Wolverine Worldwide has upgraded its global headquarters.
The footwear company has wrapped up a 'major renovation' of its HQ in Rockford, Mich. as part of its continued efforts to 'modernize facilities, centralize core business operations, and attract and retain top-tier talent.'

The centerpiece of the project is a top-to-bottom renovation of 40,000-square-feet of space to house the company's two biggest brands, Merrell and Saucony, the latter of which the company recently relocated to Rockford from Boston.
Originally constructed in 1963, the expansive space served as a footwear factory for several decades before transitioning to dedicated office space in the 1990s. Now known as 'The Factory,' it features exposed structures and concrete floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, 224 individual workstations, dedicated product and marketing rooms for each brand, 31 collaboration and meeting rooms, a café, and state-of-art technology for product design, marketing, and global collaboration.
The Factory is the latest improvement to Wolverine Worldwide's 300,000-square-foot global headquarters. Additional on-site amenities for team members include subsidized daycare and early education center for children six-weeks-old to five-years-old; a fitness center including personal training and group classes taught by certified personal trainers; four miles of on-campus hiking and nature trails; an on-site subsidized cafeteria; and dog daycare.
'Our company is driven by a new vision to Make. Every Day. Better. – for our team, customers, consumers, shareholders, and community,' Chris Hufnagel, president and chief executive officer of Wolverine Worldwide, said in a statement. 'We believe that to create amazing, thoughtful, trend-right, innovative products and experiences that improve our consumers' lives and drive growth, we must provide our team members with great environments to work and win together.'
The company noted that this project is supported by a $1 million Michigan Business Development Program grant in collaboration with the Michigan Economic Development Center (MEDC) and The Right Place, Inc.
'Today's investment announcement by Wolverine Worldwide further advances the state's outdoor recreation industry heritage,' Matt McCauley, senior vice president of regional development at the MEDC. 'This announcement further proves Team Michigan's successful execution of the 'Make it in Michigan' economic development strategy focusing on People, Places and Projects. The company could have chosen to expand anywhere in the country, or world for that matter, and we remain thankful for their commitment to Michigan and the talented workforce in West Michigan.'
This renovation comes after Wolverine Worldwide opened a new global Innovation Hub in Boston last October. The hub, located in the west end of Boston, houses employees from the company's design and product teams, including Saucony product team members in design, development, product management and merchandising.
Wolverine Worldwide also opened new office space in Zhuhai, China, and a workspace in Hong Kong last year. What's more, the company's Sweaty Betty brand relocated to new offices last summer following renovations to the company's King's Place office in London.
This also comes as the company's Saucony and Merrell brands both posted double-digit growth in the first quarter.
The Rockford, Mich.-based footwear company said total revenue in the first quarter of 2025 was $412.3 million, up 4.4 percent from $394.9 million the same time last year. Ongoing total revenue in Q1 – which excludes the results of the Sperry business, which was sold in January 2024 – was also $412.3 million, an increase of 5.5 percent from $390.8 million the prior year period.
Looking ahead, the company said it expects to see 'continued momentum' as it moves into the second quarter. Revenue in Q2 is expected to be approximately $440 million to $450 million, representing growth of approximately 3.7 percent to 6.0 percent compared to the second quarter of 2024.

Trump posted on his social media site Monday that Japan wasn't buying enough rice from the U.S. 'They won't take our RICE, and yet they have a massive rice shortage,' the president wrote, adding that a letter to Japan was coming. Also on Monday, National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett told reporters at the White House that Trump 'is going to finalize the frameworks we negotiated with a whole bunch of countries after the weekend.' The Bank of Japan, which has kept interest rates extremely low for years to encourage growth, is expected to continue to raise interest rates, but some analysts expect that to wait until next year. The central bank raised its benchmark rate to 0.5% from 0.1% at the start of this year and has maintained that rate. The next Bank of Japan monetary policy board meeting is at the end of this month. The tankan findings work as important data in weighing a decision. The weak yen has raised the cost of materials for Japan at a time when the U.S. dollar has been trading at around 140 yen, up considerably from about 110 yen five years ago. A weak yen is a boon for Japan's exporters by boosting the value of their earnings when converted into yen. The tankan showed sentiment for large non-manufacturers fell to plus 34 from plus 35. That was better than some forecasts, which projected a deeper decline. The Japanese government reported last week that the nation's unemployment rate in May stood at 2.5%, unchanged from the previous month.

President Donald Trump has made clear that any Republican member of Congress who opposes his sprawling tax-and-spending package dubbed the 'One Big Beautiful Bill' will face his wrath. He launched a campaign to primary Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and suggested he would do the same against Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, before Tillis announced that he wouldn't seek reelection. Now, however, another powerful political kingmaker has vowed to challenge any Republican who supports the bill. 'Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame!' tech billionaire and former close ally of Trump Elon Musk posted on X. 'And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.' Musk spent more than $250 million to help elect Trump in 2024 but said in May that he had 'done enough' and was going to do 'a lot less in the future.' He added at the time, however, 'if I see a reason to do political spending in the future, I will do it.' Musk posted his warning, among many posts on the topic, on Monday night as Senators continued to vote on a series of amendments to the megabill, which estimates say will add trillions to the national deficit and lead to cuts to Medicaid. Reigniting a once-regretted feud with the President and Republicans that exploded after Musk left a temporary government role in the Administration in May, Musk reiterated a prior idea he'd floated of starting a new political party. 'It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!!' he posted on X. 'Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people.' In another post, he said that if the bill actually passes, the 'America Party will be formed the next day' to provide 'an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a VOICE.' When former Rep. Justin Amash, who left the Republican Party in 2019 and opted not to run for reelection in 2020 amid criticisms of Trump, asked Musk to support his friend and fellow libertarian-minded conservative Massie, whom Trump has set his sights on ousting from the House, Musk responded 'I will.' 'The establishment is working to primary him because he's a genuine fiscal conservative and opposes the Big, Bloated Scam,' Amash said of Massie. Trump took to his own Truth Social platform Monday night to lash out at Musk, suggesting that the wealthiest man in the world, who is also the CEO of electric-car company Tesla and space-technology company SpaceX, is self-interested. Musk reposted on Monday a post by Tillis, the Republican Senator who announced on Sunday that he planned to retire at the end of his term and would be free from expected deference to party leaders, which backed Musk. 'Folks, @ElonMusk is 100% right, and he understands this issue better than anyone,' Tillis posted. 'We should take his warnings seriously. We can't let Communist China become the long-term winner.' Still, Musk insisted that his main focus is the national deficit. 'All I'm asking is that we don't bankrupt America,' he posted as Senators continued to vote on amendments early Tuesday. The White House has maintained that the bill 'actually reduces the debt burden on future generations,' claiming that it 'will unleash robust, real economic growth and restore fiscal sanity in America.' But a new estimate from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released on Sunday showed that the Senate version of the bill would add nearly $3.3 trillion to the deficit over a decade.
