Ringo Starr posted a TikTok asking people to mark his birthday with a global show of unity.
Music icon Ringo Starr has asked his fans around the world to celebrate his 85th birthday with "peace and love."
The Beatles band member released a video on TikTok ahead of his big day, asking people to stop what they are doing and say, think or post his message to the world.
In the video, he said: "On Monday it's my birthday, what does that mean? It means at noon wherever you are all over the world anywhere, you go 'peace and love'. This is my gift to you. Peace and love."
Since 2008, Ringo has spread his peace and love message every year on his birthday as a sign of global unity.
'I think it's important every day – and right now the world is going through a madness. Maybe it'll help. I'm an optimist, not a pessimist", Ringo said.
In honour of Ringo's milestone birthday and lifelong advocacy for peace, The Beatles Story museum in Liverpool will unveil a Ringo Starr Peace and Love Sculpture.
It has been created using an original casting of Ringo's right hand.
A four-part series of biopics about The Beatles is being released in cinemas in April 2028, documenting the lives of each of the Fab Four.
Gladiator II star Paul Mescal will play Paul McCartney, Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn will take on George Harrison. Saltburn star Barry Keoghan will portray Ringo Starr, and Babygirl actor Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon.
Formed in 1960, The Beatles are the best-selling music act of all time and one of the world's most influential bands.
They achieved 18 UK number-one singles, 16 UK number-one albums, and a record 20 number-one hits on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Cheyanne Kerr raised her hand to her mouth in surprise as the Love Island theme played, and she wrote: "POV: Your cousin just walked into the villa." One follower commented: "so excited for him. he's the best boy on there." Another agreed, saying: "Best one out them all." When a fan asked Cheyanne who she thought Ty would go for, she replied: "I haven't been watching it so I haven't a clue who people are but from what I've seen I think Shakira maybe???" She told another: "He likes a brunette tbh." Ahead of the series, Ty confirmed his type, saying: "I go off energy, if we vibe. I've typically dated brunettes, tanned, nice teeth with a nice smile." He added: "I've got my eyes on Shakira - she needs a Northern lad in there, our personalities would be the most matched I think. "Emily seems like a really sweet girl, someone you could take home to your parents. Helena is really good looking but she needs taming! I reckon I'm the man for the job." Barnsley bombshell Cheyanne had been single for six months when she entered the villa. Love Island fans left feeling 'sick' after last night's snogging challenge She said at the time: "I am not wanting to upset anyone or hurt anyone's feelings purposely but I am going in there for a reason and they're going in for a reason as well." The blonde stunner hit it off with rugby league lad Jacques O'Neill in Casa Amor but ultimately left the show when he decided to stick with Paige Thorne. 5 Shakira is Ty's type on paper Credit: Eroteme 5 Cheyanne Kerr is new boy Ty's cousin Credit: TikTok

Fact check: Social media channel of migrant's journey posts AI-generated videos

The videos on the channel appear to be AI-generated. On four days between June 9 and June 13, the channel 'migrantvlog' uploaded 22 videos to the social media platform. At the time of writing, the most-watched video had around 374,000 views on the platform. In total, five of the videos had more than 100,000 views. The channel had 1,647 followers and more than 11,000 likes. Comments on the videos show some viewers realised that the videos are AI-generated. However, others seemed to be reacting as if they are real. What evidence is there that the videos are AI? There is clear evidence of AI generation in many of the videos. Most tellingly, several of the videos have watermarks for Veo – an AI video generation tool. One video posted with the caption '5 star meorot we going' includes a section at around seven seconds where a man on the right of the frame seems to momentarily lose his arm. This video is one of several with a Veo watermark. The watermark appears in the bottom-right corner, where it might be obscured from some viewers by TikTok's display icons. Between that video and another posted later the same day, the main protagonist's voice seems to change. The second video includes scrambled text on the front of a building, a hallmark sign of AI. At around five seconds, a man appears to pull a large camera out of his crotch, while at seven seconds a person sat in a chair appears to become translucent. Another video shows a protest with men waving flags. The man behind the right shoulder of the person filming moves his arm in an unnatural way and the flag in his hand seems to appear and disappear. A video shows a man running with a group while holding a burning Union flag. The flag is on fire, however the material does not appear to be blackening, and the way the men behind the protagonist interact seems almost ghost-like as they move through each other in unnatural ways. In a video in which the man says 'thank you British taxpayers for feeding us this good food', a fork can be seen appearing seemingly out of thin air in the background while a man appears to pass a plate through his own hand.
