Germany plan to make better use of Schüller against France
Germany want to make better use of forward Lea Schüller in the women's Euro 2025 quarter-finals against France on Saturday.
"That's the focus. Lea has an impressive goal tally. She's a striker who doesn't need to be on the ball often to be efficient," assistant coach Maren Meinert said in a news conference on Tuesday.

The Bayern Munich striker has scored a total of 54 goals in 78 international matches, but two goals at the current Euros in Switzerland.
"We want to bring Lea into the game, she's an incredibly important player who scores goals with very few touches," midfielder Sjoeke Nüsken said.
"If we can improve the quality of our crosses and set Lea up better, then we hope she'll score more goals," she added.
So far, the record Euros winners Germany have relied more on wingers Klara Bühl and Jule Brand.
"We also have players in defensive midfield who can definitely be dangerous in front of the goal. Of course, we should also utilize that," Meinert said.

After a day and a half off, the team resumed training on Tuesday morning. Coach Christian Wück began with a speech to the players.
He also took captain Janina Minge and her deputy Nüsken aside for a few words.
Germany ended the group stage with a 4-1 defeat to Sweden, their biggest loss at a women's European championship. After the game, the team held a crisis meeting.

ZURICH (AP) — England defender Jess Carter says she has been subject to racial abuse online at the Women's European Championship. Carter came in for a lot of criticism for her performance during England's opening loss to France. And some of that has crossed the line even as the 27-year-old and the Lionesses have reached the semifinals at Euro 2025. 'From the start of the tournament I have experienced a lot of racial abuse,' Carter wrote in an emotional post on Instagram on Sunday. 'Whilst I feel every fan is entitled to their opinion on performance and result I don't agree or think it's ok to target someone's appearance or race.' Carter, who has made 49 appearances for England and plays for Gotham FC, says she will be taking a step back from social media.
