Australia sweep T20 series against West Indies
Mitchell Owen top-scored for Australia with 37 off 17 balls, while Cameron Green (32), Tim David (30) and Aaron Hardie (28 nout out) all made valuable contributions as the visitors reached their target of 171 with 18 balls to spare.
The win sealed the first T20 series sweep by an Australian men's team in the West Indies, and saw them end the tour with a perfect 8-0 record after a similar sweep in the three-Test series.
'I didn't expect 5-0 at the start of the series,' Australia captain Mitchell Marsh said. 'But we played some great cricket. It was something we spoke about after the fourth game.
'We knew no Australian team had completed a clean sweep. We've had guys come in and played different roles for us.'
The match featured 15 sixes, which Marsh attributed to the size of the venue.
'I think it's a small ground, so there's always going to be more sixes than normal,' he said.
'But I think if you look down our batting order in all the five games, we had a lot of power and I guess the messaging was just to play their natural game.'
Marsh also lauded the performance of his relatively inexperienced bowlers in the death overs.
'I'm pretty sure in the last four overs, we didn't go for more than 40 or 50 across the five games,' he said.
'It's really hard to do. So I think all of them executed. Nathan Ellis was outstanding, Sean Abbott was brilliant. Ben Dwarshuis hasn't played a lot, did a really good role, and even Xavier Bartlett has grown and grown as a bowler.'
West Indies fans must have feared the worst when Australia won a fifth straight toss and bowled the hosts out for 170, a total they reached thanks in large part to Shimron Hetmyer's knock of 52 off 31 balls.
Dwarshuis picked up Hetmyer's wicket as well as those of openers Brandon King (11) and Shai Hope (9).
'It was a little bit of a slower wicket so we tried to hit the wicket hard and use the slower balls as well,' said Dwarshuis, who was named player of the match.
Australia return home for a limited-overs series against South Africa, while the West Indies play Pakistan in three T20Is and three one-day internationals.

The matches against South Africa will be Australia's first in the format since the retirements of Steven Smith and Glenn Maxwell from one-day cricket. The series between Australia and South Africa will begin with the T20Is, with the first two matches scheduled in Darwin on August 10 and 12, followed by the final game in Cairns on August 16. The ODI series will start on August 19, with the opening match in Cairns, before concluding with two games in Mackay on August 22 and 24. Norris completed 39 of the 70 laps on a single set of hard tyres while Piastri stopped twice and closed a 12-second gap to just 0.6 at the finish, with a nail-biting chase to the chequered flag and a near-collision. George Russell took a distant third, 20 seconds down the road, to complete the Hungaroring podium for Mercedes and take his fifth podium of the season. "I'm dead. I'm dead. It was tough," gasped Norris, who started in third place — with Piastri second — and then went down to fifth after being squeezed at the start. "We weren't really planning on the one-stop but after the first lap it was kind of our only option to get back into things. Brook, Root run riot as England eye stunning win in India decider
LONDON: Harry Brook's dashing century put England on the brink of their latest spectacular run chase in the fifth and deciding Test against India at the Oval on Sunday. England were 317-4 at tea on the fourth day, needing just 57 more runs to reach an imposing target of 374 for a win that would secure a 3-1 series victory. Brook, riding his luck at times, was dismissed for 111 shortly before the interval. His fourth-wicket partnership of 195 in 35 overs with Yorkshire team-mate Joe Root turned the tide after they came together with England 106-3 following the loss of stand-in captain Ollie Pope. Root, the world's top-ranked Test batsman, was 98 not out at tea. No side have made more to win in the fourth innings of a Test at the Oval than England's 263 in a one-wicket victory over Australia in 1902. But aggressive batting has been a cornerstone of England's approach to Test cricket since captain Ben Stokes, ruled out of this match with a shoulder injury, and coach Brendon McCullum joined forces in 2022. And England are now on course to finish this series as they started it. They made 371 – the 10th highest successful fourth-innings run chase in Test history – for a five-wicket win in the first Test at Headingley in June. Brook's innings ended in appropriately spectacular fashion when, going for another big hit off Deep, his bat flew out of his hands. As the blade soared towards square leg, the ball looped to mid-off where Siraj held the catch. Root, however, ensured the runs kept coming with a typically elegant straight-driven four off Siraj taking him to within sight of his 39th Test hundred. England resumed Sunday on 50-1 after Siraj yorked Zak Crawley with the last ball of Saturday's play. Ben Duckett, 34 not out overnight, fell for 54 after edging an intended drive off Krishna to KL Rahul at second slip before Pope was plumb lbw for 27 to Siraj.
