29 Cheaper Alternatives To Name Brand Beauty Products

Catrice "Instant Awake" Under Eye Brightener perfect for anyone who wants to trick everyone around them into thinking they got a full nine hours of sleep when in reality, they got maybe six. 😖 This stuff is basically the makeup of the future because it's designed with a color-adapting formula to help your bags ~disappear~, giving you instant coverage with a lightweight feel. And let's not forget it's much cheaper than the $33 Becca version.
Stila eyeliner to create a precise look that will 👏🏼 not 👏🏼 smudge. 👏🏼 You won't even miss the slightly more dynamic double-tipped Tom Ford because you can create allll the same looks and feel good knowing you're saving money. 💰
L'Oréal Paris Collagen Daily Face Moisturizer reviewers equate to the $80 ~designer~ Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream but wayyyy cheaper and still just as hydrating, plumping, and smoothing. You're gonna love how it makes your skin feel without leaving your pores clogged or your face feeling greasy.
Peach and Lilly acne spot dots that work just as well as the fan favorite Mighty Patches. Just stick one of these bad boys on your pimple overnight and be amazed (/disgusted) by the results when you wake up.
The Face Shop's Rice Water Bright Foaming Facial Cleanser, which could basically be the only step in your skincare routine if you really wanted it to be. It'll help brighten, cleanse, moisturize, and remove your makeup all at once, which is pretty impressive itself, and on top of that, reviewers rave about it being a cheaper alternative to Tatcha Rice Wash, so I'd call that a win–win.
Good Molecules Pineapple Exfoliating Powder that magically turns into a foaming face wash when combined with water (just like the $68 Dermalogica version). It's made with fruit enzymes, vitamin C, and rice powder to gently exfoliate, soften, and brighten your skin.
A L'Oréal illuminating moisturizer to instantly give you a ✨glow✨ while also hydrating your skin. The subtle tint will provide you a nice, light coverage on those days when you absolutely *cannot* with a full face of makeup.
A jar of E.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer so you can feel confident that the makeup you just spent a lot of time on will actually stay in place all day. Plus this primer is designed to help reduce the appearance of your pores, so your skin will look extra ~smooth~ and hydrated.
Maybelline's Total Temptation Eyebrow Definer Pencil to transform your sparse brows into the full ones of your dreams. You can make 'em bushier than a bunny's tail if that's the vibe you're going for.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion that will help dry up blemishes while you sleep just as well as Kate Somerville's EradiKate Acne Treatment. Yeah, go ahead and get one of those ~fancy~ drinks you like with that money you've saved.
LilyAna eye cream to help lighten those dark circles and decrease puffiness under your eyes. It's packed with vitamin C and a bunch of other natural ingredients that can help improve the appearance of fine lines or dullness in your skin, just like the pricier Lancôme cream does.
A pack of PleasingCare bamboo oil-blotting sheets for the times you catch yourself looking greasy as HECK. These can quickly and easily remove excess oils just as well as Tatcha's popular blotting sheets, without messing up your makeup.
Nivea Creme (the German version!), which will help save you from the patchy, flaky, and dry skin we all experience at some point during the year. Plus, take reviewers' advice and save yourself over $150 by choosing this over La Mer's pricey Crème de la Mer. "We are never, ever, ever getting back together" — you to La Mer after you try the Nivea creme.
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser for removing excess oil, dirt, and makeup without leaving your skin feeling dry or uncomfortably tight (which is honestly one of my main pet peeves from face washes). Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser is quivering, knowing you won't be buying it again.
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil that nourishes and hydrates your skin with natural ingredients to give you that same ✨glow✨ you get with Tarte Maracuja Oil, just for a ~fraction~ of the price.
A rainbow-inspired eyeshadow palette with 40 shades (matte, shimmer, and metallic!) so you can get as creative as you could ever imagine. And somehow even with this wide variety *and* brilliant colors, it still won't cost more than $10!!
Care:Nel lip mask that reviewers say is *spot on* to the other version (*cough cough* Laneige) that's viral on TikTok. This will hydrate your lips overnight while creating a protective barrier to help prevent future damage.
