It follows a retired assassin now living in Greece, who reunites with her estranged son when he comes looking for answers.
Long-time soap fans recognised a familiar face among the cast members.
New Zealand star Alan Dale, 78, appears as supporting character Aaron Cross.
Previously, Alan played patriarch Jim Robinson, one of Neighbours' original characters.
One viewer wrote on X: "jim robinson died in neighbours and was reborn as the shady bad guy in every series in the last 2 decades."
He appeared from the Aussie's soap launch in 1985 until leaving the show in 1993.
Jim was also the father of Neighbours stalwart Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis).
The actor briefly reprised this role in 2018 by appearing in a dream to his on-screen son.
After his departure from Neighbours, Alan began working extensively in US television.
He notably had a recurring role as villain Charles Widmore in the sci-fi drama series LOST.
Alan Dale stars in The Assassin on Amazon Prime
Alan appeared in a total of 17 episodes spanning from 2006 until the show's 2010 conclusion.
As well as this, he made prominent appearances in The OC and Ugly Betty.
Earlier this year, The Sun revealed Neighbours would be coming to an end - for a second time.
It came just two years after Amazon brought the soap back to life after it was axed by Channel 5 after 37 years.
The revival started filming in 2023 and was shown on Amazon Freevee worldwide.
Neighbours stars who made it big
The long-running Aussie soap has launched the careers of some of Hollywood's biggest stars. Here are some of the Neighbours alums who went on to make it big after starring on the soap...
Kylie Minogue Before she hit the big time with her music career, Kylie shot to fame playing Charlene Mitchell on Neighbours. Shortly after her arrival, Kylie began an on and off-screen romance with co-star Jason Donovan, who played Scott Robinson, which gained the couple an army of adoring fans.
Jason Donovan After his stint as Scott, singer and actor Jason became an international popstar and had his pick acting of roles. He moved to the U.K., married, had children and has since starred in over a dozen West End show, most notably Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Alan Dale New Zealand born actor Alan was one of Neighbours 12 original cast members having made his debut as Jim Robinson on the soap's first episode on 18 March 1985. As the head of the Robinson clan, widower Jim lived at Number 26 Ramsay Street with his children Paul, Julie, Scott and Lucy, and was a real anchor in the community. He stayed with the show for eight years, before his character was killed off in dramatic scenes aired in 1993 but which still reverberate through the soap to this day.
Margot Robbie Way before she was Barbie or Harley Quinn, Margot was best known as Ramsay Street resident Donna Freedman. Her notable storylines included her marriage to Ringo Brown and becoming a young widow following his tragic death. After three years she bid farewell to the soap and Australia with a plan to make a name for herself in Hollywood which she did when she bagged the role of Naomi Lapaglia opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.
Jesse Spencer Jesse rocked up on Ramsay street in 1994 with the rest of the Kennedy clan. He stayed for five years, literally growing up in front of the camera, but in 2000 felt it was time to spread his wings and head for Hollywood. It was certainly a smart move as he went on to bag leading roles in popular shows like House and Chicago Fire.
Russell Crowe New Zealand-native Russell had a brief arc on Neighbours, appearing in four episodes of the soap 1987 as Kenny Larkin, the former cellmate of Street resident Henry Ramsay. The role obviously got him noticed though because he quickly went on to become a fully-fledged Hollywood A-lister, winning the Best Actor Oscar for his standout performance as Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius in Gladiator.
The Sun exclusively revealed that Amazon have told Fremantle that their venture into soaps hasn't worked and they are pulling funding
A source said at the time: 'Amazon gave Fremantle two years to see if it worked but sadly they just didn't get the viewers.
'It's a really sad day especially for the cast and crew who work on the show in Melbourne.
'This really is the end of Neighbours just as it's celebrated it's 40th birthday.'

