Egypt aims for 30mln tourists annually as U Hotels expands in Alexandria
This ambitious goal is being pursued through strategic expansions in hotel capacity across the country's cities and governorates.
As part of these efforts, U Hotels Management and Tourism Development has inaugurated its latest property, XU San Stefano, a luxury beachfront hotel in Alexandria's prestigious San Stefano district. The first phase of the hotel includes 40 suites, complemented by premium amenities such as the Al Fayrouz Restaurant, a modern reception area, a coffee shop, and a private 100-meter stretch of Mediterranean coastline.
Ehab El Gendy, Chairperson of U Tourism Development and Vice Chairperson of Marseilia Beach, highlighted that XU San Stefano is designed to offer a high-end hospitality experience with diverse accommodation options. He also revealed plans to expand the hotel's capacity by 50%, adding 40 more rooms within the next six months.
El Gendy emphasized that the opening of XU San Stefano reinforces Alexandria's position on Egypt's tourism development map, further establishing the city as a prime Mediterranean destination.

The Activities Even though the villa was heaven, we couldn't resist exploring a little, so we tried the Polaris dune buggy experience. Picture flying over huge golden dunes with the wind in your face, it was thrilling, wild and an unforgettable way to explore the desert. If that kind of adrenaline rush doesn't seem like something you'd fancy, there are lots of activity options to choose from that are a little bit slower paced, like camel trekking, horseriding, or archery. For the night owls, these activities can be done under the cover of darkness too. To balance things out, we booked a couples massage at the Anantara Spa, and let's just say: bliss. The spa has a serene spot in the resort, and from the moment we walked in, everything slowed down. The treatment room is looking directly onto the dunes too, so you can stare out and drift into a desert-induced daydream. European Union member states approved the launch of negotiations with six Gulf countries as the bloc seeks to broaden its international partnerships, Bloomberg reported. European affairs ministers gave the green light to the opening of talks aimed at concluding bilateral Strategic Partnership Agreements with Gulf Cooperation Council countries, during a meeting in Brussels on Friday.
