JioStar Business Q1 results: Revenue rises to Rs 11,222 crore, net profit surges 154% YoY to Rs 581 crore
The business benefited from the highly successful IPL 2025 season, which drove growth across both TV and digital platforms. JioStar achieved an EBITDA of ₹1,017 crore for the quarter, reflecting an increase from ₹774 crore last year, with EBITDA margins improving to 10.6% from 8.1% YoY.
JioHotstar continued its momentum, hitting a record 1.04 billion downloads on Android, averaging over 460 million monthly active users during the quarter. Notably, JioHotstar delivered the biggest-ever IPL with a reach of 652 million viewers, representing a 28% YoY growth. The IPL final recorded the highest-ever digital concurrency at 55.2 million and reached 189 million viewers on TV, the biggest audience for an IPL match to date.
The business also strengthened its leadership in linear TV entertainment, with Star Plus retaining the top spot in the Hindi GEC space, and regional channels like Star Pravah, Star Jalsha, and Star Maa maintaining their #1 positions in respective markets.
JioStar's strategic initiatives, sustained leadership, and record-breaking IPL viewership further solidified its position in India's entertainment sector, capturing a 35.5% share of the TV entertainment market during the quarter.
