Organized crime charges levelled at alleged drug dealers across Ontario
Three people were busted on drug trafficking and organized crime charges.
In the spring, members of the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) opened an investigation into drug trafficking in Huntsville.

On Thursday, numerous units of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed warrants at several homes Huntsville and Thorold.
A variety of drugs were seized during the searches.
As a result, three people were arrested and have been charged including:
A 34-year-old Thorold woman:
Participating in a criminal organization
Conspiracy
Trafficking in a Schedule I substance
Two counts of failing to comply with recognizance
Possession of Sch I substance
Unauthorized possession of prohibited firearm
Possession of prohibited firearm knowing possession unauthorized
Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Careless storage of a firearm
A 34-year-old Toronto man:
Participating in a criminal organization
Conspiracy
Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime
Two counts of failing to comply with release order
A 64-year-old Huntsville man:
Participating in a criminal organization
Conspiracy
Trafficking in a Schedule I substance
The first two accused were held for a bail hearing. The Huntsville man was released and is to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge later.

Ontario Provincial Police's Almaguin Highlands detachment charged six individuals with impaired driving in July – following a series of separate incidents. Six alleged impaired drivers charged On July 2 at about 7 p.m., officers responded to a collision on Deer Lake Road in Perry Township, where a 32-year-old Emsdale woman was charged with two impaired driving offences. Mid-month, on July 15 at approximately 11:30 p.m., police acted on a traffic complaint on Montreal Avenue in South River, leading to the charges for a 43-year-old local man. The motorist was charged with uttering threats, dangerous operation of a vehicle and impaired driving – with a blood alcohol count above 80. Then, on July 24 at about 10:30 a.m., a 57-year-old man from Windsor was charged following a traffic complaint on Highway 11 in Perry Township. He was also charged with two impaired driving offences. OPP laid charges in two incidents on July 30 – first at 7 p.m., a 78-year-old Mississauga woman was charged with drug-impaired driving after police found her unconscious behind the wheel on Highway 592. Hours later at 9:30 p.m., a 32-year-old man from Armour was stopped on Highway 11 and charged with alcohol impaired driving – with a blood count above 80. The final incident took place at about 11:30 p.m. on July 31 during a R.I.D.E. check on Highway 11 in Burk's Falls, where a 67-year-old Emsdale man was charged with two impaired driving offences. 2 dead after possible drowning northeast of Peterborough: OPP
Two men in their 20s are dead after a possible drowning just northeast of Peterborough, Ont., on Sunday, provincial police say. Peterborough police responded to a call just before 5 p.m. that two people had gone missing in the water at Burleigh Falls in Stony Lake, about 30 kilometres from Peterborough, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said in a news release on Monday. The two people had been reportedly swimming in the area when one fell from the shoreline and appeared to be in distress, police said. Others in the area went into the water to help, but that resulted in a second person going missing. Peterborough police and fire rescue crews searched the water and surrounding area Sunday, but did not find the two missing persons, the OPP said. On Monday, the OPP's underwater search and recovery unit located and recovered their bodies. A Caledon man, 24, and Brampton man, 26, were pronounced dead, police said. Police did not provide more information about the victims in the release.
