This cruise line has launched a completely nude cruise – and bookings are open now for 2026
The Big Nude Boat trip is run by nudist travel company Bare Necessities aboard Norwegian 's 2,300-person capacity Norwegian Pearl.
Body-confident cruisers departed from Miami on 3 February for an 11-day sailing that promises to take passengers back to 'bare-dise' with visits to Norwegian's private island on the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, as well as St Lucia and St Maarten.
Bare Necessities said it aims to 'break down the barriers against social nudity and make clothing-optional vacationing a viable and acceptable option.'
Onboard activities include a passenger talent show and LED parties, plus Norwegian Pearl has its own bowling alley, rock climbing wall, 16 dining options and 14 bars, including a whisky lounge.
There are some rules to follow though.
Passengers can be nude in public areas, such as the buffet and on-deck when the ship is at sea or anchored in a port (unless told not to).
But they must be dressed when the ship is docked in port, including on balconies, until the ship leaves and an announcement is made that nudity is again permissible.
Clothing is always required for meals in the dining rooms.
When sitting, passengers must be on a towel at all times while nude, and there are no photo zones around the pools and in dance venues.
Fondling and inappropriate touching is also strictly prohibited.
Bookings are already open for the 2026 sailing, also aboard Norwegian Pearl.
Departing from Miami on 9 February for an 11-day roundtrip, the sailing will visit the ABC islands – Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao – as well as Jamaica and Great Stirrup Cay.
Pricing starts from $2,000 (£1,600) per person.
Bare Necessities said: 'Whether you're a naturist veteran or new to nude recreation, this cruise provides an unmatched opportunity to embrace a clothes-free lifestyle in a fun, varied, and accepting environment.'
There are other cruise options for keen nudists.
Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas in February and November 2026, and one on Celebrity Silhouette in April 2026.

A nudist cruise passenger revealed all about what it's like to go on a naked cruise. An 'experienced nudist' explained in a Reddit post how they'd booked on to an infamous Bare Necessities voyage - on which some staterooms cost $3,920 (£2,933). In a post titled 'I just disembarked from a 2,000 person nude cruise. AMA', the nudist of ten years told of their time on the cheeky holiday - and what kind of people they met onboard. In the post, they explained the trip with Bare Necessities was specifically marketed for nudists rather than as a 'lifestyle' cruise, and all of the staff members were clothed. 'Generally speaking, the crowd was older and not particularly attractive. However, there were attractive people too,' they wrote. The traveller added that it was 'very much a 50's-70's crowd'. They noted there were 'some younger people' but these were in the 'minority'. The naturist paid $2,500 (£1,884) for their spot on the Bare Necessities cruise - and described the experience as 'awesome'. Speaking about what the cruise had to offer, they added: 'Great weather and the opportunity to do a bunch of fun things nude (beaches, resorts, dancing, be at bars, etc.).' But health and safety comes first on the ship, with passengers following certain protocols. 'No nudist would place her or his butt on a surface before laying a towel down first,' the traveller explained. They quipped: 'Nudists are as interested in hygiene as much as if not more than the next guy.' As for sun cream, the nudist revealed they packed 'the same amount you usually need, and then a little more.' Despite it being a nudist cruise, clothing was still necessary in some restaurants. The holidaymaker said: 'Some of the restaurants required clothing, but not all did. 'Yes, it's a little strange to be eating naked but you only live once.' The tourist finished by providing insight as to why they were interested in such a trip and their life as a nudist. Explaining how liberating they find the practice, they said: 'The "why" is because it's a nice feeling to be nude, just like it's a nice feeling for a man to be without a shirt at the beach. 'Skinny dipping is great. 'Being nude at some of the world's nicest beaches is great.'

One of the first things he clarified was that it was a cruise for nudists, not a 'lifestyle' cruise. That means public sex was forbidden. While the Bare Necessities cruise and this 67-year-old Reddit poster — who confirmed that the majority of passengers were older — hail from the US, there has been recent debate in the UK about nudity. And it seems people are more relaxed about it than you'd think. 'In the retirement community, there's one theme I hear people talking about all the time,' says Laura. Which is that retirement is historically not seen as an opportunity to reinvent yourself, but more of a settling-down time. 'I think that's changing, and it's becoming way more about reinvention.' And, for people who have had a lifetime of rules and structure, from building a career, raising a family, working hard, and meeting expectations, she says nudist cruises are the perfect antidote: to go and frolick naked on holiday for a week. As for body positivity, she notes that perspective changes on how you see yourself as you age. 'For this group of people starting to retire now, they're finding new ways to free themselves.' 'Name a better way to connect with people and be open and vulnerable than being naked? I can see why it's appealing.'
