And now new research has revealed that four stunning beaches across the country have been ranked among the best coastal locations to visit across Britain.
Experts at QR Code Generator compiled the list by looking at the highest-rated beaches on Tripadvisor.
Beaches that received four stars or higher were ranked based on the percentage of five-star reviews compared to the total number of reviews.
And it found that four out of the top five beaches were all found in Scotland - sealing all of the top three spots.
Some of which are so stunning that they are exotic dupes of Caribbean resorts.
And experts say that they could actually be even better because they're lesser-known hidden gems, which are not as overrun with tourists as some hotspot areas are.
Scottish beaches can often be overlooked for southern destinations, but these reviews show how extraordinary these locations really are
Marc Porcar
Marc Porcar, CEO of QR Code Generator, said: "Scotland dominates the list of best UK beaches, claiming four out of the top five spots.
"Scottish beaches can often be overlooked for southern destinations, but these reviews show how extraordinary these locations really are.
'These beaches are more remote than usual seaside towns that are overrun during the summer months.
"They offer visitors a quieter, more picturesque experience that is truly breathtaking.'
Scotland's number one secret beach revealed
Luskentyre Beach
Located on the Isle of Harris, Luskentyre Beach came in at number one in the rankings.
And it is no surprise, as it features miles of white sand and beautiful green-blue water, with impressive sand dunes and views of the island of Taransay.
Further adding to Luskentyre's appeal – for such a beautiful beach visitors might expect to have to share the beauty spot with crowds of other travellers but on the contrary.
So it's often possible to take a stroll along this beach without seeing another soul, making it the ideal secluded retreat.
The study found that 93.79 per cent of reviews (1,072 out of 1,143) rated it five stars.
And it was named one of the UK's best beaches in the Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Awards.
Scarista Beach
Another beach on the Isle of Harris that made the list is Scarista Beach.
Coming in at second place, experts found that 90.50 per cent of reviews (200 out of 221) rated it five stars.
Less than six miles from Luskentyre Beach, it is popular among visitors for its rows of dunes that are left behind by large waves nearly every day.
And it's because of these massive waves and high gusts of wind that it's been named as one of the best surfing beaches in Scotland.
The white sandy beach is speckled with seashells and since it lies on the southwestern coast, it has picturesque views over the Atlantic Ocean.

Camusdarach Beach
Camusdarach Beach was the third Scottish beach on the list and also rounded out the top three spots.
It is an arc of white, glistening sand and clear water just south of the estuary of River Morar, near the village of Morar, which is three miles south of Mallaig.
And visitors loved its spectacular views across the crags of the Cuillin mountain range, on the Isle of Skye.
Branded breathtaking, the spot is perfect for swimming, if you can brave the chilly waters, as well as rock pooling and walking.
And Camusdarach found fame in the 1983 cult film Local Hero, known in the flick as Ben's beach.
The experts found that a total of 88.54 per cent of reviews (309 out of 349) rated it five stars.

Marloes Sands Beach was the only non-Scottish beach in the top five rankings

Marloes Sands Beach
Marloes Sands Beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales, was the only non-Scottish beach that made the top five across the UK.
The remote bay provided the backdrop for 2011 film Snow White And The Huntsman starring Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and the Twilight movies' Kristen Stewart.
Oscar-winning Hollywood legends Katharine Hepburn, Peter O'Toole and Sir Anthony Hopkins also filmed there for 1968's The Lion In Winter, which won three Academy Awards.
Travellers can approach the beach via the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path loop walk – taking in an iron-age fort, a deer park, and potential sights of wildlife including seabirds, seals and porpoises.
And a total of 88.51 per cent of reviews (231 out of 261) rated it five stars.

Sandwood Bay

It is a mile of golden sand forming a sweeping natural horseshoe bay on the far north-west coast of land belonging to the John Muir Trust, a charity that protects wild places.
The bay is backed by dunes and Sandwood Loch and framed by high cliffs.
From the beach, the massive sea stack, Am Buachaille, can be seen at the southern end of the sands.
It's also a great place for spotting dolphins.
And many visitors flocked to the popular review site to say they were impressed with its natural bay.

Major Scots airport slammed for being ‘filthy' and damaging country's reputation
The boss of a Scottish Government agency slammed the state of the terminal RUN AWAY Major Scots airport slammed for being 'filthy' and damaging country's reputation Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SCOTLAND'S busiest airport is so 'filthy' it risks damaging the country's reputation overseas, a top quango boss claims. Scottish Funding Council chief Francesca Osowska blasted the state of the terminal and public loos and hit out at the time it took for her luggage to be unloaded from a flight from Portugal. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Edinburgh Airport is the country's busiest, supporting 30,000 jobs and contributing £1.4bn to the economy 2 More than 50,000 people pass through the terminal every day during the summer holidays Her agency divvies out public cash for educational institutions and has been heavily involved in bailing out stricken Dundee University — with a rescue package which could eventually top £62million. Ms Osowska also took aim at the jet hub's 'where Scotland meets the world' slogan in an online rant. She said: 'Another top class performance by Edinburgh Airport. 'Arrivals hall is filthy, toilets dirty and despite the Porto flight arriving before the Dubai flight, guess which bags were delivered first? 'Another one-hour-plus wait for bags. 'What must the world think?' Edinburgh Airport is used by more than 12 million passengers every year, with routes to 150 destinations served by 34 airlines. It helps bring in £1.4bn to the nation's economy and supports nearly 30,000 jobs. During peak times, including school holidays, more than 60,000 people move through the terminal every day. An Edinburgh Airport spokesman said: 'Constructive feedback is important. 'We survey more than 50,000 of our passengers every month, and those scores are overwhelmingly positive. 'But, as with any business or organisation — including ones in the public sector like the Scottish Funding Council — we know we won't always get it right. 'The complex nature and range of partners involved in airport operations are often misunderstood. 'While it's easy to share personal frustrations in 240 characters, it's not as easy to explain those intricacies. 'We're happy to engage constructively and offer clarity wherever we can.' Ms Osowska, from Cumbria, has held a number of senior public sector roles, including leading environment agency Naturescot and serving as principle private secretary to late First Minister Alex Salmond between 2007 and 2009. Holidaymakers travelling through Edinburgh Airport were left searching for bags due to a string of issues three years ago. Hundreds of missing items were held in storage at the terminal, with some waiting weeks for their cases to be returned. Baggage handling and other ground services are handled by contractors who work directly with airlines.