Eve Hansen Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum designed to help (stay with me here…) smooth wrinkles, brighten dark spots, firm skin, add moisture, reduce under-eye puffiness, and give you a beautiful glow. Not to mention it is more than 10 times (!!) less expensive than the highly sought-after TNS Essential Serum, but just as effective!
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream with a thick, velvety texture to absorb quickly and provide you with 24 hours of hydration. You won't hesitate to buy this over the Sunday Riley Ice Ceramide Moisturizing Cream, which is almost four times the price (and significantly less product).
And CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream to help renew and hydrate your skin overnight with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, so you can have sweet dreams thinking of everything you can buy with the money you saved from not getting Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Firming Moisturizer.
Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water that'll remove makeup just like Bioderma. It'll also clear skin of dirt and oil, all without stripping your face of moisture.
The highly effective Bio-Oil designed to help minimize the appearance of scars just as well as Mederma scar gel, a drugstore staple. Anndd as an added bonus, Bio-Oil is also made to help nourish your skin without clogging your pores. ALL that and still less than half the price — it just one-upped you, Mederma.
Juno & Co.'s Clean 10 Cleansing Balm that'll make removing your makeup easy as can be. (Yup, even waterproof mascara doesn't stand a chance!) It features Japanese pearl barley, which melts into your skin to hydrate while cleansing away impurities. Reviewers even compare it to ~expensive~ products like Farmacy Green Clean and Elemis!
Or a container of Albolene moisturizing cleanser reviewers are loving as an equally effective — and much more affordable — makeup remover compared to Clinique Take The Day Off balm. Massage this balm on your face and watch your makeup melt away.
Or a makeup cleansing cloth that works just like the MakeUp Eraser to remove A L L your makeup by just adding water…yes, even waterproof makeup. Buhbyeee wasteful makeup removing wipes! How does it make sense? IDK maybe it's magic, but whatever it is, it *works.*
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer if you've been looking for something to cover up big pimples, redness, or dark circles without weighing you down or lightening up your wallet too much.
Essence Lash Princess mascara that will give you the look of wearing falsies, without the hassle of making sure you actually know how to put them on. Not to mention, the end result will be basically the same as you would get with higher-end mascaras, only significantly cheaper.
Elizabeth Mott's Thank Me Later Eye Primer, which will help make sure that smoky eye (that you spent way longer on than you'd like to admit) actually lasts through the night instead of melting off your face as soon as you walk out the door.
A six-piece set of high-performance matte lipsticks so you can have ~options~ and still pay less than what you'd pay for *one* color of another brand. Don't worry, just because they're inexpensive doesn't mean they are cheap — reviewers are saying they perform just as well as those more expensive brands.

A pair of "Dreamlux" leggings reviewers can't help but compare to Lululemon's Align joggers thanks to that buttery soft material — but, like, a lotttt cheaper. They're legit perfect for running errands, lounging around, or even hitting that squat goal at the gym — because yeah, they're just that comfy. A fabric defuzzer you can simply glide over areas with pilling, aka those unwanted fuzzies that pile up on your furniture and clothes. These come with a carrying case that, get this, display the charge on the front, so you no longer have that moment where you go out only to realize that your earbuds have run out of juice. 🪫 And a pair of wireless over-the-ear headphones because you've always wanted a pair with premium cushion padding, a built-in mic for taking calls, 10 hours of playtime per charge, and surprisingly decent noise blocking for only $20. These babies may look like the iconic AirPods Max, but they don't have that $$$$ price tag attached. A set of affordable lavender shower steamers so you can get a spa treatment from the comfort of your own sauna and de-stress in ~style~. A set of adorable pastel "unbreakable" deep plates because prettiness should never be sacrificed in the name of practicality. They're chic, they're lightweight, but still dishwasher- and microwave-safe — time to order a pack of these ASAP. A bottle of sulfate-free biotin shampoo — a magic potion that'll help reduce breakage and give your scalp a fuller look. Not only does it nourish your hair, but it smells like rosemary and coconut! You may not be contemplating booking an expensive trip to Turkey for a hair transplant after you start using this