YSRCP to expose govt's unfulfilled promises
Kurnool: YSR Congress Party's district-level meeting focused on exposing the alliance government's failures and launching the 'Recall Chandrababu Manifesto', accessible via a QR code, to highlight unfulfilled promises. The meeting, held at Lakshmi Kalyana Mandapam in Kurnool on Sunday, was presided over by district president SV Mohan Reddy. Key leaders, including Regional Coordinator Peddi Reddy Ramachandra Reddy and District Observer Gangula Prathap Reddy, attended.
Peddi Reddy and Gangula Prathap Reddy criticised the TDP-JSP alliance for making deceptive pre-election promises, distributing fake bond papers worth Rs 2.4 lakh per household, and failing to deliver on their 'Super Six' guarantees. They accused Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan of responding aggressively to questions about these promises.
SV Mohan Reddy questioned the alliance's credibility, noting that pro-TDP media spread false claims about new industries, while none were established. Former MP Butta Renuka highlighted public regret over the coalition's betrayal, with growing discontent within a year of its tenure.
MLC Madhusudan, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Errabothula Papi Reddy, and several MLAs and former MLAs raised concerns about rising essential commodity prices, increased land registration charges, and deteriorating law and order. The party resolved to conduct constituency-level outreach programmes to inform every household about the alliance's failures and restore public trust, emphasising their commitment to addressing these issues.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With just months left for the Thiruvananthapuram corporation council's term to end, tensions are escalating between the BJP and LDF, as both fronts trade corruption allegations. The corporation's main office has effectively turned into a protest zone, frequently disrupting normal functioning and causing inconvenience to the public. The latest council meeting too was marred by noisy confrontations, with corruption charges dominating the session, leaving little room for meaningful discussion on civic issues. BJP councillors have raised a slew of corruption charges against the ruling LDF, including irregularities in the distribution of laptops for students, the purchase of kitchen bins, and other issues. On the other hand, the LDF has levelled serious accusations against BJP women councillors, including misappropriation of Rs 3 lakh by the Punnakkamughal councillor and bribe collection for distributing application forms for various welfare schemes by the Pappanamcode councillor. On Monday, the corporation's main office witnessed yet another round of protests. A march led by Haritha Karma Sena workers belonging to CITU reached the corporation office, demanding the resignation of the tainted BJP councillors. They also demanded that Haritha Karma Sena workers who were suspended in connection with the incident in the Punnakkamughal ward be reinstated. UDF parliamentary party leader P Padmakumar criticised both the BJP and LDF, stating that the two parties were hurling allegations at each other to divert attention from their own corruption. 'The ruling front has been mired in corruption since it assumed power. Backdoor appointments, anomalies in tax collection, and irregularities in the purchase of kitchen bins and laptops, as well as misappropriation of SC/ST funds, are among the many allegations involving the LDF,' he said. Meanwhile, amidst the allegations against BJP women councillors, the BJP staged a march to the corporation office, highlighting corruption in the LDF-led laptop distribution scheme. 'This LDF-led administration is corrupt and is targeting our councillors to divert attention from their own misdeeds. The allegations against us are baseless. As the Opposition, we don't have access to public funds to misappropriate,' said BJP parliamentary party leader M R Gopan. The LDF has announced plans to intensify protests against BJP councillors accused of corruption at the ward level. LDF parliamentary party leader D R Anil demanded the resignation of the accused councillors. 'The Pappanamcode councillor herself admitted that corruption took place in her ward. This has embarrassed the entire council and betrayed public trust. We will launch a protest to make the public aware of their actions,' he said.

For first time, KRS dam full in June, Karnataka CM offers bagina
MYSURU: In a moment soaked in history, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah offered bagina to the Cauvery at the Krishnaraja Sagara (KRS) Dam at 1.35 pm on Monday. This is the first time ever that the KRS dam, one of the state's lifelines, has reached its Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of 124.80 ft in June itself, since it became operational in 1932. The district administration and Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Ltd officials had put up stunning floral replicas of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and Sir M Visvesvaraya at the entrance of the dam, paying homage to the visionaries behind the reservoir. Women dressed in traditional attire participated in the Poorna Kumbha ritual, even as the red and yellow Karnataka flag fluttered along the dam and at Brindavan Gardens. The CM, along with his cabinet members and officials from Mandya and Mysuru districts, took part in the bagina ceremony. The bagina, a traditional offering of a saree, blouse piece, turmeric, vermilion, bangles, rice, flowers, and fruits, arranged on a bamboo tray, was let into the waters at the dam. Taking on opposition parties, Siddaramaiah said, 'There were 17 years when KRS didn't have water. When we were in power during drought years, they blamed Congress and me personally. But today, nature has answered those lies. This is proof that nature favours truth and hard work making this a historic day.' He asserted that opposition parties BJP and JDS should stop spreading lies and think that people are fools. Siddaramaiah said his government has sanctioned Rs 25,000 crore to irrigation projects which no previous government has done. 'How could such a large sum be allocated if the government was facing a financial crisis as claimed by opposition parties,' he asked. The government gives out Rs 19,000 crore annually as a pumpset subsidy to farmers, he said, stressing that Karnataka is the only state that is strictly adhering to the Fiscal Responsibility Act, while it has been ranked second in GST collection in the country.

KALABURAGI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the success of the Karnataka Government's 'Kaam ki Baat' in his 'Mann ki Baat', said Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and Kalaburagi district in-charge Minister Priyank Kharge. In an 'X' post, Priyank explained the steps taken by the state government in the success story of Kalaburagi rotti, which the PM mentioned in his Mann ki Baat on Sunday. Priyank on 'X' stated that the state government has provided seed funding for branding Kalaburagi Rotti. Around 150 rotti-making machines were provided to Women SHGs and other enthusiastic women at subsidised rates for preparing rottis, while Rs 6.5 lakh has been provided to them through CSR funds. He said assistance is being provided in packing, labelling and branding -- market is being expanded in other states as well -- efforts are being made to explore the possibility of exports. Market has also been created on ecommerce platforms too. The RDPR minister also said, 'The Kalaburagi district administration has been instrumental in providing a good market for the skills of Kalaburagi women and helping them add value. By creating an online market for the rottis, creating a brand for it, and creating a large consumer base, 'Kalaburagi Rotti' has today provided strength to the self-reliant life of women. Because of all these efforts, the importance of Kalaburagi Rotti has reached PM Narendra Modi and he spoke about it in his Mann ki Baat.'