'Stunning' Scots town Emma Raducanu 'fell in love with' for its beautiful sights
The tennis star says she fell in love with the landscape of the Perthshire town during a visit in 2024. Emma Raducanu has been making headlines again at Wimbledon, powering into the third round after an impressive straight-sets victory over former champion Marketa Vondrousova on Wednesday night. But while her on-court form is grabbing attention, it's her off-court love for Scotland that's also winning hearts, Scottish Daily Express reports. The 21-year-old tennis star recently reflected on her 2024 trip to Perthshire, where she attended the glittering Dior Cruise show at Drummond Castle in Crieff, and fell head over heels for the region's peaceful charm and breathtaking beauty. Speaking to the BBC, Raducanu shared her admiration for the Scottish landscape. 'I really fell in love with it up there,' she said. 'I was at the Gleneagles, which was stunning, the golf course. I did a run before the show. It was just stunning to take in all the sights. For me, my retreat is greenery. I think Scotland has just vast, amazing, beautiful greenery. It was beautiful.' She added: 'I think Drummond Castle, where the show was at, is stunning. The lawns were so perfectly manicured, it was beautiful.' Her visit coincided with one of the most star-studded events ever held in the Scottish countryside. Dior's showcase drew in major names from around the world, including Hollywood heavyweights Jennifer Lawrence and Anya Taylor-Joy. But it was Crieff's natural splendour and quiet sophistication that stole the show for Raducanu. Crieff, a picturesque market town nestled in the heart of Perthshire, has become a thriving tourism hub in recent years. Known for its whisky heritage and literary history, it's home to Scotland's oldest lending library, the town continues to enchant visitors with its unique mix of history and hospitality. The centrepiece of Raducanu's visit, Drummond Castle, is among the most celebrated sights in the region. While the castle itself is not open to the public, the Italian-style gardens are widely regarded as some of the finest in Europe. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! As VisitScotland describes: 'A mile of beech-lined avenue leads to a formidable ridge-top tower house. Enter through the woven iron portcullis and suddenly revealed is a magnificent Italianate parterre. "First laid out in the early 17th century and redesigned and terraced in the 19th century, the gardens you see today were replanted in the 1950s, preserving features such as the ancient yew hedges and the copper beech trees planted by Queen Victoria, to commemorate her visit in 1842. The gardens featured in the United Artists film Rob Roy.' Just a short drive away lies Gleneagles, one of the most prestigious golf resorts in the world, and another highlight of Raducanu's trip. Crieff also boasts luxury stays like the iconic Crieff Hydro, which has long welcomed famous guests, as well as attractions like the Caithness Glass Visitor Centre and The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery. With its storybook setting, rich history and star-studded events, it's little wonder Raducanu left Perthshire smitten. And as she returns to the court on Friday to face world number one Aryna Sabalenka.

Brit tourist and her pal ‘killed by rampaging elephant' during walking safari
Safari guides who were with the group fired shots at the rampaging elephant to stop it from charging at the victims SAFARI HORROR Brit tourist and her pal 'killed by rampaging elephant' during walking safari Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A BRITISH tourist and her friend from New Zealand have been killed by an elephant while on a walking safari in Zambia today, cops said. The elephant was hit with the bullets and wounded, but guides were unable to prevent the attack and both women tragically died at the scene, cops said. The South Luangwa National Park sits in eastern Zambia, roughly 370 miles from the capital Lusaka. Female elephants are renowned for being extremely protective of their babies and can respond with aggression to what they may see as threats. Last year, two tourists from the US were killed in separate encounters with elephants in Zambia. The elderly women were on safari vehicles when they were attacked. In January, a Spanish tourist has been killed by an elephant she was bathing at a sanctuary in Thailand. Blanca Ojanguren García, 22, was washing the animal when it gruesomely drove its tusk into her. The attack caused injuries from which Blanca could not be saved and the student later died. Blanca was bathing the animal at Koh Yao Elephant Care centre on the island of Yao Yai, Clarin reports. She reportedly passed in front of the animal when it attacked. Blanca, from Valladolid in northwest Spain, was a student at the University of Navarra and was in Thailand travelling. She was with her boyfriend at the time. Navarra University said it 'expresses its sorrow' for García's death and 'shares the grief of her family and asks for prayers for her soul.' Blanca had been on exchange and living in Taiwan when she had travelled to Thailand for a holiday. Washing elephants is a popular activity at some sanctuaries in Thailand. Experts told Clarín the elephant had likely become stressed due to interacting with tourists. Some 4,000 elephants live in sanctuaries, national parks, and nature reserves in Thailand.