Inside Celebrity SAS star Adam Collard's 'dream' relationship with partner
Adam Collard is back on the small screen tonight with a new season of Celebrity SAS, but the prolific reality TV star also enjoys a high-profile romance. The Love Island star, 29, made a name for himself on various dating shows until he met 38-year-old football presenter Laura Woods, best known as the face of ITV's Euros coverage over the past two years. Laura shone when she presented coverage of the 2023 Women's World Cup for the channel. Not only that, but she is also a TNT Sports and Amazon Prime Video presenter after spending several years as a boxing pitch-side reporter with Gary Neville on Sky Sports. Meanwhile, as well as stints on Love Island and Celebs Go Dating, Adam is also a fitness guru and founder of Sculpt Fitness. But what has he said about his long-term relationship with partner Laura Woods? Fitness coach and former Islander (in 2018 and 2022) Adam, 28, has been dating Laura since 2023. They confirmed their romance by making things Instagram official in October 2023. It was Celebs Go Dating star Adam who revealed he actually slid into Laura's DMs first but left her on read after she replied. However, sparks started to fly once they met in person and things got pretty serious rather quickly, with Adam declaring her 'the one' as their relationship became public knowledge. The couple frequently share loved-up photos together, with Adam sharing a sweet photo dump in May dedicated to his girlfriend, which he dubbed 'a little bit of everything'. It included photos of them on holiday together, training together and with the dog, with plenty of cuddles in between. In July 2024, the pair shared the happy news that they were expecting their first baby together. Just weeks later, in September, they took their relationship to the next step by getting engaged. At the start of this year, Adam and Laura celebrated the birth of their baby boy, Leo Ernie Collard, as friends and family flooded their social media with warm wishes. In an interview with the Mirror, Adam said about his fiancée: 'She's amazing and we are having a lot of fun. It feels like I'm living the dream. 'I would never get in a relationship with someone at least at one point [unless] I thought they were The One.' And when asked about the age gap by OK! Magazine, added: 'Perhaps that's what I've always been seeking: an older woman. 'It's something that works for me. But Laura isn't really an 'older woman'. If you meet her and spend time with her… I've dated younger people who don't act as maturely as she does! Age never factored into our relationship, it's been smooth sailing from the start.' Elsewhere in the same chat, he spoke about his dreams to be his children's 'best friend' like he was with his father and plans to have no more than two kids otherwise he 'might stuggle'. The pair have also faced hardships in their relationship, as Adam opens up about on the Celebrity SAS. He explained that Laura had been 11 weeks pregnant when she experienced a miscarriage (she felt pregnant with their son Leo a month later). Reflecting on the impact of miscarriage, he said: 'I know it's a terrible way to look at it, but I felt like it was bad karma for me being on dating shows and upsetting too many people. 'I felt like that was some high power's way of being like, 'Well, there you go, that's what you have to carry',' he said, per the Mail Online. He added that he was a 'love rat jumping from girl to girl. I want to show I'm not that man any more.' Prior to Adam being her boyfriend, Laura had a long-term relationship with a professional athlete. She dated former England rugby player Alex Corbisiero for eight years. Meanwhile, Adam's exes include Zara McDermott, who he was coupled up with during his first stint on Love Island in 2018, before moving onto an on-off relationship with Sarah Godfrey. His second appearance on Love Island in 2022 saw Adam pair off with paramedic Paige Thorne, with the relationship continuing for a few months outside of the villa, while he also had a fling with model Lottie Moss, Kate Moss's younger sister, after they appeared together on Celebs Go Dating. In May 2024, Laura sustained gruesome injuries from a freak pillow accident forced her 'off the tele' and to miss anchoring Tyson Fury's fight with Oleksandr Usyk for TNT Sports. The popular presenter required emergency surgery after a glass lampshade shattered above her and the glass cut her face and arms, narrowly missing her eyes. She explained at the time that the incident happened as she swung a pillow at a holiday cottage. In her post revealing her injuries she praised Adam 'for being my hero that day' as he acted 'so quickly' and didn't leave her side. Laura also praised the doctors who treated her as