Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Is Disha Vakani set to return as Dayaben? Check Nidhi Bhanushali's 'honest' reaction
Nidhi Bhanushali talks about Disha Vakani's return
In a recent interview with News 18, Nidhi Bhanushali was asked if she would like to see Disha Vakani return to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Answering this question, the young actress expressed how it should be Disha's decision and whatever she decides, the audience should respect her decision.
Nidhi Bhanushali said, "I honestly don't think that's for any of us to decide. It's her life, her journey, and only she gets to choose what she wants to do with it."
The Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame continued, "As much as the audience and all of us who love her may wish for her comeback, the only thing we should do is respect her decision, support her unconditionally, and wish her the very best. We owe her that, for all the years of laughter, love, and magic she gave us through her presence."
Earlier, in a conversation with us, Nidhi was asked about her experience of working with Disha and said, "Agar mei unko bolu ki muje apna kidney nikal ke de do, voh de dengi. (If I tell her to give me her kidney, she will give it.) Extremely generous and kind."
The audience misses seeing Disha Vakani as Dayaben. Her fun banter with Jethalala (played by Dilip Joshi), her graba, her enthusiasm, everything is missing from the show.
Speaking about Nidhi, the actress played was roped in to play the lead role of Sonu (Sonalika Bhide) after Jheel Mehta's exit. She was a part of the sitcom from 2012 to 2019. After Nidhi's exit, Palak Sindhwani stepped in to play the character.

The Scratch and Sniff Chronicles: Book mixes Bengali mystery with gothic flair
Agency: PTI Last Updated: New Delhi, Jul 20 (PTI) Blending elements of Bengal's detective tradition with gothic fiction, a new book promises a gripping whodunnit laced with humor and unexpected twists and turns. 'The Scratch and Sniff Chronicles", published by Niyogi Books, is written by Singapore-based writer Hemangini Dutt Majumder. 'Murder mysteries are my happy place. I unabashedly love every trope related to the whodunnit style. That said, the germ of this novel really came from the lead protagonist Olympia Ghoshal Chattergé, or Ollie, the likable doofus, who has lived in my head for several years. '… I thought it would be fascinating to flip the script and make her condition a sort of super-power rather than an affliction," Majumder, who previously authored children's book 'The Mystery of the Many, Many Missing Things", said in a statement. The story follows Ollie, a young woman with an uncanny sense of smell, an unusual symptom of a health condition, and a rare female wine sommelier and beverage consultant. Her life changes quite dramatically when she and her entire family decide to relocate to their ancestral estate, Neelbari, in Chandannagar, where strange and mysterious incidents begin to unfold. 'Is the malevolent spirit of her great-grandmother really haunting Neelbari? And why has their arrival caused so much alarm? What secrets are the walls and gardens of the hundred-year-old estate hiding? Why does no one seem to be telling the truth? What follows is a gripping whodunnit with ample doses of humour and delicious twists and turns?" are among the questions that unravel in the story. The book is endorsed by the likes of celebrated writer and Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) co-director Namita Gokhale and former diplomat TCA Raghavan. While Raghavan lauds Majumder for bringing to life a 'lovable but eccentric Bengali family with wit and empathy", Gokhale described the novel as a 'multilayered literary tribute to the classical Bangla whodunnit". 'It is an olfactory journey through stories and spectres and scary situations," she added. The book, priced at Rs 495, is available for purchase across online and offline stores. Salman Khan's Battle Of Galwan Set To Go On Floors This August: Report
Salman Khan will star in "Battle of Galwan," directed by Apoorva Lakhia, about the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. Filming starts in August in Mumbai, then Ladakh. After the release of Sikandar, Salman Khan is gearing up for his next major project titled Battle of Galwan. The war drama, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, will depict the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops which was one of the most intense military confrontations in recent years. According to a new report now, the filming is expected to begin in early August. Sources close to the production revealed to Mid-Day that the shoot will start in Mumbai before moving to Ladakh. A large set is currently being constructed at Mehboob Studio, which is expected to be ready by the end of July. 'The Mehboob Studio schedule is crucial as [the team] has to shoot some of the early character-building moments there before the team heads to Ladakh for the high-octane action. The art and production design team has been working round the clock to recreate the textures inside the studio. It's a detailed set that will add authenticity to the story," a source shared, confirming that Salman will be present from the first day of shoot. The next leg of filming will shift to Ladakh, where the team is preparing for more physically demanding sequences. 'Salman has been in prep mode for the role since May," another insider told the publication. The Ladakh schedule reportedly involves night shoots, combat training, and full-scale battle sequences. Speaking earlier about his preparation for the role, Salman admitted it has been tough on his body. 'It's physically intense. With each passing year, month, and day, it becomes more challenging. I have to invest a lot more time now. Earlier, I could get into shape in just a week or two, but this time I'm running, kicking, punching — doing it all," he said. Battle of Galwan is tentatively scheduled for a May 2026 release, although an official announcement is still awaited. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
