Kaizer Chiefs' star forward Lilepo urges fans to rally behind team
The 27-year-old DRC international hit the ground running following his January transfer, netting six goals and providing an assist in just 14 appearances. His explosive impact has reignited hope at Naturena and sharpened the team's focus ahead of a crucial final league clash.
Lilepo emphasised the importance of the upcoming fixture against Polokwane City, calling it a decisive moment in the club's campaign.
'We are all very happy because we know how important it is for the Club. Our goal was to end this long period without trophies and bring back some joy to the fans,' he told the club's official website.
With a top-eight finish within reach, Lilepo and his teammates are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations.
'Personally, I am training well, as is the rest of the squad. We understand how important this game is for our chances of finishing in the top eight and give us a more positive outlook to prepare for next season.'
The club's leading goalscorer didn't just deliver a call to action for his teammates. He also sent a heartfelt plea to the supporters as well. With one final hurdle remaining, Lilepo asked fans to turn up in numbers and energise the squad.
'Khosi Nation, once again we need you on Saturday for the last game of the season. Please bring your fantastic energy to help us finish the season strongly. Thank you in advance. Love and Peace,' concluded Kaizer Chiefs star attacker Lilepo.
With tensions high and hopes even higher, all eyes will be on Kaizer Chiefs this weekend. A strong finish could set the stage for a trophy-chasing 2025, and Glody Lilepo has made it clear, the mission is not over yet.
Will the Amakhosi rise to the occasion?

Kaizer Chiefs: Nabi gives assessment after Dutch pre-season tour
Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has explained why some of his players were fatigued during pre-season matches. Amakhosi were recently in the Netherlands for their pre-season training, where they played five matches against Dutch opponents. In those five matches, the Soweto giants only claimed one victory. Nabi said the intense training session was a way to prepare Kaizer Chiefs players to deal with a tough schedule ahead of the 2025/26 season. 'One of the conditions of having a good season is having a good pre-season – that's where the foundation is laid,' Nabi told the club's media. 'We didn't only want quality opponents. We also wanted quantity. Parallel with this, we did some tough physical work at training, even doing double sessions on the day before a match. 'We did this to have the players play games, feeling extremely fatigued. That was not only to prepare the team for the league season but also for the CAF Confederation Cup games, for which we will often have to travel for long hours. That's when players will have to perform while feeling very tired,' he added. 'We even had two sessions the day after one of the friendlies, with the objective of getting the players mentally ready. That's also why we organised back-to-back matches twice, playing a friendly two days in a row. It allowed us as well to give maximum opportunities to all the players to get minutes,' said the Kaizer Chiefs coach. Amakhosi will play in front of their home crowd this pre-season when they play Asante Kotoko in the Toyota Cup next weekend. WATCH: Mofokeng rounds keeper to seal first pre-season win for Orlando Pirates
Relebohile Mofokeng came off the bench to secure a 2-0 victory for Orlando Pirates against Granada on Saturday evening in Spain. This match was the Buccaneers' fourth and final pre-season game, and they needed a strong performance to boost their confidence ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season. After losing their first match against Bolton Wanderers last week, Orlando Pirates had played two successive draws before facing Granada. In the first half of the game, the team looked positive and could have taken the lead, but their lack of finishing let them down. In the second half, the Sea Robbers continued to press for a goal, but again struggled with finishing. While the Spanish side also created some chances, they were unable to convert them. Mofokeng was introduced in the second half as Pirates searched for the winner. Their persistence paid off when Patrick Maswanganyi blasted a shot past the Granada keeper after the ball fell at his feet. The Buccaneers continued to push for a second goal, which came in the 90th minute when Relebohile dribbled past the keeper, giving Orlando Pirates their first victory of the pre-season. Having played in four matches in Spain, 'President Ya Ma 2000' scored two times. The 20-year-old has recently been in the spotlight regarding his future, and this match may have been his last in Pirates colours.