shampoo. E.l.f's brand new Lash XTNDR Tubing Mascara for those of you who would love a way to get the falsies look for $7! This mascara is incredibly affordable, incredibly volumizing, and lasts the entire day — plus, it comes off so easily, no smudging or makeup remover required! A classic herringbone necklace so those strangers you pass by at Starbucks think you ~actually~ spent $13,000+ on a gold necklace. This is so close to the Tiffany HardWear version, literally no one will believe you were able to snag it for only $20. A pomade hair wax stick that Will. Not. Budge. Just swipe it over any targeted areas you want to smooth, and this will sleek back those baby hairs without any crunch or flakes ruining your updo. KISS PowerFlex Maximum Speed Nail Glue because you're so tired of your fave press-ons snapping off after just the smallest action. Reviewers basically swear by this glue, as they say it lasts over a week and is super easy to remove, so you can still reuse those nails again and again. AND it's cheap!?! *Adds to cart* A set of eye-popping fine-point pens so your school notes and journal entries look super colorful and organized in literally the prettiest way possible. And don't worry, it doesn't bleed through paper, so it won't accidentally cover up that biology definition that is definitely on your next exam. A ~weightless~ liquid cream blush that'll give you a gorgeous, soft, dewy finish. It's easy to blend on your cheeks, and you'll fall in love with how pigmented, long-lasting, and buildable it is! AND apparently (you didn't hear this from me), it's giving Rare Beauty a run for their money *sips tea*. A set of wildly popular moisture-wicking double-brushed microfiber sheets so you can feel like you're snuggling under a pile of soft, luxurious marshmallows. Plus, these have a cooling effect so that those of you who experience night sweats or hot flashes (and seriously, where were these when I was pregnant?!) are able to slumber on in peace. Essence's "What the Fake!" Plumping Lip Filler that'll puff up your pout and give you some seriously luscious lips. These babies use vitamin E and hyaluronic acid to add some extra fullness to your lips, while also moisturizing them so they are smooth and supple. Angelina Jolie, who? A seamless, compressive ribbed bodycon jumpsuit oh-so-freakin' similar to the Skims jumpsuit that has dominated your FYP lately, but for like a fraction of the price. It's the perf 'fit for a low-impact workout, a casual outing, or simply modeling for your Insta story. No one has to know that you got it from Amazon. An adorable, roomy duffel bag incredibly similar to the Herschel's duffel (but, ya know, waterproof), that will be the perfect accessory for your weekend trip — with the added bonus of being cute enough to not clash with your perfectly curated 'fit. A bottle of Elizavecca Hair Treatment for anyone who wants a frizz-free, silky look without paying exorbitant salon prices. Just apply it to wet hair, leave in for five minutes, and say goodbye to the damaged look your hair has been sporting after years of abuse at the hands of bleach and flat irons. Many reviewers even say this is comparable (or even better) than the pricey Olaplex No.3. A set of quick-drying Swedish reusable dish towels so A) you're not wasting a whole roll of paper towels every time you need to clean up a kitchen mess, and B) to save up money while also making it super easy to wipe up that spaghetti splatter. A hands-free (rotating!) phone mount perfect for propping up your device during any long plane rides. The strong clamp can attach itself to just about anything — your seat tray, suitcase handle, etc.. Reviewers have used it on everything from their car dashboards to carry-on handles to office desks to bedside tables. A set of delightfully versatile colorful mixing bowls that come in oh-so-cute colors and have a spout for easy pouring. Plus, they nest for easy storage, so you can save some serious cabinet real estate. Get ready to get your perspective changed — this book will help you view your life through a completely different lens. A chic, versatile minimalist-style end table perfect if you're in need of a little more surface space for eating, stashing away some random knickknacks, or serving tea to those unexpected guests. Plus, it looks so cute in your living space! A Dash mini maker — the days of cooking huge portions and using up a mountain of dishes are long behind you; now, you can simply pour the ingredients into the griddle and watch it create just the right amount of food you need. Plus, a set of cult-favorite, absurdly affordable moisture-wicking exercise socks because you want to prevent blisters without resorting to buying name-brand socks for like triple the price. A chain purse if you've always salivated over the thought of owning Gucci's Dionysus bag, but your bank account says ✨no.✨ This has the same chain style and front clasp, so literally no one will be able to tell the difference — don't worry, I won't spill your lil' secret.

