Thug told man ‘go to sleep, you c***' before stamping on him with fake leg – leaving victim needing round-the-clock care
Shannon Meaney called 57-year-old John Lowe over to him in a park in Salford before placing him in a headlock and shoving him to the ground.

The 34-year-old then began violently kicking and stamping on the victim - using his prosthetic leg to inflict the blows.
At one point he asked a man with him to pass over a hammer before making the chilling remark.
John was later found dumped at the side of a path and struggling to breathe following the February 2023 attack.
A shocking photo shows the dad hooked up to tubes in his hospital bed after suffering a traumatic brain injury.
John now requires 24/7 support as a result of the savage assault and has been forced to move to a care home.
His daughter said: "He cannot talk, eat, sleep, get dressed without help, he has no chance of getting better or getting his memory back.
"My dad will never recover from his injuries and continue a normal life. He is just the shell of a man - he is like a stranger to me. His life was taken from him.'
Meaney was today jailed for life with a minimum of 13-and-a-half years after he pleaded guilty to assault.
Sentencing, Recorder of Manchester, Judge Nicholas Dean KC said: 'You have condemned Mr Lowe to a living death. His own daughter said he has zero quality of life.
"That is what you condemned him to - and for what reason?'
Manchester Crown Court was told former fitness instructor Meaney had been the victim of an assault in 2015 which saw him lose his leg following surgery.
He suffered with PTSD and had spiralled into drug addiction.
On Valentine's Day, 2023, he was sat in the park with an acquaintance when saw John.
He told the witness "I'm going to do him in" before launching into the savage attack.
The court heard Meaney believed John had given his dad some tablets, which had caused him to fall ill.
A "red mist" then descended as he began battering the victim in "revenge", it was said.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Higginson from our Serious Crime Division said; 'Throughout this incident is a man and his loved ones who are having to come to terms with the consequences of this vicious attack which nearly cost John his life.
'Since we took on this case, we have faced challenges and setbacks but have remained resilient in securing the best possible outcome.
'We were determined to do everything possible to ensure Meaney has to face the consequences of his actions knowing the impact they have had on John's life.
"I would like to commend John's family for their bravery, and the support they have given the investigation, especially his daughter, who has made clear the severe challenges they are continuing to try to overcome.'

Former Selby councillor killed on stretch of road he had long campaigned to make safer
Tributes have been paid to a former councillor and trade unionist who's died in a road accident near Selby - in an area he'd long campaigned to make safer. 81-year-old John Duggan was killed when his car collided with a skip lorry as he was joining the A19 from York Road at Riccall on 1st August. Mr Duggan, a former Selby district and North Yorkshire county councillor was taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries but was pronounced dead a short time later. He'd campaigned for many years for safety improvements on that stretch of the road. The labour leader of North Yorkshire council, councillor Steve Shaw-Wright had served with Mr Duggan on Selby district council. "He campaigned for the roundabout to get access and ingress from Riccall for a long, long time, it's tragically ironic that that was the place where he lost his life. "John was one who would campaign for what he believed to be right for his community, whether that was within the bounds of his political group or outside, John was very determined to support what people needed in his community." Councillor Stephanie Duckett described her former colleague as being 'larger than life'. "Once you met John, you didn't forget him. He really loved Riccall and worked very, very hard to get everything he could for the village. He was also a private family man whop doted on his wife and family. He was loved and will be missed by a lot of people". Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following the fatal collision which occurred at around 10.30am. Mr Duggan's black Nissan Juke collided with a white DAF skip lorry. The driver, a 42-year-old man from York, was arrested at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries. The road was closed for several hours to allow officers to investigate the scene, and the vehicles involved to be safely recovered.

