
Bahrain hosts CEM2025 conference
Dr. Bin Dainah emphasised that Bahrain's hosting of the event reflects its commitment to enhancing international cooperation on environmental matters. He highlighted the conference as a key platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration on emissions monitoring and air quality, supporting sustainable and balanced environmental practices.
The conference includes over 40 technical presentations delivered by experts from around the world across seven main sessions covering emissions measurement, analytical technologies, and environmental compliance. The conference also includes panel discussions and hands-on workshops.
On the sidelines of the conference, the minister visited the accompanying technical exhibition, featuring 55 leading international companies showcasing emissions monitoring equipment, smart monitoring solutions, and emissions reduction technologies. The exhibition offers participants the opportunity to explore the latest innovations and engage directly with global manufacturers and suppliers.

Bahrain, US and UK sign Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA)
As part of the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the United States of America, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the US signed the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA). The agreement was signed on behalf of Bahrain by Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States; on behalf of the United States of America by Maura Namdar, Senior Official at the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the US Department of State; and on behalf of the United Kingdom by Lucy Ferguson, Minister Counsellor for Foreign Policy, Security and Development at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid said that the C-SIPA agreement sets the groundwork for building stronger security cooperation and supporting prosperity in the Middle East. He emphasised that the agreement embodies the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency President Donald Trump of the United States of America, towards achieving peace, stability, and prosperity for the countries and peoples of the region and the world. The agreement further expresses the current regional reality, which aspires to peace, prosperity, development, and cooperation by establishing normal relations between all the countries of the region. The ambassador commended the efforts of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to strengthen cooperation between Bahrain and the United States. He highlighted His Royal Highness's ongoing commitment to building a solid and strategic partnership that serves the shared interests of both nations. The ambassador emphasised that these efforts not only support progress and prosperity in Bahrain and the United States, but also contribute positively to the well-being of people across the region and the wider international community. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid also commended the trilateral signing by Bahrain, the US, and the UK, on the accession of the UK to the C-SIPA agreement. He noted that the UK's accession represents a strategic milestone in consolidating regional security, stability, and prosperity and in enhancing international partnerships founded on common principles and values. The ambassador welcomed the UK's accession to the agreement, describing it as a multilateral framework that unites countries to strengthen regional security, enhance collective deterrence against external threats, and deepen cooperation in trade, science, and technology to enhance peace and prosperity in the Middle East. This shift from a bilateral to a multilateral agreement opens the door for other countries with shared goals to join. He expressed Bahrain's hope that more nations will become members, benefiting all citizens in the region and promoting broader cooperation, growth, and prosperity. BNA(R)

Oil and Environment Minister affirms commitment to empowering national cadres
His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to empowering national competencies and enhancing their contributions across all sectors. This commitment, he emphasised, supports the goals of Bahrain's comprehensive development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to advance the government work system. Dr. Bin Daina made these remarks during a meeting with the tenth batch of the Prime Minister's Program for Government Cadres Development. He noted that the program has become a vital contributor to government performance improvement, thanks to the skills, experience, and continued dedication of its participants. He stressed the importance of empowering young talent and involving them in the decision-making process, which strengthens public policy outcomes and infuses the government sector with innovative ideas. He further highlighted that the 'Round Table' meetings with program participants serve as an essential platform for dialogue between decision-makers and future leaders, fostering a participatory approach in policymaking and governance development. During the meeting, Dr. Bin Daina reviewed key national strategies in the oil and environmental sectors, including ongoing efforts to address climate change and implement environmental initiatives in line with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030. Unified Insurance Protection System for GCC citizens
The Social Insurance Organisation SIO announced that it has begun applying Article 12 of the Unified Insurance Protection System for GCC citizens working outside their home countries. This ensures continued insurance coverage under Law (68) of 2006. Employers must review their insurance status, settle any dues, and pay on time to avoid penalties, especially in Bahrain's private sector.
