But England, despite a shaky start to the tournament, were confident after seeing off Sweden in the quarters and Italy in the semi-final.
A crowd of 34,203 watched as England enjoyed a bright start, with the first chance after three minutes.

West Ham seal one-year deal for former Newcastle striker Wilson
West Ham have signed Callum Wilson on a one-year contract following his departure from Newcastle last month. The 33-year-old was a free agent after being unable to agree a new deal at Newcastle, where he scored 49 goals in 130 appearances across all competitions in five seasons.