Emmerdale cruel John Sugden twist 'foreshadows' final showdown with Robert
Emmerdale's latest episode saw John Sugden's cruel plan to keep Robert Sugden on side revealed to viewers, and with that it may have teased a final showdown for the brothers There was a worrying scene on Emmerdale on Friday night that saw John Sugden seemingly plot revenge on his brother Robert Sugden. Despite them appearing to clear the air, or at least come to an agreement, John's true agenda was revealed to fans. This week John was left in hospital after Robert attacked him during a tense showdown. Robert had no idea though that John was recording the moment he struck him at the back of the head with a spanner. Viewers learned this on Friday, when the end of the episode showed John watching it back on his laptop. It comes amid fans believing Robert's own real plan was given away in the episode, and he might not be playing nicely has he's claimed. We'd already seen John feign fear over Robert visiting him, before Robert practically begged his villainous brother for forgiveness. John threatened him, telling him that if he went back on his word in regards to dropping his vendetta as well as leaving Aaron Dingle alone, he "knew" what he would do. Robert obviously didn't know that John had set up the attack after goading him, leading him to his camper van where a camera was recording. In the footage we only see the moment John walks towards home and is struck by Robert with the tool. John falls to the ground as Robert watches on. It likely also caught the moment Robert wiped the tool and hid it, but even the attack alone is enough for John to get Robert locked up given the crime he spent six years in prison for. Fans had actually noticed the mirroring of events, as in 2019 Robert attacked Lee Posner in similar circumstances. Robert had confronted Lee after he raped his sister Victoria Sugden, and Lee goaded him until Robert snapped. John orchestrated Robert's latest crime, and now he has him exactly where he needs him. But John is ready and waiting for his brother to turn on him again, keeping hold of the video evidence to use if necessary to get rid of Robert. But could it all be foreshadowing a major showdown? Maybe the current battle between the brothers is just the beginning and a taster of John's comeuppance at the hands of Robert. Robert more than any other characters is well and truly onto John and his dark crimes. If he manages to find the proof and expose him, John will hopefully face his downfall and be punished for his actions, including the murder of Nate Robinson. So will it come down to another John vs Robert battle at the end, and was the attack and John's actions, with John threatening revenge if Robert goes against him, all a massive hint of what's ahead? If so, it could be a major tease that the storyline will conclude with Robert taking John down as fans are hoping for, and John's final attempts to come out on top. Girl who lost toes after lawnmower ran over her foot settles action for €415k
A young girl who suffered a degloving injury and lost two toes after a lawnmower ran over her foot has settled a High Court action for €415,000. Rachel McElhinney was only three years of age when the accident happened while she was visiting a house in her area. Advertisement It was claimed that as a result of the accident, the young girl's left foot was four shoe sizes smaller than her right foot. Her counsel, Richard Lyons SC, told the court the little girl suffered a devastating injury. He said her left foot had been run over by a lawnmower, and she lost her big toe and another toe. She was given morphine at a local health centre and transferred to a Dublin hospital, where she spent six weeks. Counsel said she had to have four surgeries under general anaesthetic, and it was very traumatic for her. Advertisement He said in relation to the 2013 accident, it was contended by the other side that the child came out of nowhere. Rachel McElhinney, now aged 16 years of Dunmore, Falcarragh, Co Donegal, had, through her father Sean McElhinney, sued householders Mary and John Gallagher of Saint Anne's, Drumfin, Falcarragh, Co Donegal over the accident on May 7th, 2013. It was claimed that the lawnmower and rotator blade being operated by Mr Gallagher came into contact with the child's left foot. Ireland 'Psychotic cowardly killer' with 152 previous conv... Read More It was further claimed there was an alleged failure to operate the lawnmower with due care and attention for the safety of persons, including the child and an alleged failure to give any or any adequate warning of the approach of the lawnmower. It was further contended there was an alleged failure to stop, swerve or otherwise manage or control the lawnmower so as to avoid the accident. All of the claims were denied. Approving the settlement, Mr Justice Paul Coffey said it was fair and reasonable, and he conveyed his best wishes to the teenager and her family.
