The exhibition is being organized within the
framework of support provided by the ministry to the National Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Human Trafficking (NCCPIM) - of which the ministry is a member.

and Ihab Leheita, Vice President of Gezira Club.
The "Buy Egyptian Art" series aims to contribute to reducing illegal emigration and human trafficking by supporting owners of craft and heritage projects helping them expand their clientele within the Egyptian and foreign diplomatic community, thus contributing to establishing ongoing, long-term cooperation that creates ongoing marketing opportunities for project owners. Egypt FM in Nigeria for talks on bilateral cooperation, counterterrorism - Foreign Affairs
Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with his Nigerian counterpart Geoffrey Onyeama in Abuja on Monday to discuss regional developments, deepen bilateral relations, and enhance cooperation—particularly in the economic and counterterrorism spheres. The visit marks the first stop in Abdelatty's tour of five West African countries. According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, Abdelatty praised the growing momentum in Egyptian-Nigerian relations and highlighted the third round of political consultations held in Cairo in January 2025—the first at the ministerial level—as a reflection of both countries' desire to elevate ties into a comprehensive partnership. Abdelatty also reviewed the current cooperation, emphasizing the need to build on the outcomes of the Egyptian-Nigerian Business Forum in Abuja to boost trade and investment across key sectors, including agriculture, pharmaceuticals, energy, mining, construction, and information technology. The Egyptian delegation included representatives from leading companies as well as from the Egyptian Exporters Association, the Federation of Egyptian Industries, the Egypt Future Agency, the Export Council for Medical Industries, and the Mineral Wealth Authority—signalling Cairo's commitment to expanding economic ties. Counterterrorism cooperation On the security front, Abdelatty underscored Egypt's readiness to share its counterterrorism expertise by providing advanced field training and support for combating extremist ideologies. He stressed the importance of rejecting violence, promoting tolerance, and disseminating moderate Islamic values, while noting the key role played by both the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding, and Al-Azhar in supporting Nigeria's fight against radicalization. Support for UNESCO candidacy The talks were also attended by Khaled El-Anany, Egypt's candidate for the position of Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Abdelatty expressed appreciation for Nigeria's support of El-Anany's candidacy during the 47th session of the African Union Executive Council, calling it a vote of confidence in the Egyptian nominee's qualifications and capacity to represent Africa at the UN cultural agency. Development aid and regional issues Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's continued support for Nigerian institutions through the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), noting that over 570 Nigerians have participated in 260 training programmes offered in cooperation with Egyptian institutions. The two ministers also exchanged views on regional issues, particularly developments in the Sahel, Horn of Africa, Sudan, Libya, and Somalia. Discussions focused on efforts to stabilize West Africa and strengthen joint African action within the African Union framework, in light of growing security threats across the continent. For his part, Onyeama praised Egypt's regional leadership, particularly its efforts in reconstruction, development, and integration. He expressed Nigeria's interest in drawing on Egyptian expertise in infrastructure, technical education, healthcare, and modern agriculture. The ministers concluded by affirming their commitment to closer coordination within international and regional organizations and mutual support for international nominations. During his visit, Abdelatty is scheduled to meet senior Nigerian officials, regional bloc representatives, members of the business community, and Egyptian expatriates. His African tour will continue with visits to Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, and Senegal. It follows Egypt's active participation in the African Union Executive Council's 47th Ordinary Session, where President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Abdelatty held multiple meetings with African leaders and officials. Egypt FM begins 5-leg West Africa tour for bolstering ties, counterterrorism efforts
Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty travelled on Monday to the Nigerian capital, Abuja, beginning his tour to five West African countries, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and coordination on counterterrorism efforts in the Sahel and West Africa. The five West African countries are Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, and Senegal. During his tour in Nigeria, Abdelatty will hold high-level meetings with several senior Nigerian officials, representatives of regional blocs, members of the Nigerian business community, and the Egyptian expatriate community, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thirty CEOs and representatives of major Egyptian companies from various sectors are accompanying the minister on his African tour, which aims to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation with these countries. According to the statement, the tour reflects Egypt's commitment to active engagement and partnership with the African continent, supporting sustainable development efforts and promoting regional stability. The African tour followed Egypt's active participation at the 47th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, where President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi and FM Abdelatty held several meetings with African leaders and officials. During that session, El-Sisi announced the launch of the New Partnership for Africa's Development's (NEPAD) Centre of Excellence for Climate Initiatives in Cairo, describing the step as essential to equip the African countries with tools for adaptation and resilience. "Despite ongoing regional and international challenges, Africa holds vast potential and numerous opportunities for achieving sustainable development and prosperity," the president affirmed. For his part, FM Abdelatty discussed ways to intensify cooperation with African countries during the event. He stressed the importance of leveraging the expertise and capabilities of leading Egyptian companies, particularly in the energy, construction, healthcare, and infrastructure sectors. Abdelatty also highlighted Egypt's ongoing efforts to support development in Africa, particularly through the activities of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "EAPD supports Africa's development aspirations through the provision of capacity-building assistance, the transfer of knowledge, skills, and expertise, and the promotion of creative industries," El-Sisi said during the 23rd African Union Summit in June 2014. The agency also supports and promotes the private sector's role in trade and investment, contributing to the continent's overall economic development. Egypt places premium on completing road-linking project with Chad: FM Abdelatty in N'Djamena - Foreign Affairs
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stressed on Sunday to his Chadian counterpart, Abderaman Koulamallah, that Cairo places a premium on completing the road linking the two nations, as it aims to boost trade and facilitate the movement of people and goods between the two countries. This announcement was made during a meeting in the Chadian capital of N'Djamena, before the Egyptian top diplomat embarking on a tour of West African countries, which includes Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, and Senegal. A Foreign Ministry statement said Abdelatty praised the recent progress in Egyptian–Chadian relations, highlighting Egypt's full support for development projects in Chad, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, energy, education, health, agriculture, and capacity building. The Egyptian foreign minister emphasized to Koulamallah that Cairo is keen on supporting Chad in constructing dams and rainwater harvesting wells. Egypt's top diplomat also affirmed Egypt's commitment to assisting Chad in establishing a diplomatic studies institute to train Chadian cadres and expressed hope for the swift completion and inauguration of Alexandria University's branch in N'Djamena. The statement added that the meeting between the foreign ministers included an exchange of views on key regional issues of mutual concern, foremost among them the situation in the Sahel and the Horn of Africa, and their implications for the continent's stability. Connecting two nations In February, the Ministry of Transport revealed details of the road project connecting Egypt to Chad via Libya. The transport ministry stated that the road comprises three sectors, the first of which is currently under construction, extending from East Oweinat to the Kufra border crossing. The second sector within Libyan territory spans 390 kilometres, while the third sector, from the Chadian border to Ibsha, passing through the city of Am Jiras, spans 930 kilometres. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Arab Contractors Company and the Libyan government to initiate survey and environmental studies, as well as preliminary design works, for the road connecting the Kufra area in southeastern Libya, on the border with Egypt, and extending into Libyan territory up to the border with Chad. The transport ministry added that the Arab Contractors Company also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chadian government to initiate survey and environmental studies, as well as the preliminary design for the third sector, from the Libyan-Chadian border to the city of Am Jiras.
