The no-nonsense gaffer started his career at Watford in 2011.
But it was a 10-year spell at Burnley where he made his name, taking charge of 425 games at Turf Moor until 2022.
Now, Dyche is hoping to return to the beautiful game with a new club over the summer.
There could be several sides looking for a new manager.

But Dyche admits his dream would be to link up with struggling Man United.
The Red Devils are in the Europa League final against Tottenham, yet their Premier League campaign has been a disaster.
They lie 16th in the table with just 10 wins in 36 outings.
And earlier in the season United sacked Erik ten Hag for Portuguese tactician Amorim.

He has since struggled to get a tune out of the club's big-money flops.
But Dyche has made it perfectly clear he would be willing to try his hand in the Old Trafford dugout should an unexpected change be made shortly.

'I know they are going through a tough run at the minute, but the whole worldwide feel of it. That's a big super-powered club.'
Dyche also dished out some advice to Amorim on how to improve results while claiming he would have done better in the role.
Dyche added: 'Amorim better win some games – pretty quick. I reckon if I went there and played my way, we'd win more games.
'Just 4-4-2 – give them basic rules of principles. They have some good players. You don't have to over teach everyone.

'I'd be interested more in the longer run, if he can stick to his principals and then next season, we're all going, 'Fair play' – but, he's been there a while now so you better start bringing some wins soon.'
Dyche finished by claiming he would have given ex-England boss Gareth Southgate the job over Amorim last year.
He noted: I thought the Manchester United job fitted Gareth [Southgate] really well. Coming out of the hardship of managing your country – because it is hard managing your country.
'The fans and the media can drive [decisions] but sometimes you've got to be brave enough. Think of all the managers down the years where clubs have been brave.'

It's always interesting to see Irish players move away from the UK. For too long Irish players have limited their horizons to our neighbours across the Irish Sea but in recent years we've seen more players move into continental Europe including Evan Ferguson's loan move to Roma. Ferguson, still only 20, has had a rough time in the Premier League after making his initial breakthrough, most recently going on loan to West Ham where he struggled for games at the London Stadium. However he's now made the move to the Italian capital where he has the chance to get away from the Irish and British media and concentrate on his football. Ireland actually has a decorated history of players who have played in the Italian top flight so here's a brief look at some Irish players to have made an impact in Italy. Pic: Fabio Rossi/AS Roma via Getty Images While Sloan isn't the first player to have played in Serie A (that possibly goes to Matts Kunding who played for both Turin sides Torino and Juventus) Sloan is the first that has confirmed Serie A appearances. Born in Armagh, Sloan made a name for himself at Arsenal before moving to AC Milan in 1948. He scored nine goals in 30 appearance in a season in Milan and became known as 'The Tiger'. He would leave the Rossineri after one season and played for Torino, Brescia and Udinese before returning to the UK in 1951. It would be over 30 years before another Irishman lined out in Serie A and when Liam Brady stepped onto the field in Turin to make his Juventus debut in 1980, few in Dublin could've imagined the impact he would have in Italy. He's considered one of the best English speakers to ever play in Serie A, won two Scudetti (league) titles, scoring the decisive penalty to win it in 1982, and played for Sampdoria, Inter Milan and Ascoli before leaving Italy a legend in 1987. The Tallaght man is has over 100 Premier League goals but before he become a legend at White Hart Lane, Keano embarked on an exciting journey to Milan to play for Inter, moving there for £13million from Coventry in 2000. However Keane's time at the San Siro wouldn't be as successful as Brady's. Keane lasted six months, scoring three goals in 14 games for Inter before going to Leeds United on loan in January 2001. Ebosele made the move to the very north of Italy in 2022 after impressing at Derby County while Abankwah made a name for himself in the League of Ireland, lining out for St Pats as a 17-year old. Both were farmed out on loan to Udinese's sister club Watford with Abankwah re-signing with The Hornets for next season while Ebosele has chosen to continue his career in Europe with Istanbul Basaksekir. There's also a number of youth players who have played in Italy in recent years without playing in the Serie A. These players include the likes of Kevin Zefi, Justin Ferizaj and Cathal Heffernan to name a few. This is a great opportunity for Ferguson to restore his reputation after as couple of rough seasons. The Serie A has been kind to ex-Premier League players in recent seasons where the likes of Scott McTominay and Ademola Lookman have revitalised their careers in Italy. You can bet that a Ferguson Roma jersey is going to be one of the most popular kits in Ireland for this season too.

O'Brien urges Shels to mirror Tipp in Champions League clash
Shelbourne are preparing to take on Qarabag in the first-leg of their second round of Champions League qualifiers on Wednesday evening. If Shelbourne manage to knock-out the Azerbaijani side in this round, they will be guaranteed a place in a European competition later this year. However, it may be a tough task with Qarabag strong favourites after making the group stages of European competitions for the last 11 years running. Shelbourne boss Joey O'Brien knows his side won't back down. If Shelbourne are knocked-out at this stage, they will face a tough Europa League third-round qualifier against the defeated side of the match between HNK Rijeka of Croatia and Ludogorets 1945 from Bulgaria. If Joey O'Brien's side then fall at that hurdle, they will have a final chance to get into Europe in a Conference League play-off. However, the new boss insists that his players are well up for the challenge and have no intention of bowing out early. He said: 'Underdogs …. Irish people in general love that, don't they? Watching the hurling there at the weekend and it was the underdogs that won it. 'The level of competition has gone up. Qarabag have made the group stages for 10 or 11 years. They have shown their class. Their individual players are unbelievable. 'Some have come and gone but their style of play is the same. They still have very good players. O'Brien's side are fresh off their 2-1 aggregate victory over Northern Irish side Linfield in the first-round last week, but they got their first taste of VAR scrutiny in the away leg. The Reds had a well-worked set-piece goal from Kerr McInroy chalked off deep in first-half stoppage time due to a pull of a jersey at the back post and O'Brien admitted that they will have to be more subtle with their use of the dark arts when the cameras are involved. He added: 'The big one was last week because after Linfield equalised, we went straight back up the pitch just before half-time to score from a worked set-play. 'Most of the time you'd get away with it. The dressing room was a bit flat from the emotion of it. It took a bit of an edge off us but the lads managed the second-half well.' He also admitted that the presence of VAR may lead to the side rethinking some of their set-piece routines. O'Brien continued: 'Set-plays are such a massive part of the game and I've had a huge focus on that over the last number of years. You see how important set-plays are, at all levels. They decide so many big games and so many moments in big games. 'You see results in England and Europe and it could be 2-0, 3-0 or 4-0 but the first or second goal could be a set-play and it could have broken the spirit of the opposition. 'So set-plays are massive. Both sides of it, defending and attacking and over this tie and going forward, we need to be on the money in both boxes.' Shelbourne have already banked €1.71million so far from their European journey and that will effectively soar to €4million if they manage to produce an upset against Qarabag.