31 Genius Beauty Products You Should Definitely Own

A reparative K-beauty snail mucin essence — you probably didn't think that anyone could convince you to put something on your face that has to do with snails, but boy, does this work hard to help repair dark spots, hydrate dull skin, and rejuvenate damaged skin. Many reviewers said they were skeptical at first, but once they used it, they loved the glow it gave them. A collagen-coating hair treatment with collagen and ceramide 3 to treat hair that's been through intense heat or sun damage. Use this in between your shampoo and conditioner and leave it in for five minutes — soon enough, you'll have silky soft hair! A pack of Schick dermaplaning razors if you want to get rid of all the peach fuzz and extra hair on your face. Not only does this remove the hair, it gently exfoliates your skin, can help your skin absorb skincare products, AND makes your makeup application waaayyy smoother. Plus, it includes a special cap that ensures you don't go overboard near the eyebrows. The TikTok-famous E.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer to be the perfect base layer for your makeup, ensuring it stays put all day and night. It'll blur your pores and fine lines, making it look like you've got the beauty filter on 24/7. And it's even infused with squalene, so it'll leave your skin feeling super hydrated. A Glossier cream blush — it's fragrance-free, easily spreadable with your fingers, and super buildable. Whether you're going for a more natural glow or a bright pop of color, this will surely become a staple in your makeup bag. A mascara remover since you're tired of looking like a raccoon when it comes time to take your eye makeup off. Just swipe this on like regular mascara and BAM, no more mascara (even the stubborn waterproof formulas can't beat this genius remover). A volcanic stone face roller because your oily skin always seems to find a way to disturb that matte makeup look you're going for. Just swipe this on and watch how it magically removes all the excess oil. And unlike blotting papers, you can wash and reuse the roller, and it fits perfectly in your purse! A pack of Mighty Patches, pretty much deemed the OG and the gold standard of pimple patches on the market (literally, they're locked up when you go to Target... they're that good). These hydrocolloid patches help suck out any gunk from pesky pimples and help prevent you from picking at them. A box of Skin1004 "zombie" face masks if you're looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and tighten your skin. This has albumin and aloe vera extract to improve skin elasticity and provide soothing moisture. Yeah, you might look like Frankenstein for 15 minutes, but the results will be well worth it. A bottle of Bio Oil, a must-have for anyone dealing with hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, or even post-surgery scars. This can help repair the skin and boost collagen production. If you don't take it from me, just take a look at the 39,000+ 5-star reviews! A CeraVe salicylic acid body wash that gently exfoliates your rough and bumpy skin without causing damage, unlike many harsher exfoliants. It'll help you achieve smooth skin and leave you feeling oh-so-hydrated thanks to the hyaluronic acid and ceramides. A Revlon hot air brush because the Dyson Airwrap costs an arm and a leg and this round brush gives you the same, if not better, bouncy blowout results. This dries *and* styles at the same time, saving you some extra time in the morning! An anti-chafing balm that's basically like an "I got you" for your inner thighs, shoulders, feet, and anywhere that tends to chafe or get easily irritated. This non-greasy formula is easy to swipe on and will come in handy when you're out running, hiking, or just dealing with the perpetual state of being sweaty. A foot peel mask, which will probably make you feel like a snake shedding its skin, but oh boy, will this do the trick to getting all that dead skin off your feet. Leave this on for an hour, and in the following days, you'll see dead skin fall right off. A bottle of CND SolarOil because cuticle care definitely falls under the umbrella of overall self-care. This helps your nail beds and the skin around them look so much better, thanks to the blend of vitamin E, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oil. A pack of UV stickers — once you apply your sunscreen, they turn white, and then they turn back