she continued: 'I've added in the photos from then to now to show that even though it may look rough, it's such a wonderful improvement already and I'm so grateful. More Trending 'It was a hell of a shock and I've been a bit sad, but I'm feeling very lucky it wasn't worse. So a big thanks to my eyebrow too, for taking the brunt of it.' Adam later angrily hit back at trolls who alleged he had hit his girlfriend, telling one commenter to 'shut up' and 'read her Instagram post'. Airing across eight one-hour episodes, the seventh series of Celebrity SAS can be streamed or watched live every Sunday and Monday on Channel 4, starting on August 3. Harry Potter event loved by millions of film buffs & celebs like Jude Law AXED for good…leaving fans' lives ‘ruined'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) HARRY Potter fans will be crying into their butter beers as an annual Kings Cross tradition has been permanently axed, The Sun can reveal. The 'back to Hogwarts' gathering took place every September 1 at the London train station, attracting thousands of Potterheads - many in full costume. A sign would also appear on the departure boards signalling the train going to "Hogsmeade" the town near where Hogwarts is located. In 2018, Hollywood stars Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law even attended to promote Potter spin-off movie Fantastic Beasts 2. However, last year fans booed when the fun public address failed to take place - and now we can reveal it will not return next month. National Rail said the event had attracted far too many crowds and had posed issues for genuine travellers getting their trains. A spokesperson said the last full gathering in 2023 saw thousands of people turn up 'which made it challenging for us as station operator'. They have now confirmed to The Sun: 'It is the same for this year, in that we won't be hosting the event at the station.' Instead, organisers Wizarding World and Warner Bros Discovery are putting on an online alternative this September 1. Writing on Facebook, fans were hopeful last year was just a blip. They said at the time: 'It's so sad that this was cancelled… nice to have traditions as most things have been ruined these days.' Another added: 'It brings people together.' JK Rowling hails BBC host for refusing to say 'pregnant people' live on air And another: 'It's awful they took a small piece of fun away, life's too short." A third said: 'It was so nice that the station used to actually announce this, such fun. But I can see why they decided to end this - way too many people and too much of a disruption for a real train station.' The Potterverse is currently experiencing a boost in popularity with the upcoming Amazon-produced series, which began filming last month. The book series, written by Rowling, began with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, released in 1997, to huge commercial success. The first film, starring Daniel Radcliffe in the title role, came out in 2001. There are a total of seven books and eight films, ending in 2011. The franchise has since continued to grow exponentially, including the WB studio tour at Leavesden Studios, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter sections within Universal theme parks in Orlando, Hollywood, Japan and Beijing. More than 23 million passengers started or ended their journey at Kings Cross in 2022, according to Railway Data. A Warner Bros. Discovery spokesperson said: "Similar to last year, we can confirm that there will be no Back to Hogwarts event, announcement, or countdown at Kings Cross Station, and fans should not plan to go there on 1st September. "We have plenty of fun in store for fans celebrating Back to Hogwarts however, both online and in person. "Plans include a special free screening of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, with a live Q&A with James and Oliver Phelps, special giveaways, competitions and more." 9 Thousands of fans turn up for the event each year Credit: PA 9 Crowds watch on at the station - with 'magical' suitcases seen in the background Credit: Getty 9 Law and Redmayne attended the event to promote Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald Credit: Getty Images - Getty 9 A Potter fan on Platform 9 and 3/4 Credit: Alamy

CGD agents breaks silence on ‘romance' with Olivia Hawkins and Louis Russell after stars spotted kissing on away trip
