'I've brought out my favourite spring perfume now the warm weather is back'
Spring is here and I've now experienced the first evening I don't need a coat or jacket when leaving the house, which means it's time to swap out my perfume for something a little more weather appropriate.
In the cooler months the first thing I reach for is a warm vanilla like Noyz Unmute, which is $85 and once available at Harrods but now quite difficult to find in the UK, or the original Eilish by Billie Eilish which starts at a much more affordable £35.
But as soon as the weather heats up I'm shoving them aside for lighter scents that I daresay are even sweeter. I love a touch of floral dancing around a juicy and fruity gourmand when the weather's hot and for me Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar by Kayali does that perfectly.
It's a blend of very sweet notes like marshmallow, bubble gum, jellybean and sugar alongside violet leaves jasmine and even cashmere wood. The result is something moreish and seductive. I get constantly told 'you smell incredible' when I wear this, especially when paired with Coco & Eve's Glow Figure Whipped Body Cream in Dragonfruit and Lychee. At £24 a pot it's not cheap so I do reach for this more when I'm pampering myself or going out with friends.
I have well over 100 perfumes in my personal collection, which makes it difficult to make a dent in bottles majority of the time but I'm flying through my Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar and will likely run out before summer. The longevity is great although I do like to spritz it on a few times of an evening.
To this day my cousin asks me about this perfume and rushed out to our local shopping centre to try and recreate it herself. It's light, juicy, sweet and fresh all at the same time. I'm a huge fan of Kayali but I think this may be their best scent yet.
It's not just me who loves it, there are over 900 five-star reviews on Sephora's website. One shopper said: "Ever since I purchased this perfume, I've had multiple people stop me during the day at work or when I'm shopping or even just walking in the street they'll ask me what I'm wearing and they'll say that I smell very good this perfume is fantastic. I would buy it 100 times again."
A second wrote: "Bright, sugary goodness but she dries down in a classy, woody vanilla way. Somehow nostalgic for something from my late 90s-early 2000s childhood. I've been hunting for my signature scent for ages and got her last week, and this is it. I bought the 100ml last week but just bought the 10ml mini bottle to keep in my bag for refreshing on the go. We need this in a lotion, body spray, everything!"
A third said: "I got the travel size of this scent because I love the Yum Pistachio Gelato perfume, and this rivals for my new favourite!! When it dries down it smells so much like bubble-gum in the best way possible and lasts all day."
It is worth noting that this is a very sweet scent and probably not a good idea if you avoid sweet perfumes or find them sickly. Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar by Kayali is available for £73 when buying a 50ml bottle.

Suki and Eve's marriage implodes in early EastEnders BBC iPlayer release
Eve and Suki's marriage is on the line (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) This article contains spoilers for tonight's episode of EastEnders, which airs at 7.30pm on BBC One or can be streamed now on iPlayer. Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) and wife Eve (Heather Peace) have come to blows over a plan to take custody of Avani Nandra-Hart's (Aaliyah James) unborn child. As viewers know, Avani confided in best mate Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) that she thought she could be pregnant with twisted Joel Marshall's (Max Murray) baby. Her worst fears were realised when a test gave a positive result. Adamant that she wanted an abortion, Suki dropped a huge bombshell and proposed raise the child as her own. This was without addressing the situation with Eve first. When the idea was raised, Eve remained insistent that she never wanted children of her own, partly down to her mother's homophobic comments in her youth that made her believe that she wouldn't be a good mother. Suki urged her to put those concerns to one side, and just as she warmed to the idea, Avani burst in and assumed she'd agreed. Avani discovered she was pregnant (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Suki overstepped, telling Eve she reminded her of wicked ex-husband Nish (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) In today's instalment, Eve was under the belief that Avani had purposely got pregnant in order to provide a child for Suki. She was furious at the thought of being deceived, and struggled to find a way to explain it. As tensions began to rise, she branded the behaviour as abuse. Suki was incredulous to see her wife escalating the row, comparing her attitude to wicked ex-husband Nish (Navin Chowdhry). With no resolution being found, Suki boldly announced that she would raise the baby on her own. After all, Avani was her family, not Eve's. A devastated Eve then headed to the pub to drown her sorrows, and a heart to heart with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner). At one point, she considered telling Avani's parents Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) about the unfolding situation, but decided instead to go home and face Suki. Avani staged an intervention, with Suki offering a heartfelt apology. But what will Eve do next? You'll have to tune in tonight to find out, or stream now on iPlayer! EastEnders fans demand character is axed over bizarre new storyline
