Following the meeting, Barrack offered a brief statement to the press, describing the discussions as "great" and emphasizing the need to remain hopeful.
"We are working steadily toward achieving stability," he said.

'The United States remains ready to support Lebanon, should the government uphold and enforce the state's monopoly on all arms, and that only the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) has the constitutional authority to operate within its borders,' Barrack said in a statement posted on his X account. 'As (U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio) has rightly emphasized, our goal in Lebanon is 'a strong Lebanese state that can take on and disarm Hezbollah,'' Barrack added. 'The United States draws no distinction between Hezbollah's political and military branches. We view the group in its entirety as what it is: a foreign terrorist organization,' he said. 'By contrast, the United States recognizes the LAF as the sole legitimate national military institution and a pillar of Lebanon's sovereignty and the key to securing a stable and prosperous future. It is now incumbent upon Lebanon's political leadership -- and the LAF -- to demonstrate the resolve and political will to, in the words of @POTUS (U.S. President Donald Trump) 'seize a new chance for a future free from the grip of Hezbollah terrorists,'' Barrack added. 'On that path, the United States will stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Lebanon,' he went on to say.

UN nuclear watchdog chief says Iran ready to restart technical conversations
Iran has indicated that it will be ready to restart conversations at a technical level regarding its nuclear program, the head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog said Friday. Iran needs to be transparent about its facilities and activities, Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said in Singapore. Earlier in July, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the country plans to cooperate with the nuclear watchdog despite restrictions imposed by its parliament, while stressing that access to its bombed nuclear sites posed security and safety issues. Hezbollah's Qomati warns of regional conspiracy, urges Lebanese unity
Member of Hezbollah's Political Council and former minister Mahmoud Qomati warned of a "large and dangerous project" targeting the region, stressing that only national unity can protect Lebanon. He said that any attempt to undermine this unity serves Israel and the broader conspiratorial agenda. In remarks delivered during a memorial held by Hezbollah for missing fighter Ali Afif Nahleh, Qomati urged Lebanese citizens to rally around their country and its sovereignty. "Our call today is clear, vital, and significant: we must unite as Lebanese in service of this nation. At the forefront is the resistance, which defends Lebanon's sovereignty. We are not a tool serving any foreign country. We are the arm, strength, and weapon of this nation, and we will defend it in all its diversity. He also cited alleged statements by U.S. envoy Tom Barrack, who he claimed suggested that Lebanon could become part of Greater Syria if it does not comply with Western demands. "These are things that some Lebanese fail to hear because their minds are consumed by hatred and resentment," Qomati said, calling for a unified national stance in the face of growing regional and internal challenges.
