Medals conferred on 500 in-service, retired Royal Brunei Armed Forces personnel for loyal, exemplary service
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 500 Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel, comprising both in-service and retired personnel, were conferred with the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (Military).
Commander of the RBAF Major General Datuk Paduka Seri Muhammad Haszaimi Bol Hassan presented the medals at a ceremony at the Nikmat Hall, Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) on Friday (May 23).

The recipients comprised 156 personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Forces, 91 from the Royal Brunei Navy, 102 from the Royal Brunei Air Force, and 151 personnel from other units within the RBAF.
The medal conferment serves as a recognition of loyal service, commendable conduct, and unwavering commitment demonstrated by the recipients throughout their years of service.

Recycling day held in Brunei
Xinhua 23 Jun 2025, 21:46 GMT+10 BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Over 3,000 kilograms of paper waste, cupboards and plastic bottles were collected at Brunei's Recycling Day held nationwide on Sunday, local media has reported. According to the Borneo Bulletin on Monday, the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, as the organizer, also collected 392.3 litres of used cooking oil, 62 lithium batteries, 578 units of electronic waste and 929 used items for recycling. This initiative is one of the Brunei government's efforts to increase public awareness and participation in practicing recycling habits, and introducing recycling services available in the country.

Bruneian youth to participate in marine conservation in efforts to protect their marine life
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Bruneian youth will take part in marine conservation activities held in conjunction with Ocean Week Brunei 2025, local media has reported. The first activity, Reef Ball Fabricator, will take place on June 12 at the Serasa Jetty, near Muara port town, according to local daily Borneo Bulletin. Youth participants will learn to fabricate reef balls, artificial reef structures made from a special concrete mix that supports coral growth. This will be followed by Reef Ball Discovery on June 22, also based in Serasa. Youth will assist in preparing coral fragments, known as "corals of opportunity," to be planted on reef balls deployed at snorkeling site in Pelong Rocks. - Xinhua
