Liverpool left-back Beck joins Derby on loan
It is the 22-year-old's second loan move to a Championship club in as many years, having spent last season at Blackburn Rovers.
Beck, who has also had previous spells at Dundee in the Scottish Premiership and Bolton in League One, joined Liverpool's youth set-up from Stoke City at Under-13 level and made his first-team debut for the Reds in the EFL Cup in October 2021.
The former Wales Under-21 international made a solitary Premier League appearance for Liverpool off the bench in January 2024, but has not featured for the first team since.
He becomes Derby's sixth summer addition and third to have played under Rams head coach John Eustace at Blackburn last season, with forward Andreas Weimann and centre-back Danny Batth both arriving on free transfers.
Before Beck's arrival was confirmed, Eustace described him as "one of the most exciting full-backs in the country for his age at the moment".
"He is a really exciting young player," Eustace told BBC Radio Derby. "There is a lot to improve and our job is to help develop him.
"My job, and that of all the coaches, is that whenever a player comes to the football club, no matter how old or how young they are, they come into an environment where they are going to improve and get better."

David Ornstein has reported for The Athletic that Ederson is set to remain at Manchester City for next season. Furthermore, Ornstein reports that Stefan Ortega is expected to leave City this summer. David Ornstein also reports that James Trafford will re-sign for City in a £27 million deal from Burnley. The young goalkeeper will also sign a 5 year contract with the club. Trafford's deal will also include an option of a one-year extension. What is clear is that James Trafford isn't returning to Manchester City to be a reserve goalkeeper. Trafford is a highly motivated individual who has previously spoken of his goal to become Manchester City's number-one goalkeeper. To accomplish that goal Trafford will have to take Ederson's place as City's first-choice keeper. Trafford is definitely capable of doing exactly that. He has the skill in possession required to start at City and is an exceptional shot stopper. If Trafford can return to City and take Ederson's position it will be cause he has earned it. James Trafford's return could also give Ederson the competition he needs to keep his place. Ideally, James Trafford and Ederson will compete for the starting spot in goal for Manchester City. To keep his spot, Ederson will have to perform at his best to keep the threat of James Trafford taking his position at bay. If the Brazilian international is below his best he will lose his spot to the young English keeper. That's the reality of the competition in goal that exists at Manchester City. But that should spur Ederson on to be at his best next season. Who becomes City's first-choice keeper next season will be a story to monitor throughout the 25/26 season. James Trafford's imminent return to Manchester City is an exciting prospect. He has long appeared destined to one day take the mantle as City's number-one goalkeeper. To do that he will have to take Ederson's place. That's the challenge in front of the English keeper when he returns to the Etihad. The fact that competition to start in goal for City will be so fierce is a positive for Pep Guardiola's side. In a season where City will be bidding to return to the top of the Premier League the entire squad will have to fight it out for places in City's starting eleven. Perhaps the fight for goalkeeping position is the best example of this.

It's not being spoken about much but the reality is that the Reds are going to miss Alexander-Arnold's ability to progress the ball from deep and create chances from the right-flank. Far from it, Liverpool already look like a much better side with a plethora of new arrivals. However, it does appear that Slot is working on a plan to replace Alexander-Arnold's good qualities on the ball with an interesting option at right-back. Despite having Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong, Slot may have another player in mind to use in that position in some games next season and he just trialled this in a pre-season friendly. Early Sunday afternoon, Liverpool played a behind closed doors friendly against Stoke City. The Reds ran away 5-0 winners, with Darwin Nunez scoring a hat-trick. Rio Ngumoha and Federico Chiesa scored the other two goals for Liverpool with Florian Wirtz making his debut. But what was the most interesting part of the game was probably who was used as the right-back in the starting line-up. Instead of Frimpong and Bradley, Slot went with Dominik Szoboszlai. The starting line-up therefore looked like this: Mamardashvili, Szoboszlai, Van Dijk, Gomez, Robertson, Jones, Nyoni, Wirtz, Salah, Nunez, Ngumoha. Arguably, this was the line-up which included the most starters in a game where Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister and Alisson were all absent from. And surprisingly, Szoboszlai got the nod to start as the right-back. The Hungarian didn't disappoint, he was involved in the first two goals from the game. His attempted through ball was only half-cleared for Liverpool's opening goal which allowed Nunez to follow up and score. And Szoboszlai registered the assist for Nunez's second goal with a low-cross. This isn't an entirely new role for the Hungarian. He's played as a right-back for RB Leipzig in the past. The Reds' £60m acquisition from the German side (BBC) once played there against Teutonia in the DFB Pokal. During that game, Szoboszlai played one of his best matches for Leipzig. He registered two assists the match, created seven chances and broke a DFB Pokal record as per Opta. According to Opta, he was the first DFB Pokal player to achieve the following statistics in a single match: So impressive was his performance that his teammate Benjamin Henrichs commented 'Dani Alves' under his Instagram post from the match. That brilliant performance is a taster of what he could do if he were to play in that position. Szoboszlai's best ability is his quality when it comes to making progressive balls from deep - this is something we haven't seen of him too much at Liverpool but it's an area of his game he excelled in at Salzburg and Leipzig and continues to do for the Hungarian national team. It's probably not something we will see often. However, in some games where Slot knows his team are going to control possession, Szoboszlai could be useful in the role, inverting into the middle or staying on the flanks to play that Alexander-Arnold role, which only the Hungarian is capable of playing in this Liverpool team at the moment.
