded by holding up a mosaic spelling out "DJ20" in honour of Jota's number 20 shirt, which has been retired by the club.