to purple to let you know that it's time to reapply. They're super thin and can withstand sweat, water, and dirt, basically making them a summer staple for anyone planning to be outdoors. A teeth-whitening pen so your pearly whites can be... pearly and white. This easy-to-use pen brushes on the whitening gel so you don't have to deal with annoying whitening strips. With consistent daily use, you won't be able to help but smile at the results. A Maybelline concealer for anyone who's tired of looking... tired and dealing with dark circles. This buildable formula is easy to swipe on thanks to its cushion applicator, and it's infused with haloxyl which helps tighten the skin! A bottle of professional-grade callus-removing gel that'll help remove all the dead skin on your heels and leave you with skin that feels as smooth as a baby's bottom! A long-wear lip tint that reviewers compare to the likes of Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution and YSL's Velvet Cream. It'll give you a beautiful pop of color and have your lips feeling hydrated thanks to the blend of vitamin E oil and green tea oil. An eyeliner stamp where all you need to do is stamp the wing on the outer corner of your eye and flip it over to the fine tip to finish off the job! Now you can quickly get ready for the day and not redo your eye makeup like a bajillion times. A satin-lined Hairbrella perfect for protecting your hair in the case that the weather has a mind of its own and doesn't take into account that you JUST did your hair. This keeps your hair dry during rainy, snowy, or humid days and the satin ensures that you aren't left with any frizz once you take this off! A beloved tightening cream with caffeine, coconut oil, and guarana extract, which all make a lovely combo to help smooth, firm, and add a glow to your skin. You know it's actually worth buying because even the 10-year-olds in Sephora go wild for this (and its matching body mist that comes in the same beloved salted caramel and vanilla scent). A powerful 30% glycolic acid peel that helps remove dead skin cells and promotes cell turnover for a more plump, firm, and evened-out skin texture. It contains retinol, which is basically like the skincare community's holy grail ingredient for reducing the appearance of fine lines, but make sure to start out slow with this peel since it can make your skin more sensitive. K18 — it does a stellar job at restoring moisture and softness to hair that has been through a lot, whether it's from bleaching or just frequent hot tool use. This reviewer says the leave-in reparative treatment is like "magic in a bottle!" A Color Wow anti-humidity spray to give you that salon "wow" feeling at home, and for way cheaper. This fights off frizz and leaves you with silky-looking hair. And FYI, this spray is heat-activated, so it's ideal to use it on damp hair and blow-dry for best results. A pair of exfoliating mitts you'll be able to see immediate results with, because dead skin will just clump up and roll right off your arms and legs. Reviewers have said that this helps with keratosis pilaris (those annoying red little bumps) and is a "miracle" for achieving smooth skin. A scalp massager you can use in the shower to help exfoliate your head and make sure all that shampoo really gets into those roots. This little tool easily fits into the palm of your hand and some reviewers said they have even seen hair growth after using this over time. A crème-to-powder waterproof eyeshadow stick if your second priority after serving a killer face card is an efficient makeup routine. This easy-to-use stick doesn't require a brush for application and will give you a pop of glow no matter what shimmery, matte, or metallic shade you choose. A breathable Glossier skin tint with a lightweight formula to give you jussstttt enough coverage, without feeling cakey. It gives off a dewy finish and is infused with glycerin to help your skin feel super hydrated. A splurge-worthy and dermatologist-recommended Elta MD tinted sunscreen — tried and true by so many that you'll want to incorporate it into your daily routine, even when the sun isn't out. This SPF 41 sunscreen has matte finish and has an oil-free formula that helps protect against breakouts (making it perfect for acne-prone skin). You, trying to subtly show off your perfect winged eyeliner, which you did with no touch-ups required: The reviews for this post have been edited for length and clarity.