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE CELEBS Go Dating agents have broken their silence on Olivia Hawkins and Louis Russell breaking the reality show's rules. Love Island star Olivia, 30, and Too Hot To Handle's Louis, 24, hit it off after landing in Ibiza to film the E4 show and were spotted snogging poolside. Brunson admitted Olivia's biggest dating dilemma was her 'self worth' Credit: Nic Serpell-Rand / Channel 4 In an exclusive interview, love gurus Anna Williamson, Paul C. Brunson and Dr Tara revealed what really happened between Olivia and Louis when The Sun visited the Celebs Go Dating agency ahead of the new series. Anna said: "I mean celebrity on celebrity, every series there's always a few cross eyes, aren't there?" As it stands, it is very much a dot dot dot." The agents admitted Olivia and Louis naturally gravitated towards each other after the first mixer. "Every time we're in a big mixer, it's always interesting to see how the celebrities start to bond and it's always interesting that this is a show which is very exposing - they come in and they're full of nerves naturally and what happens when that happens? You tend to gravitate to people that are in your proximity, so it's not unusual of course, I think celebs like to stick together," Anna revealed. "Sometimes we see looks here and there, but whether they turn into anything... is really time will tell." In the past, hook-ups between co-stars were frowned upon, but now the experts embrace it if there's a chance it can lead to a genuine connection. Anna continued: "This is real life as well, it's something we don't necessarily advocate but then again it's real life and the celebrities know that if there's a genuine attraction - if it's just a safety, we'll notice it and call it out. "But we'll always observe from the sidelines and if anything feels like it needs jumping in on, then we will." While Paul agreed and said there is a deeper psychology behind why celebrities form romantic connections on the show. Paul shared: "I think an important note on this, is that we typically do what we feel is safe and low risk but it's not always the best thing for us. Inside the Celebs Go Dating house with Anna Williamson and Dr. Tara ahead of the new series "You'll see that celebrities have this repetition of doing what is safe and that is ending up matching or thinking they are going to match together, because it is very safe, of course you're going to see it. "They're two very compelling people individually. Sex and relationship expert Dr Tara insisted the point of the show is to encourage the celebrities to step outside their comfort zone. She said: "It's Celebrity Dating Agency, not Celebrity Dating each other agency, so we always try to encourage them to explore and expand and learn new things and learn about new people and not just stay within a comfort zone, we give them a big push to try new things." Olivia, who appeared on Love Island in 2023, before returning for the All Stars series in 2025, was unlucky-in-love both times. The brunette beauty said fellas never ask her out after she was first painted as a troublemaker in the villa. In fact, the beauty, who has been an actress and a ring girl, claims she has never had a proper 'boyfriend', in a recent interview with The Sun. Paul admitted the Liv's biggest dating dilemma was her "self worth". He said they welcomed every celebrity to the agency with a "clean slate", despite public perceptions. Paul said: "I think there's an assumption that we identify with the publics perception of the celebrity. "I think it's an important point to note, that typically we're unaware of that public perception and we try to give everyone a clean slate, whether we're familiar with them or not. "The idea is that you come in and you start fresh with us. That allows us to prejudge or place inappropriate values in certain areas. "Liv is that exact person, she came in clean slate." Olivia and Louis had swapped flirty messages on social media ahead of the trip and later were seen kissing by a pool, with an insider said the sexual chemistry was very obvious. LOUIS NEW GIRL Despite hopes of a romance between Louis and Olivia, just days ago he stepped out with his famous new girlfriend. Louis posed on the red carpet holding hands with Love Island US star Huda Mustafa as they attended a film premiere in Los Angeles. Only a few days ago, the pair were spotted in London together just days after the Love Island US star left the villa. Huda made waves during this years Love Island USA when she revealed to the cast she was a mum and became one of the shows most followed islanders. The new series kicks off on August 11th at 9pm and it will include TV personality Kerry Katona, Love Island's Olivia Hawkins, comedian and CBB star Donna Preston, and Too Hot To Handle's Louis Russell giving it their best shot at the dating agency. And things between Louis and Olivia quickly get steamy. A show insider revealed: 'It usually takes a few weeks for things to spice up but not with these two. 'Within 48 hours of arriving in Ibiza the sexual spark between them was obvious. "They clearly couldn't resist each other.'
