How the zombie victim of the gangland Contract Crew came back from the dead after he was shot in the head and buried in a shallow bushland grave - but then dug himself out and stumbled back to life

A man who crawled out of his own grave after being shot through the eye was captured on CCTV walking into a service station with a bullet lodged in his brain.
The intended murder victim had been targeted by a 'contract crew' of hitmen believed to be responsible for two other shockingly violent attacks within a week.
Police released details of the three crimes - which include a murder and a man having his ear severed during a kidnapping - on Monday as part of a public appeal.
CCTV footage showed a 23-year-old man covered in dirt walking into a service station on Tamborine Street at Jimboomba, 50km south of Brisbane, about 5am on July 21 last year.
The man had been lured from NSW to Queensland where he was shot in the eye and buried but managed to climb out of a shallow grave.
He arrived at the service station with a bullet in his brain but asked shocked staff not to call emergency services.
An employee who came to the man's aid said 'he had severe facial injuries, including his eye socket'.
'He came and asked for a taxi and I said, "Are you sure you don't want an ambulance?" the employee revealed. 'He said, "No please, no ambulance".'
The man can be seen in the CCTV footage slumped over before he was taken to hospital, where the bullet was removed from his brain.
Homicide Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Joe Doueihi said it was a miracle the man had survived.
'He was buried in a shallow grave,' Detective Superintendent Doueihi said.
'Unbeknown to the offenders, who believed he was deceased, the male crawled out of the grave.'
Detective Superintendent Doueihi said it had been established the man was lured over the border by a group of males, 'not knowing what their ulterior motive was'.
The day before the man was shot, a white Hyundai Getz was captured on CCTV at a roadhouse in Nambucca on the NSW mid-north coast about 5.30am.
Four male passengers - one believed to be the victim - were seen in the footage, suggesting the man had been picked up from NSW.
Detective Superintendent Doueihi said the man's shooting and the two other violent attacks took place in a six-day period between July 19 and July 25.
'We will allege that this syndicate that's responsible for these three offences are linked to a Victorian drug trafficking syndicate,' he said.
Rich 'Dylan' Choup, 32, was reported missing in Sydney in July 2024 before his body was found in bushland at Lucas Heights in August. He is pictured left with an unidentified man who slapped him before he disappeared
'We do believe that this particular crew, or crews, were contracted to conduct these activities.
'We do not believe that they are offshore. We believe they are still within the country.'
Det Supt Doueihi said the survivors of the attacks were not fully cooperating with police.
'But they are talking to us, to a certain extent,' he told reporters.
'The investigation remained somewhat covert for a period of time in order to progress the investigation to where we are now.
'It wasn't an appropriate time back in July last year to release this information. We are at a stage now where we're happy to release the information.'
Police also released footage capturing the final moments of a young father who was shot and killed by the same group.
Rich 'Dylan' Choup was reported missing on July 29 last year and was last seen involved in a dispute at Cabramatta, in south-west Sydney, on July 25.
Mr Choup had told friends he had a meeting and asked them to wait close by.
CCTV showed Mr Choup with a man on Railway Parade who ordered him towards a car after slapping him about 6.25pm.
Both men were seen walking towards a grey Audi SQ2 before Mr Choup was reported missing four days later.
On August 31, police were called to bushland off Heathcote Road in Lucas Heights after trail bike riders stumbled upon human remains, which were later identified to be those of Mr Choup.
A post-mortem discovered he had been fatally shot and the top of his right ear had been severed.
Police said a 31-year-old man was kidnapped and tortured at Canley Vale, in south-west Sydney, before he was released the same day, on July 19.
Part of his right ear was severed, but the man did not make a report to police.
Anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Football pair plead guilty to match-fixing over yellow cards

Two professional footballers have admitted in court to engaging in betting corruption after they were paid by criminals to earn yellow cards during games. Ulises Davila, former captain of Australian A-League side Macarthur Bulls and midfielders Kearyn Baccus and Clayton Lewis were charged in May 2024 with manipulating yellow cards during games in 2023 and 2024. Davila, 33, allegedly acted as the contact between the southwest Sydney club's players and a criminal group in Colombia, organizing for the yellow cards to occur during particular games. Baccus, 33, and Lewis, 27, were allegedly paid up to 10,000 Australian dollars ($6,550) by Davila to deliberately try to receive the referee-issued cautions for foul play. Baccus and Lewis pleaded guilty in a Sydney court to engaging in conduct that corrupts the betting outcome of an event. A second charge of participating in a criminal group was withdrawn. Lewis had previously pleaded not guilty to both charges, but reversed his plea to one of the charges after negotiating with prosecutors. The pair will face sentencing in September. Davila has not yet entered pleas to the nine charges he faces. He will return to court next month. Police said the betting scheme led to hundreds of thousands of dollars being paid out in winnings. All players were stood down by the league. Davila's contract with Macarthur FC was terminated shortly after his arrest. Baccus was released by the Bulls during the 2024 offseason and Lewis remains suspended.

Eshays slammed over unbelievable act at a food court as locals fume over infuriating problem gripping their Sydney

A group of eshays have been labelled 'idiots' after footage emerged of them riding e-bikes through a busy food court. A shocked shopper filmed the outrageous act unfold outside George Street Event Cinemas, in Sydney 's CBD. The footage was shared to Reddit on Wednesday and showed four teens recklessly cruising past as shoppers looked on in muted astonishment. Social media users were unimpressed by the incident, taking aim at the infuriating abundance of e-bikes in the city. 'Am I the only person that really hates the things?' one said. 'They have made central Sydney look like a scrap dealer's yard.' 'As great an innovation that they are, e-scooters and bikes are going to cause more and more problems in the hands of idiots,' another said. The rise of share bikes and scooters in Australian cities in recent years has sparked concerns about cluttered footpaths, anti-social behaviour and safety of pedestrians. Last week, a 14-year-old boy died after he fell from an e-bike in Sydney, while accidents involving the modes of transport rose 300 per cent from 2023 to 2024. Lime is the company that operates the e-bikes and more than 1million of them and e-scooters are used by NSW locals, but the government is putting in place regulations after an inquiry looked at their use. It found that parking and pathway obstructions were increasing problems. NSW Transport Minister John Graham said last month that a set of rules would encourage the benefits of e-bikes and e-scooters while ensuring the safety of pedestrians sharing the paths and roads with them. 'We recognise the community's concerns, particularly around device modification, fire risk, discarded shared e-bikes and poor rider behaviour, which is why we're taking action,' he said. There's about 3,000 e-bikes for hire in Sydney while another 1,500 are being used for jobs like food delivery services. Some councils have already taken action due to safety fears with Waverley Council saying it would impound e-bikes if their operators did not reach an agreement to make their use safer and better regulated. Waverley Mayor Will Nemesh said at the time it was being proactive rather than waiting for an accident to happen before taking action. 'While share bikes are a State Government responsibility, Council will not stand by and wait for somebody to be injured,' he said. The riders who went through the food court on Wednesday were not going fast and some Aussies stuck up for the e-bikes. 'I love them. I don't have a car at the moment and getting up to the gym takes four minutes on the e-bike compared to 25 minutes on foot,' one person said. 'They'd be awesome in a country where the general population was mature though to handle it,' another said.