Trump's New Fragrance Doesn't Smell Like Success

Early reviews are in for the US president's 'rallying cry in a bottle'—and they're not good. It also costs $249. Photograph: REMKOPeople voted for President Donald Trump, they wore his shoes, his hats, and his watches, and soon they'll be able to make calls on his phone. Yet, there is seemingly always another addition to the ways in which one can experience all that is Trump: which brings us to the latest entry to the commander-in-chief's ever-expanding fragrance collection. Victory 47 for Men promises 'rich, masculine notes with a refined finish,' without actually listing any of the ingredients or its scent profile. Helpfully, early reviews from users at fragrance forum Parfumo describe it as 'oriental-fruity', but score it at just 1.9 out of 10. Price-wise, at $249 for 3.3FL OZ, it's comparable with mainstays of blockbuster luxe lines, such as Tom Ford Noir Extreme ($240 / 3FL OZ)—but the cachet between the two is likely as far apart as Tom and Donald's politics. Fragrances might seem like an odd choice for a personal brand that prides itself on plain-talking and masculine tropes, but according to NPD Group data, celebrity fragrances in the US amounted to $148.5 million between August 2022 and 2023—a 30 percent jump on the same period the year before. And while it's not exactly memecoin money, who wouldn't want a piece of that pie when you can leave the grunt work to a third party? That upper-but-not-quite niche $249 pricing also puts Trump fragrances ahead of the more sophisticated celebrity scent sphere. At one end, names such as Jennifer Lopez and Antonio Banderas have long cluttered pharmacy shelves across the world with their lower-market-end-conquoring offers (think $25 a pop). Stars such as Ariana Grande are next on the ladder, capturing a huge market with candy-sweet bottles that go for $45-$68. Then we have our Rhiannas and Billie Eilishes in the $140 ballpark—affordable luxury. It's not The Donald's first foray into the world of celebrity stink, of course—back in the misty, pre-presidential days of 2004 we had Donald Trump The Fragrance (courtesy of mid-range powerhouse Estée Lauder), then Success by Trump in 2012, followed by Empire by Trump in 2015 (both by the parent company of Parlux, which produces Billie Eilish's fragrance line). Of course, this isn't the first time we've wondered what power actually smells like: JFK famously wore both Eight and Bob and Jockey Club during his time in office, but he wasn't licensing his name and 'likeness' to a third party churning out products that he'd likely never purchase himself. Still, the Trump brand-diffusion plan has caught the eye of fellow authoritarians. Former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro has his own line of fragrances courtesy of Brazilian beauty brand Agustin Fernandez—though retailing in the distinctly less-premium neighborhood of R$300 (US$50). Like Melania, Michelle Bolsonaro, former First Lady of Brazil, also got in on the action with the launch of their line in 2024. Perhaps Donald will swap complimentary bottles with Jair, or maybe there's a rare flacon of the Putin-inspired Leaders Number One winging its way over from Russia? The mind—and nostrils—boggle. As with so much of the product offered on the 'GetTrump' family of websites, the imagery is a masterclass of 'actual product may vary' visualization. More Oscar statuette than bottle (let's not kid ourselves here—the Trump faithful likely aren't really buying this for the fragrance), the golden, youthful T-1000-like figure is perhaps more Eric than Donald? For the ladies' version ('Sophisticated, subtly feminine,' no clue as to what it smells of; 'chypreartig-animal' according to Parfumo), the only concession to femininity is a rose-gold hue to the lower half—you'll still get the stock, gleaming Donalderic homunculus glaring purposefully at you from the dressing table. Interestingly, the only positive noises about Victory 47 thus far have come from the Fragrantica site (the early visualizations of the bottles are a treat , BTW)—itself somewhat controversial. The site's original review for the 'Fight Fight Fight' cologne was criticized across Reddit for failing to mention any injuries or the actual fatality from the shooting in Pennsylvania, and instead cited Trump's inspiring moment of 'personal courage'. For those keeping track, in addition to 9 currently available watches (and 11 in pre-order) the current tally of under-licence merch from the GetTrump empire now includes Trump Slides, "Fight Fight Fight' High Tops (Silver) and Trump Landslide Boots. Sadly, that $5 million Gold Trump Card doesn't actually come with any credit, so Trump superfans will have to max out their regular gold cards if they're going to complete the collection.