EASTENDERS fans are demanding the axe falls on Suki Panesar after a bizarre new storyline. The businesswoman - who is played by actress Balvinder Sopal in the BBC soap - discovered her step-grandaughter Avani was pregnant earlier this month. 2 2 It came after Avani slept with abusive incel Joel Marshall in the controversial storyline. But things took a dark twist recently when Avani decided to have a termination and Suki tried to stop her. And in a further bizarre twist, Suki, a mother of four already, decided she was desperate for another baby - specifically Avani's. She has convinced Avani to have the baby and give it to her and wife Eve to raise it. However, Eve doesn't know of Suki's plan and has not yet even agreed to change her mind about having children. The entire storyline has seen viewers turn on Suki and call for her to be axed. One wrote: 'Suki is just so vile right now. 'The worst she's ever been, which is such a terrible shame after she's been so excellent for the last few years. 'I was such a huge Suki stan until literally this last fortnight.' A second said: '[EastEnders] is ruining Suki. I'd rather her be axed now than see this continue. So grim.' EastEnders reveals New Year's Day bloodbath survivors - and who DIES Another added: 'You cannot defend Suki and say that her behaviour is 'in character' or a 'trauma response' when it's actually just bad writing and controversy for controversy's sake.' A fourth commented: 'Years of character development erased in a fortnight. Time for Suki to go.' Darkest soap storylines Over the years the likes of EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street have all tried to try outdo each other with their outlandish plots in a bid to keep us tuning in each week. But here are some of the darkest that had fans in shock... EastEnders: Tony grooming Whitney (2008-2009) - Tony King first appeared in Albert Square in 2008 as the boyfriend of Bianca, played by Patsy Palmer. But it was quickly revealed he was a paedophile who had been grooming vulnerable Whitney, Bianca's adopted stepdaughter from a previous relationship, since she was 12. The shocking storyline attracted more than 200 complaints within a week of it beginning. Whitney waited until her 16th birthday to reveal the truth to a horrified Bianca, who called the police. Emmerdale: Holly's drug addiction and shock death (2010-2016) - In 2010, Holly Barton (played by Sophie Powles) became Emmerdale's first teenage drug addict. The shocking storyline saw her taking cocaine on a night out before developing a deadly heroin habit. Parents John and Moira desperately tried to help get their daughter clean but when Holly returned in 2016, following a four-year absence, she quickly relapsed. Fans were left stunned and heartbroken when distraught Moira found Holly dead in her bed from a heroin overdose. Hollyoaks: Luke's rape (2000) - Actor Gary Lucy was just 17 when he took on this groundbreaking storyline, which saw his character Luke Morgan become soap's first male rape victim. Luke had endured a long-running bullying campaign by football rival Mark Gibbs - who raped him after Luke stood up to him. Luke was left suicidal following the brutal attack, before opening up to his brother Adam. Gibbs was sentenced to eight years in prison. Gary won the Best Actor gong at the British Soap Awards in 2000 for his performance. Coronation Street: Evil Richard Hillman (2001-2003) - Just a mere mention of 'Richard Hillman' is enough to send a shiver down the spines of soap fans. He is often ranked one of the most evil soap villains and it's not hard to see why. The smooth-talking financial adviser bashed his ex-wife Patricia over the head with a shovel. In a bid to keep his mother-in-law Audrey quiet, he set fire to her house. And when Maxine caught him trying to murder Emily Bishop, he took a crowbar to her head. He made his exit from the cobbles in 2003 when he drove Gail Platt, played by Helen Worth, and her family into the canal. They survived, but he didn't.

Billie Eilish faces backlash for telling audience 'everybody looks like me'
Billie Eilish comments to the crowd at her concert in Ireland on July 26 have sparked controversy. The popstar recently wrapped up the UK and European leg of her giant Hit Me Hard And Soft Tour, where she played at Dublin's 3Arena for the final two shows. Between songs, the Happier Than Ever singer said to the crowd: 'Obviously, I am not from here, but it's really cool to come somewhere and everybody looks exactly like you, and you're all just as pasty as me.' She continued: 'I love it. It just makes me feel so seen. Also, a thousand of my relatives are in the crowd right now, I'm pretty sure.' The crowd roared their approval, and Eilish ended the sentiment by saying, 'I love it here – it's so beautiful and you are all so beautiful and I see so many familiar faces out there.' For many Irish fans, the moment felt like a tender nod to shared roots as Eilish has previously spoken about her Irish and Scottish ancestry. But online, her words sparked a flurry of criticism, with some social media users accusing her of insensitivity or 'casual racism,' arguing that 'everybody looks like me' is a dangerous generalization, even if said with affection. Supporters quickly defended her, with one X user, @sabwarrioranu, writing: 'She's made jokes about being pale before btw. She was just trying to express how nice it feels to be around where your family comes from that's all so give her a break. I swear Billie gets dragged for the dumbest stuff.' @bittersuite agreed: 'Spinning this into anything other than someone openly of irish descent complimenting & connecting with the fans of the same descent is strange for you to do. i can never count on men for critical thinking though i guess.' Billie Eilish celebrates return to Irish homeland. "It's really cool to come somewhere and everyone looks exactly like you". — Gearóid Murphy (@gearoidmurphy_) July 28, 2025 While the Dublin shows marked the end of her European dates, earlier performances in Manchester had fans buzzing for a different reason. On July 19, during one of four nights at Co-op Live Arena, Eilish revealed she was working on a secretive project with none other than Avatar and Titanic director James Cameron. Noting the unusual number of cameras positioned around the arena, she teased the crowd, saying, 'You may have noticed there's more cameras than usual up here. I can't say much, but I am working on something really, really special with James Cameron. And it's going to be in 3D.' Cameron, famous for revolutionizing film with technological innovation, was reportedly seen at one of the Manchester shows, adding fuel to the speculation. Eilish hinted she had worn the same outfit for all four nights to maintain continuity for the camera crew – a sign that the footage is being compiled into a larger narrative project. More Trending All this comes on the back of Hit Me Hard and Soft, released in May 2025 to critical acclaim and commercial success. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, with over 339,000 units in its first week, and songs like Lunch, Chihiro, and Birds of a Feather have already become iconic. The Dublin shows were the final stop in Europe; she heads to Japan in August, then North America in the fall, with the tour wrapping up in November. Got a story?
