'People will ask if Shubman Gill trusts his attack': Ex-England captain on India's declaration delay

NEW DELHI: Former England captain
Nasser Hussain
believes the pressure is firmly on India to push for a win on Day 5 of the second Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test at Edgbaston. With rain delaying the start of play and India needing seven more wickets to level the series, all eyes are on whether
Shubman Gill
's side can seal the deal.
India had reduced England to 72/3 by stumps on Day 4 after setting a mammoth 608-run target, but the rain on the final day has complicated their task.

"There is a lot of pressure on India. You must think a lot of England to set them 600," Hussain said on Sky Sports' broadcast.
"If they get a draw, people will ask why they batted on so long, people will ask whether Gill trusts his attack. I think he does trust his attack but today will show whether they can get those seven wickets or not."
Hussain also highlighted that England, once they resume their innings post rain delay, must continue to play with intent.
"I think the focus is on (picking) the seven wickets rather than the target but also on how England play. They have very rarely been in this situation and openly stated they don't play for draws."
Poll
Who do you think is under more pressure in the final day of the Test?
India
England
"I think they need positive intent and not to go into their shell. You don't want them just blocking but you don't want recklessness either.
It's about winning the series, not just a one-off Test."
Meanwhile, former England cricketer
Mark Butcher
suggested that if rain helps England secure a draw, it should be viewed as a moral victory for Ben Stokes' team.
"I don't think it takes too much of a shift of attitude for England (to contemplate the draw). You could look upon escaping from this game as a win in itself."
India Dominate Day 4! Siraj & Akash Deep Rattle England
"England talk about being in the entertainment business — well, we can all remember entertaining draws, people on the edges of their seats with a wicket needed and three overs left, or whatever it might be. Are the fans going to be more entertained by you falling over in a heap or by you clinging on by your fingernails at the back end of the day?"
"I think we know the answer to that. And I think it would be a massive feather in the cap of this team if they were able to do it. I also think that all the motivation England need was India not declaring until late last night. They are giving you a gilt-edged chance to escape from here without losing a match that they really and truly should have been buried in. Use that to your advantage," he concluded.

NHL trade rumor: New Jersey Devils reportedly consider trading Dougie Hamilton as Elliotte Friedman reveals $63,000,000 defenseman's 10-team NMC list

NHL-Dougie Hamilton of the New Jersey Devils (Credit: Getty Images) The New Jersey Devils are reportedly considering trade options. That too for defenseman Dougie Hamilton as part of a wider effort to reshape their roster. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that Hamilton, signed through the 2027-28 season, has officially submitted a modified 10-team no-move clause list. This adds momentum to growing speculation that New Jersey may look to move the veteran blueliner in the coming months. Toronto Maple Leafs Signing Jack Roslovic? Dougie Hamilton Trade? Leafs Rumours - Elliotte Friedman Dougie Hamilton's $63 million deal poses trade challenges Hamilton's contract makes any potential trade more complicated. He carries an annual cap hit of $9 million, and with several years remaining on the deal. Only a limited number of teams may have both the cap space and the desire to absorb such a commitment; although his offensive skills and veteran presence are still valued. If a trade is to materialize, the Devils may need to retain salary or include additional assets to make the move viable for a contending team. Hamilton's 10-team NMC complicates Devils' trade outlook One of the main obstacles in trading Dougie Hamilton is his 10-team no-move clause. According to Friedman's report, the veteran defenseman has already submitted his list of blocked destinations, which restricts the Devils' ability to freely negotiate with all interested teams. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Gold Is Surging in 2025 — Smart Traders Are Already In IC Markets Learn More Undo With only 22 teams theoretically available, options become more limited when factoring in cap space and team needs. Devils' possible Hamilton trade signals broader team changes This development is one piece of a larger reset underway in New Jersey. After a frustrating season that saw the team miss the playoffs, General Manager Tom Fitzgerald has made it clear the organization is not content with the status quo. With the franchise building around younger stars like Jack Hughes, Luke Hughes, and Nico Hischier. Now moving Hamilton could open up cap space and opportunities for defensive depth, whether a trade comes this summer or closer to the trade deadline. This situation highlights the Devils' readiness to make tough decisions to compete again. 'Race a cheetah': MrBeast dares IShowSpeed to race with nature's fastest runner in an epic race showdown

(Image via @MrBeast & @ishowspeedsui/X) What happens when YouTube's biggest philanthropist meets the internet's fastest meme machine? Chaos, and possibly, a cheetah. MrBeast just threw IShowSpeed a challenge that's as insane as it sounds: a foot race against an actual cheetah. Yes, the fastest land animal on Earth. While Speed is used to racing humans, this latest twist could be his wildest test yet. From Noah Lyles to Wild Lanes IShowSpeed has built a bit of a reputation lately, not just for his chaotic streams, but for calling out elite athletes for races. Last year, MrBeast made one of those challenges a reality by putting Speed up against Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles with $100K on the line. Lyles won easily. Speed, not so happy. The rematch? Denied. But that didn't stop Speed. He kept chasing bigger names, including NFL speedster Tyreek Hill. That race? Still pending. MrBeast Levels It Up… Again Just when the race content was getting quiet, MrBeast reignited the madness. In a tweet that went viral instantly, he wrote: '@IShowSpeedSui if you ever want to race a cheetah let me know.' No punchline. No exaggeration. Just a straight-up invite to a Speed vs. Cheetah showdown. This comes hot off the heels of MrBeast's latest animal vs. human video, where a cheetah raced against a Formula E machine. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like One plan. Total peace of mind. ICICI Pru Life Insurance Plan Get Quote Undo While the big cat smoked two of them, it barely lost to the electric racer. So what's next? MrBeast clearly wants to up the stakes with a wild human-vs-animal crossover. Speed's Silence Speaks Volumes As of now, Speed hasn't responded. He's currently in the middle of his chaotic European livestream tour. But let's be real: this is the guy who barked during a World Cup broadcast, set fireworks off indoors, and screamed "SUII" in multiple languages. Racing a cheetah? Right up his alley. And knowing Speed, he won't back down, even if his opponent hits 0–60 mph in three seconds flat. Could This Actually Happen? Is a Speed vs. Cheetah race logistically possible? With MrBeast's budget and connections, it definitely is. He's already rented out stadiums, islands, and entire cities for his videos. Throw in some trainers, safety protocols, and high-speed cameras, and this challenge could go viral before it even happens. Plus, fans are already flooding X (formerly Twitter) with memes, countdowns, and dream match-ups. Everyone wants to see if Speed can even finish the race before the cheetah's back in its cage. A man named Speed racing a literal cheetah? Only MrBeast could cook up something this wild. And if it actually happens, expect the internet to melt down. Whether Speed wins, loses, or trips halfway, one thing's guaranteed: it'll be pure content. Game On Season 1 continues with Mirabai Chanu's inspiring story. Watch Episode 2 here.
