The field has featured several blue-chip recruits in the 2026, 2027, and even 2028 classes so far. Previous top performing prospects included USC-bound QB Jonas Williams, Texas WR commit Chris Stewart, and five-star CB Havon Finney Jr.
Here are 10 more players Rivals will be watching closely during Week 4 action at OT7:
FOUR-STAR QB LANDON DUCKWORTH, RWE
Landon Duckworth is one of six quarterback ranked inside the top 30 of the Rivals250 in the 2026 cycle. The four-star passer from Alabama possesses as much -- or more -- upside than anyone in this class. Duckworth is an efficient distributor with big-play ability attacking vertically and extending plays outside of the pocket. In this 7-on-7 setting, the elite QB will have an opportunity to showcase his processing and decision-making early and often.
FOUR-STAR ATH JOEY O'BRIEN, LEVEL82
Four-star Joey O'Brien has been tabbed as an ATH in the Rivals250 given the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder's ability to make plays at receiver and at defensive back in various settings. The four-star has found a home playing safety and is a prospect with size, range, length, and playmaking ability at the position. O'Brien's should see plenty of action against a stout group of pass-catchers this weekend.
FOUR-STAR WR VANCE SPAFFORD (GEORGIA COMMIT), CALIFORNIA POWER
Four-star Vance Spafford was absolutely electric in this setting this time last year -- and is very much in the conversation to be the No. 1 SLOT WR in the Rivals250 by the end of this recruiting cycle. The Georgia verbal from the West Coast will get an opportunity to line up against various NICKEL defenders. We're excited to see Spafford at work and how he directs coverages with so much star power around him on the Cali Power offense.
FIVE-STAR QB RYDER LYONS, COLD HEARTS
Ryder Lyons made his 7-on-7 debut Week 1 of the OT7 season. After two days of action, the five-star QB was well-acclimated to the speed of the game and found a rhythm. Lyons has a live arm and a talented cast of receivers around him. He wasn't shy about taking shots downfield -- and we anticipate seeing a different version of the touted passer this weekend.
FOUR-STAR TE MARK BOWMAN, CALIFORNIA POWER
Elite TE Mark Bowman is one of a handful of prospects to reclassify into the 2026 cycle. The top-30 recruit from California moves at a different speed at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds. He also should be a mismatch in the red zone. Bowman should draw the attention of several talented linebackers and safeties along the way.
FOUR-STAR WR JABARI MACK (LSU COMMIT)
Four-star WR Jabari Mack has been enjoying a stellar off-season so far -- shining in various settings, including Week 1 of the OT7 season last month. The speedy pass-catcher from The Boot is up to 200 pounds this spring -- and has continued to deliver big plays downfield and highlight catches each and every event this spring. Mack is one of the several elite WR committed to LSU in this cycle.
FOUR-STAR ATH SALESI MOA, COLD HEARTS
Four-star ATH Salesi Moa was superb in his last outing at OT7 in Week 1. The dynamic two-way player from Utah was one of Lyons' top receiving targets -- making deep catches downfield and also working underneath effectively. Moa was equally as good in coverage playing cornerback. Moa's father played in the NFL and a brother at Michigan State, and he has a skill-set to follow suit.
FOUR-STAR SAF JETT WASHINGTON, LO-PRO
Jett Washington is known for being the late great Kobe Bryant's nephew -- and he also has an established reputation as one of the top defensive backs at OT7 the past two seasons. The top-100 SAF has outstanding range and length patrolling the back end of the secondary and can fly to the football. Washington, unsurprisingly, is also a standout basketball player.
THREE-STAR WR JAMES SCOTT, TUCSON TURF
Touted 2026 WR James Scott out of the Lone Star State was one of top performers in OT7 Week 1. The big-framed pass-catcher was outstanding by the goal -- playing above the rim and consistently winning one-on-one matchups inside and also working on the perimeter. Scott was one of the biggest stock-up recruits at the position so far this spring -- and has programs like Houston, , TCU, Texas A&M, and USC in pursuit.
THREE-STAR SAF KENTAVION ANDERSON, RWE
We're ecstatic about our first live evaluation of touted 2026 SAF Kentavion Anderson. The South Carolina native constantly puts himself by the football. Anderson largely works in in the box and covers a ton of ground -- and his skill-set should translate well in this 7-on-7 setting. Anderson is set to make his college commitment on May 16.

