Sara Ali Khan admits trolling affects her mother Amrita Singh emotionally: ‘I feel very bad... my mom feels bad when she reads about it'
Sara Ali Khan
is no stranger to trolling. From her film choices to her physical appearance, the actress, like many star kids in the industry, has faced her share of online hate. But in a recent interview, Sara admitted that while she's learnt to take the negativity in her stride, it's her mother
Amrita Singh
who finds it harder to ignore.
Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Sara shared how she copes with social media scrutiny, acknowledging that it often affects her mother emotionally. 'It's very wrong. I feel very bad. My mom feels bad when she reads about it. What will I do about it? I can't change it. I can feel bad, but you just have to move on,' she said candidly.
Sara reflected on how people online continue to write insensitive and critical things, regardless of their accuracy or impact.
'Wrong karke kya kar loge? Aap rok doge? Koi likhna bandh kar dega? It's not going to stop. So really, what is the point?' she asked rhetorically.
Learning to be thick-skinned
Despite being under constant public scrutiny, Sara said she's come to terms with the fact that this is part of being a public figure. 'You just have to be thick-skinned. Mom's new vocabulary is thick-skinned,' she shared with a smile. 'The only thing I actually care about is her—like I care that she's reading this.
