Samsung One UI 8 beta to bring max boost and new game booster features for gamers
A user known as @GalaxyTechie has recently shared insights about these upcoming features after analysing the Game Booster app's new version 7.0.51.13 within the One UI 8 Beta. Max boost appears to allow the phone to use more power, potentially increasing battery use and heat output to deliver better performance in certain games. Although the exact working of this feature is not yet clear, it signals a focus on enhancing gaming power.

One UI 8's Game Booster will also introduce AI Mute, a function that detects when a game is active and automatically manages sound by muting or adjusting volume as needed. Another addition called Respawn Timer is expected to show a floating countdown on the screen, helping players know when they can rejoin a game. So far, this timer may only support the popular game Honor of Kings.

Further updates include Dash notifications and Super Microphone, both appearing in floating windows during gameplay. Dash notifications will remove alerts once they pass across the screen, reducing distractions. Super Microphone may enable the phone's microphone to be used within a game even if another app is currently using it.
Gamers could also access a voice changer feature to modify their voice in multiplayer sessions, choosing from different voice types like robot or sci-fi horror. The update may support Bluetooth microphones to enhance voice chat quality.

Samsung fixes major Secure Folder bug, hidden apps no longer at risk
If you've ever used a Samsung phone, chances are you've relied on the Secure Folder to store sensitive apps, files, or photos away from prying eyes. It's one of those features you don't think twice about — until something goes wrong. And earlier this year, something did. A flaw in how Samsung's Secure Folder worked meant that someone who had your phone in hand could technically peek into what apps and media you had hidden, even if they couldn't open them. Not ideal. Thankfully, with its latest One UI 8 update, Samsung has patched the issue and improved how Secure Folder behaves under the to a report by the Android Authority, the problem wasn't with the lock or password itself, but rather with how the Secure Folder was set up within Android's system. It was originally built using Android's 'work profile' — a feature meant for separating work apps and data on a phone. While that setup worked in most cases, it created a blind spot. Some parts of Android, particularly Google's Photo Picker and Permission Controller, didn't treat the Secure Folder as a truly private space. That meant they could unintentionally reveal details like which apps were inside or even show certain media files, all without actually unlocking the fix? Reclassifying the Secure Folder to use Android's new 'private' profile system — a feature that arrived with Android 15 and is part of Google's broader Private Space initiative. By doing this, Samsung ensures the folder is properly treated as a secure, isolated environment, even by system-level tools that aren't directly part of One UI. In short, this change makes the Secure Folder truly hidden again, not just locked away, but fully shielded from other parts of the phone unless actively opened by the user. It's worth noting that this extra protection only kicks in when you hide the Secure Folder, not just close it. Hiding it encrypts its contents and stops its apps from running or sending notifications — essentially putting the folder in lockdown. So if you're serious about privacy, make sure to take that extra is still one downside, though. Samsung hasn't yet made the Secure Folder play nicely with third-party launchers like Niagara or Nova Launcher. That's a bit frustrating, especially now that Google has added support for Private Space integration in Android 15. Samsung may bring back S Pen support in future Galaxy Z Fold models
A built-in S Pen might not be off the table for Samsung's future foldables after all. While the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 skipped stylus support — just like the Galaxy Z Fold SE from China — it looks like the company is still working on ways to bring the S Pen back, possibly with a dedicated slot inside the phone. This would be a big move for Samsung's foldable strategy, especially after rumours in recent years suggested the brand was moving away from integrating the stylus in its Z Fold lineup. Now, if a new report is anything to go by, the S Pen story might not be over just to South Korean publication ETNews, Samsung is actively exploring how to integrate the S Pen more seamlessly in future Galaxy Z Fold models. This wouldn't just mean compatibility with the stylus — it could also mean a physical space inside the device to store it, just like in the Galaxy S Ultra phones. That could be a huge deal for users who use the S Pen for productivity and creative tasks, especially on a foldable screen that can double as a context, Samsung added S Pen support to the Galaxy Z Fold series back with the Fold 3. However, due to the fragile nature of foldable displays, the company kept the S Pen as a separate accessory, never offering a built-in slot. It worked, but it wasn't the most convenient solution. Things took a turn in 2024 when the Galaxy Z Fold SE launched without any S Pen support, and the same was the case with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which came out just recently. While Samsung hasn't confirmed anything yet, the ETNews report suggests that improvements in display durability, digitiser tech, and compact battery design might finally allow Samsung to revisit the idea of a stylus slot in a foldable phone. Whether that ends up happening with the next Fold model or takes a bit longer, we'll have to wait and of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung unveiled the phone alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE earlier this month.
