Primark's 'sleek' £12 shoes look 'just like' £330 designer version
The Primark shoes bear a striking resemblance to a much more expensive pair from a designer brand
Primark is stocking a pair of shoes that bear a striking resemblance to a pricier alternative. Known for its affordable fashion and homeware, the high street giant may have just introduced a new crowd-pleaser.
The retailer's Satin Toe Post Mules look similar to a style by brand TOTEME, but at a fraction of the cost. Shoppers can snag the Primark version for £12, while the designer version is priced at £330 online.
The shoes are very similar, with matching flip flop straps, kitten heels and a red colour palette. They also both have a sleek design with a black base.
However, there are some slight differences. The more expensive shoes are made with 100% leather and feature suede straps, while Primark's are synthetic and have satin straps.
The designer shoes also have a more squared toe, while the Primark shoes are rounded.
Primark's version are described as "satin mules with toe post, crossover straps and a low kitten heel." They're available in red or black, in sizes three to eight.
Primark's full description reads: "Slip into something sleek with these satin toe post mules. In a bold red shade, they're designed with delicate straps - including a toe post and two crossover bands for a minimal look with just enough detail.
"The smooth satin finish gives them a touch of polish, while the low kitten heel adds a subtle lift without sacrificing comfort. Whether you're dressing up denim or finishing a night-out look, these sandals keep things simple, stylish and easy to wear."
The designer description states: "The elevated simplicity of TOTEME's collections ensures you'll return to its designs year after year. These sandals are made from suede with flip flop straps, sleek square toes and 25mm kitten heels."
The Primark shoes retail for £12, while the TOTEME Flip Flop Suede Sandals come in at £339. This means shoppers could save around £318 by opting for the bargain version.
Customers can grab the Primark shoes, in red or black, in stores now. You can check availability at your nearest store or order Click and Collect here.

Asda aims to overtake Primark as it doubles down on fashion
Supermarket giant Asda wishes to take over Primark in the realm of fashion retail, with its clothing division now said to be leading its ongoing turnaround plan. Speaking to The Telegraph, Liz Evans, the managing director of Asda's clothing brand George, said the company's 'long-term goal' was to challenge budget retailer Primark's leading position in terms of volume. Asda currently sits behind Next at third place in this respect, yet leads in the way of kidswear. Evans, who joined Asda in 2022, said there was 'clarity, belief and teamwork' under chairman Allan Leighton, who returned to his role last year. Since then, Evans has seen a sharper focus on core customers through pricing and a 'relentless focus on fixing availability'. 'We've invested back into hours and the stores, and you can feel it. Allan has referenced the turnaround as Everest, and he's right. We're at the start of recovery,' Evans noted. She added that in recent years performance in adult clothing categories, particularly in womenswear, had been weak, yet George 'wasn't a broken business'. 'But if I look at what we're delivering now, then imagine what we can do when we really get the momentum behind the Asda brand,' Evans commented. While Asda as a whole has experienced a period of financial turbulence, reporting a 600 million pound loss in 2024, its George fashion brand has welcomed stronger financials. In the first quarter of 2025, the label posted a 3.5 percent like-for-like sales increase, outperforming the broader fashion market by a notable 2 percent on volume. Asda has also continued to double down on its focus for the fashion brand, opening its first standalone George store in Leeds and establishing collaborations with public figures, which have helped it to boost its presence.

Beauty fans can also snap up mini spray bottles, a mini compact mirror, a mini pump bottle and loads more. You'll have to be quick if you want to get your hands on the good though, they're sure to sell out quick. "Why do I want it all," one person commented on the viral TikTok. A second agreed: "I'm a sucker for this stuff." "OMG I'm obsessed," another chimed in. Of course, the new mini range isn't the only reason to dash to Primark right now. Fashionistas have also been raving about the shop's "unreal" clothing selection, especially one stylish top. The Bow Detail Peplum Top is priced at just £10 and comes in sizes XS to XL. It comes in three colours - lemon, baby pink or white - and features pretty bow details and a keyhole front. And fashion fans have insisted the peplum silhouette is giving 90s vibes. Describing the new arrivals on the website, the Primark team say: "When sunshine calls, this top answers with all the right details. "Designed in a soft shade, it's sleeveless for easy layering. The fitted bodice flows into a gentle peplum hem with a V-split at the front, adding shape without the fuss. "A keyhole cut out down the centre is finished with bow details for a sweet twist." The top can be dressed up or dressed down for a variety of occasions, making it a versatile addition to your wardrobe. While it will look perfect paired with jeans and trainers for a casual look, it can also be dressed up with a satin midi skirt and sandals for summer days. Why Primark is great for looking expensive on a budget By Clemmie Feildsend, Fabulous Fashion Editor AS someone who's no stranger to grabbing a last-minute outfit from Primark for a night out, it's about time that celebrities started catching on too. For as long as I've been heading out, Primark has been my go-to for those 'I have nothing to wear' moments, rushing in at the last minute to find something perfect. And I'm definitely not alone - on any Friday or Saturday night, you'll find plenty of shoppers doing the same thing, right before closing time. But no matter what, Primark always delivers. Now, Rita Ora is leading the charge, showing that you can snag a designer-worthy look without spending a fortune at high-end stores. While Rita's not rushing in last minute for a red carpet outfit, she's proving you can achieve the same high-impact style for much less. Looking stunning in her tailored suit alongside her mum Vera, Rita fit right in among the other A-listers dripping in Prada, Dior, and Victoria Beckham - if anything, she looked even better than some of the guests at The Fashion Awards. With Myleene Klass and Roxy Horner already jumping on the Primark bandwagon, I'm sure more stars will be following suit soon enough.

Asda plots to overtake Primark in revival push
Asda is plotting to overtake Primark as Britain's biggest clothing retailer, as bosses forge ahead with an ambitious turnaround plan. Allan Leighton, the Asda chairman, is betting that George, the supermarket's clothing brand, can spearhead a broader revival for the company, with up to 100 stores being transformed to make the offering more prominent. George has been a rare bright spot for the struggling supermarket, with clothing continuing to post increasing sales despite Asda's plummeting market share. Mr Leighton has hailed the success of George since he returned as chairman last year, with its strong performance helping to ease financial pressures elsewhere. Liz Evans, the managing director of George, is hoping the influx of new investment will help to propel George beyond Primark as the largest seller of clothes by volume in the UK, up from its current position of third. Next is the second largest. 'That's the long-term goal,' she said. 'We're number one on volume when it comes to kids, but why can't it be possible overall?' The ambition to overtake Primark comes as the low-cost retailer endures a difficult period. Primark suffered its first fall in sales since the pandemic at the end of 2024 and Associated British Foods, which owns the retailer, warned of 'continued consumer caution in the UK' earlier this year. Ms Evans, who joined the business from FatFace in 2022, said there was a renewed sense of 'clarity, belief and teamwork' at Asda since Mr Leighton took charge. He is scrambling to put Asda back on the path to growth following the turbulent tenure of former chief Mohsin Issa between 2021 and 2024, a period that was dogged by claims of cost-cutting and discontent among staff.
