Should You Play New Game Plus In ‘Clair Obscur: Expedition 33'? Here's What You'll Find

Given that it's entirely possible that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 may have just become one of my favorite games of all time, it took about all of two days before I couldn't resist heading back into it for a New Game+ run. I just finished it up and if you're wondering if it's worth it, I can tell you how it goes. Spoilers follow.
The Important Things Carry Over – This means all your weapons, all your Pictos and Lumina Points, your level, your moves, your outfits and you even start with your full team (which makes some of the story points very funny). But make sure to activate them to play in that screen.
It's Faster – This is sort of a given as you know how to navigate the major levels and you know which side missions exist, so the only way things may be slower is if this time you want to 100% explore each zone if you didn't last time. One bummer here is that you do not save the ability to smash through those blue spire rocks, so you will have to find four lost Gestrals again.

You Will Find New Things – I can almost guarantee this. I really, really hunted for extra zones in the endgame of my first playthrough, and in NG+ I found at least two more major ones. No, they were not added specifically in NG+, but giving the map another pass I am almost sure you missed things unless you were using some elaborate guide in your first run.
XP/Chroma – These are increased in NG+. XP is increased dramatically with fights giving you millions pretty early on. Getting past these fights is going to rocket you to 99 pretty quickly, albeit getting Lumina Points is a different story. Chroma is increased as well, but not as crazily.
Difficulty – This may be what you want to know, and the answer is: it depends. How strong are you going into NG+? If you simply beat the story at 50-60 and head straight in, you're going to have a tough time. That may be what you want! I was the opposite, where I went in at 99 with a ton of Lumina Points and 98% of the fights were cake, even not using Maelle nukes. It was actually fun relying on other teammates this time. I used Monoco a lot when I barely touched him before (yes, you keep all his feet).

Sandfall
Simon – I will make this a separate category given that he is the hardest fight in the game. Even with all my power, he was tough. I do not have a crazy Maelle death bomb nuke build which will still one-shot him. But trying to do it a more normal way, a lesser Maelle Stendhal opener only took him to half, and my teammates were only chipping him with millions of damage per hit. It took a lot of deaths and revives and ultimately, making Verso immortal on my reserve team with a Gradient to beat him.
Loot – This is one that sort of disappointed me. With my best builds and best Pictos already set up, I was hoping I could push beyond them. But you will eventually just find 33 weapons and 33 Pictos which…will not fundamentally change your existing strong build if you want to keep that the same as 'best in class.' It frees you up for more experimenting but I hoped it would be more interesting. And I think there are only a few NG+ cosmetics like ending-dependent Gustave gear.
Story – There are no new story turns, but there are so, so many instances of foreshadowing that it's amazing to watch it unfold now that you know where this is all going. Cannot say how many times I said 'aha!' when something was hinted at that I totally missed before. Enjoy.

Cat Follows Kids to School—What the Principal Does Next Is Perfect

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. When the family cat set off on his usual stroll to school with the kids, his owner wasn't expecting him to get a personal escort home—courtesy of the school principal. Nova Scotia resident Natasha, who didn't give a surname, and her family adopted 4-year-old Simon during the height of the pandemic. Since then, the cat has become something of a neighborhood character, especially among students and staff at daughter Nancy's elementary school. Most mornings, Simon tags along for the five- to seven-minute walk to the school, sauntering alongside the kids like he is clocking in for a shift. "He's always been a bit of a supervisor," Natasha told Newsweek. "But this was next-level." Pictures of Simon the cat being escorted back home by the school's principal. Simon was making circles around her portable class." Concerned for Simon's safety, the principal decided a more-official intervention was warranted. Just a few hours later, Natasha was greeted at home by the school's principal … with Simon in tow. The unexpected moment was caught on camera, and has since been shared on Instagram. "It was sweet and unexpected," Natasha said. "I was laughing—it felt like he was being sent home by the authorities!" The video has been viewed over 687,000 times by Instagram users and sparked a series of reactions from viewers. "Simon is a hero in my eyes," said viewer @zoef21, while Instagram user @melsnod wrote: "That's the best day of the principal's career." "Well this is adorable," posted @miz_missy27, while @suz88_8 added: "He'll do it again tomorrow." Natasha was delighted by the reaction online. "I often share Simon's antics online, and this one just felt like a wholesome moment worth showing," she said. This isn't the first time a pet has made an unexpected journey. Earlier this year, a woman arrived at the vet with her feline when she opened the carrier and realized her other cat had come along for the ride. Another cat owner stopped for gas when she realized that she had a fluffy stowaway in the back after leaving her car windows down. In 2024, a woman got into her car, only to get a huge surprise when she looked back and saw that someone else's dog had jumped into the back. Paul Simon cancels concerts to undergo emergency surgery ahead of S.F. shows