USC has consistently had a top-two class for the past several months. To use a familiar turn of phrase in the football industry, USC has given Lincoln Riley high-quality groceries. Now the coach is in position to cook. "Legendary NFL coach Bill Parcells talked about how an NFL front office asked him to cook the dinner. Parcells wanted a say in how to run a team, which he likened to shopping for the groceries themselves. USC has changed its system to have Lincoln Riley focus more on cooking while other people shop for the groceries. Now that some high-end groceries are arriving, it just wouldn't make sense to not give Riley at least one season with superior talent in 2026." USC is bringing in some of the best players in the country in 2026. Lincoln Riley has shown he can have success with talented rosters, due to some successful seasons with Oklahoma where he fielded teams filled with NFL talent. The more talent Riley has to work with, the more successful he can be. In the Big Ten, the amount of competitive teams is larger than it was in the Pac-12, directly resulting in why USC had a disappointing season last year. Riley has made adjustments to field a better team than last year. With the talent that is coming in the following year, cutting Riley right before USC can reap the benefits would be a huge mistake. Lincoln Riley has brought NFL-caliber coaching to his staff, and he knows how develop college players into high first-round draft picks especially at the quarterback position. This recruiting class will be a key factor in USC ultimately deciding to keep Riley.

USC football countdown to kickoff—Porter Gustin in focus
The countdown to USC's 2025 football season is officially on! The Trojans kick off their new campaign 45 days from today. You need something to help you while away the days and hours in the spring and summer. This is one way to do so. In this new series, countdown to kickoff, we will be counting down the days by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number. Today, we look at former USC linebacker Porter Gustin. Position: Linebacker Years played at USC: 2015-2018 Career highlights: A highly-touted recruit out of high school, Gustin arrived at USC in 2015 and made an immediate impact at linebacker as a true freshman. He would continue to do so for the next four years—although unfortunately, injuries held Gustin back from ever quite living up to his full potential. Despite this, though, he still finished his career in Cardinal and Gold with an impressive 137 total tackles, 21 sacks, and five passes defended. After USC: Gustin signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft. However, he was released by the team prior to the start of the regular season. In November of 2019, Gustin signed with the Cleveland Browns practice squad. Later that month, he was promoted to the team's active roster. Gustin would go on to appear in 26 regular season games and two postseason contests with the team between 2019 and 2021. Perhaps the highlight of his career was an interception of legendary Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger during a Wild Card playoff win following the 2020 season. Gustin's most recent NFL stint came with the Miami Dolphins practice squad in 2022.

247Sports names three Trojans as potential Big Ten breakout stars for 2025 season
The start of the 2026 college football season is just weeks away. One of the most exciting parts of each year is seeing new stars emerge in the sport. In a recent story, Matt Zenitz of 247Sports took a look at some potential Big Ten breakout stars for 2025. Three Trojans made the list: Edge rusher Kameryn Fountain, running back Waymong Jordan, and linebacker Desman Stephens II. Here is what Zenitz had to say about each of them: On Fountain 'Kameryn Fountain began to emerge some for USC toward the end of his freshman season last year and was a starter in each of the Trojans' final four games. Now, USC is expecting a second-year jump from the 6-foot-5, 260-pound Fountain, who was a Class of 2024 top-60 overall recruit. ''He's going to break out this year,' a source said.' On Jordan 'Waymond Jordan, the top-ranked JUCO running back in the 2025 recruiting class, has impressed this offseason to the point that he's on track to be USC's starting running back. The 5-foot-9, 210-pound Jordan ran for 1,614 yards and 20 touchdowns in 12 games at Hutchinson Community College last season. "'Waymond is an all-purpose back who has all the tools to be a dynamic back in the Big Ten Conference,' a source said. 'His natural instincts, contact balance and creative running style will provide (USC) with a unique and consistent running game.'' On Stephens 'Desman Stephens II is set to be a starting inside linebacker for USC after making 13 tackles as a freshman last year. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Stephens had an interception and subsequent 42-yard return during the Trojans' overtime loss to Penn State. ''Big, athletic kid that probably should have played more as a freshman,' a source said. 'Made some plays. Big time (interception) on his first play in the game against Penn State. He has a chance to be really good.'' USC football ceiling The Trojans will need lots of players to play up to or above expectations for this team to have a real chance at making the College Football Playoff. Having these three players live up to their potential would signal a big year for USC. Close margins Virtually every USC game was close in 2025. The Trojans led in nearly every fourth quarter last season. They won a few close ones but lost several. Having players live up to their capacities will push the Trojans over the line and enable them to live on the right side of small margins this season.
