Edmonton's only 1-0 overtime playoff victory occurred in 1997 over the the Stars. Vegas has yet to win a postseason game by that score in OT.
The Golden Knights played without captain Mark Stone because of an upper-body injury that caused him to miss most of Game 3 on Saturday. He played in Game 4 on Monday, but was far from at full health.
Neither team scored through the first two periods, and prime scoring chances were at a premium. There were only five high-danger chances, according to Natural Stat Trick, and the Golden Knights had four of them.

But each team had a grade A chance early in the third period. Vegas's Brett Howden whiffed on a tap-in after taking a fantastic pass from Jack Eichel, and shortly after Edmonton's Leon Draistaitl failed to convert on a breakaway. Connor McDavid had a chance on a two-on-one to end the game in regulation but was denied by Hill with 1:06 left.

Series: Edmonton Oilers offseason recap
In this series, we take a look at each team and see what they've done over the offseason. Next up is the Edmonton Oilers Key additions: Andrew Mangiapane, Isaac Howard, Curtis Lazar, Riley Stillman The Oilers have made a couple sneaky additions over the summer with Mangiapane and Howard. Isaac Howard especially is an intriguing pick up. The 2025 Hobey Baker winner in the NCAA could be a top 6 option for McDavid and Draisaitl next year. They also got the Evan Bouchard contract extension done. The big item left on the list whether that happens this summer or next is the Connor McDavid extension, he is now eligible to be resigned. Key subtractions: Connor Brown, Jeff Skinner, Victor Arvidsson, Corey Perry, Derek Ryan, Drake Caggiula, John Klingberg, Travis Dermott The Oilers lost a lot of depth throughout the lineup, but nothing that can't be replaced. They had to make some sacrifices to save up money for some major big ticket extensions for their major core players. Highest draft pick: Tommy Lafreniere, 83rd overall Salary cap space: $225k Staff: The Oilers staff will look a bit different next season as former assistant Glen Gulutzan was hired by the Stars and they fired their goalie coach. Current head coach Kris Knoblauch took over early on in the 23-24 season and has took the club to consecutive bridesmaid Cup appearances. GM Stan Bowman will be heading into his 2nd year with the team after being reinstated by the NHL last offseason. Other: The future of Darnell Nurse with the club continues to be murky. Exit ‘Fire,' Enter ‘Angel'
UFC Vegas 108 continues to undergo last-second changes. A planned Featherweight clash between blue chip prospect Austin Bashi and Contenders Series veteran Francis Marshall has been scratched after 'Fire' Marshall withdrew. Filling in for Marshall will be John Yannis (9-2), Featherweight champion of the Fury FC promotion. Yannis has won three straight fights all via knockout ahead of his UFC debut. Odds are against the Texan, however, as Bashi is widely regarded as a top-notch prospect at 23 years of age. A slick wrestler and grappler, Bashi will be looking to rebound from the first loss of his professional career opposite noted prospect hunter Christian Rodriguez. It's a tall task on short-notice, but hopefully we'll learn something about 'Angel' in the process. Scheduled for this weekend (Sat., Aug. 2, 2025), UFC Vegas 108 already lost its main event on Monday morning when Amir Albazi was forced to withdraw from his scheduled clash opposite Tatsuro Taira. Fortunately, a replacement was found Just a few hours later in undefeated Hyun Sung Park, a promising striker who was pulled from a later match up opposite Steve Erceg. Just a few hours after the revised main event was announced, vicious Middleweight knockout artist Azamat Bekoev was bumped off the card entirely. Despite all the last-second changes, the event is still scheduled to have 12 bouts, though fight fans may notice a distinct lack in star power. Such is life in the UFC Apex.