Paul Simon canceled two concerts over the weekend due to health complications, and is scheduled to undergo surgery ahead of his San Francisco shows. 'Paul has been struggling with chronic and intense back pain,' a statement shared to his Instagram account on Saturday, June 28 reads. 'Today it became unmanageable and demands immediate attention.' Due to the pain, the 83-year-old scrapped appearances at Philadelphia's Academy of Music on Saturday and Sunday, June 28-29. He had already completed one of the three scheduled shows at the venue on Thursday, June 27. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee will now undergo a 'minor surgical procedure' in the coming days before proceeding with his A Quiet Celebration Tour, according to the statement. Simon's next show is set for Long Beach on July 7. He is also scheduled for a three-night stint at San Francisco's Davies Symphony Hall on July 19 and 21-22. Though he is unable to reschedule his missed Philadelphia dates immediately, he says he will look into making up the concerts in the future, according to the statement. Full refunds are being offered to ticket holders. The singer rose to fame in the 1960s as co-founder of the folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, with hits such as 'Mrs. Robinson' and 'The Sounds of Silence,' before launching his solo career in the '70s. Simon's recent tour came as a surprise to many, after the musician indicated in 2018 that he was retiring from touring due to hearing loss. A year later, however, he performed a headlining set at San Francisco's Outside Lands festival. To assist with live performances, Simon has worked with his production team and Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss to adapt his stage setup with moving monitors to ensure optimal acoustics. 'I don't think creativity stops with disability,' Simon said in a November interview on 'CBS Mornings.' 'So far, I haven't experienced that. And I hope not to.' Simon's A Quiet Celebration tour launched in New Orleans in early April and is scheduled to wrap up in August in Seattle.

Simon Porte Jacquemus Turns Personal History Into Runway Poetry With SS26 'Le Paysan'

Summary Set against the stately backdrop of L'Orangerie at the Château de Versailles,Jacquemus'Spring/Summer 2026collection, 'Le Paysan' (The Peasant), unfolds as an emotive tribute to founderSimon Porte Jacquemus' rural heritage. Inspired by his childhood in the South of France, the collection seamlessly blends memory and imagination, transposing the quiet poetry of simple living into sculptural silhouettes and textured tailoring. It channels intimate inspirations from Simon's personal history: family albums filled with photos of harvests, his grandmother's elegant way of dressing up, and the comforting feel of ironed cotton on a Sunday. 'I want to create an autobiographical journey for June: one that begins in the countryside, soft and minimal, with linen as the foundation. From there, it gradually transforms, blossoming into an explosion of bonbon hues, stripes, embroidery, and prints. Various colors emerge, all connected, culminating in a look that is totally couture,' Simon wrote on hisInstagram. The womenswear offering embraces voluminous jupons, tulle aprons turned inside-out and structured jackets shaped by internal half-corsets. Poplin is cut into geometric motifs reminiscent of vintage linens, delicately embroidered, dotted and shines in standout pieces like the rare tulle bobbin dress, composed of 700 meters of cord and a sheer mousseline sheath adorned with silk taffeta diamonds. These tactile surfaces are punctuated by sculptural tassels and handcrafted embellishments that echo provincial elegance. Leather tassels and sculptural details further accentuate the collection's folkloric elegance. Meanwhile, menswear reads like a Marcel Pagnol character come to life: rustic yet elevated. Cropped jackets and wide-legged trousers are rendered in breezy linens and whisper-fine leathers, each detailed with topstitched stripes or subtle herringbone weaves. The palette is carefully curated with milky white, cream and black, alongside fresh shades of blue, pink and yellow reminiscent of sugared almonds and classic Berlingot stripes. Accessories deepen the rural reverie with berets, Arlésian shawls and espadrilles tied with grosgrain ribbons, while whimsical references to market stalls – leather leeks, garlic garlands and fruit-shaped jewelry – add a wink of surrealism. Jacquemus' famed woven bags also. return in Provençal textures, joined by a new ladylike handbag, 'Le Valerie,' named after the designer's mother. Beyond its visual storytelling, 'Le Paysan' represents a personal homecoming for Jacquemus. By revisiting silhouettes and themes from his earlier collections with renewed craftsmanship, the designer circles back to the roots that shaped him, offering a collection that is as emotionally rich as it is technically refined.
