Mufti: Berlin Conference is a deception by Libya's enemies
Speaking on Tanasuh TV on Wednesday, the Mufti said the countries meeting in Berlin are Western powers that control Libya's fate. He blamed participants of the Skhirat Agreement for Libya's past and present suffering.
"All the evil inflicted on the Libyan people—aggression, plundering of wealth and resources, stripping of freedoms and sovereignty, prisons, arbitrary arrests, and standing with the enemy—as happened recently with the blockade of the convoy aiming to aid our brothers in Palestine—its burden lies with the figures of Skhirat who committed their act and then disowned it." He said.
He questioned the outcome of the Berlin meeting, saying: "They will present us with the same production… the same figures will reappear in a new form, just like with Sarraj and the transitional governments." He asserted that 'Western countries know the right solution for Libya, but they deliberately seek to prolong the suffering and occupation.'
"There is no enmity between the Americans and Russians, nor among Europeans—all of them are united in exploiting us. We face a Russian invasion brought by Haftar, Aguila Saleh, and the agents of the Zionists. We also face infiltration by regional countries through their intelligence services—all because of Berlin." The Mufti added.
The Mufti called on the Libyan people to take to the streets in massive numbers to denounce what he described as a conspiracy. His remarks coincided with the third Berlin Conference, held under UN auspices and involving key international and regional players in the Libyan file, including Egypt, the UAE, the United States, Russia, Germany, France, Italy, and the African Union.
The conference is not merely consultative—it is seen as an attempt to impose a new transitional roadmap, following the failure of all domestic Libyan initiatives to reach consensus on a constitutional basis and the continued deadlock in UN-led efforts to organize long-overdue elections. High Council of State calls on AG to probe illegal 50-dinar banknotes
The High Council of State (HCS) has called on Libya's Attorney General (AG) to launch a comprehensive and independent judicial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the issuance of 50-dinar banknotes outside the legal framework. The Council urged the identification of legal responsibilities and the implementation of necessary measures to protect public funds and safeguard the financial system. The HCS emphasized that issuing national currency is an exclusive mandate of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), and any breach of this mandate constitutes a serious violation of monetary sovereignty, rendering the perpetrators legally accountable. It described the printing of large quantities of 50-dinar notes outside official channels—whether in the UK or Russia—as 'null and void under the law.' The HCS held fully accountable all individuals or institutions involved in, facilitating, or covering up the unauthorized printing—whether inside financial institutions or outside them. It called for clearly identifying both institutional and personal responsibility and for holding anyone who breached their duties or exceeded their authority accountable. It further warned that injecting large sums of cash outside the official financial system had caused disruptions in the currency market, increased inflation, and devalued the Libyan dinar—burdening citizens, weakening their purchasing power, and eroding trust in the state's financial system. On Sunday, the Central Bank of Libya announced that it had detected 3.5 billion dinars from the second issuance of 50-dinar notes printed in Russia and withdrawn from circulation, which were not recorded in the records of its Benghazi branch. The CBL said a preliminary count and sorting process showed that 6.65 billion dinars had been issued from this batch, while approximately 10.211 billion dinars were deposited into the CBL. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, described the discovery of this unaccounted-for currency as a serious issue affecting the core of Libya's economic stability—its national currency—and impacting people's lives and livelihoods. He called on the Attorney General to immediately launch a full investigation and hold all those involved in what he called a 'crime that cannot be ignored or tolerated' accountable.

Turkish Ministry of Defense hosts 3 military technical delegations from Libya's east
The Turkish Ministry of Defense revealed on Tuesday that three military delegations affiliated with Haftar's forces in eastern Libya visited Turkey, following the visit by the Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces, Saddam Khalifa Haftar, to Ankara on April 4th. In a statement published on its Facebook page, the ministry said: "Following the official visit of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan National Army's Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, to our country on April 4, 2025, three military technical teams from eastern Libya visited Turkey between June 15–28, 2025.' The ministry explained that the Libyan military delegations toured various headquarters, units, and educational institutions under its authority, expressing hope that these visits would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between the two sides. It reaffirmed its commitment to continuing support for Libya and cooperating with all Libyan parties, in line with its stance and overarching goal of preserving Libya's unity. It also noted that the Turkish Armed Forces continue to carry out their training and advisory missions in Libya successfully. Saddam Haftar visited Turkey on April 4th at the official invitation of Ankara, where he met with the Chief of Staff of the Turkish Ground Forces Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and several military officials.
