
Woman run over by her own truck while getting gas: Reports
A woman was run over and killed by her own truck on Sunday, June 15 while she was pumping gas, according to local news stations in Kansas City.
The Kansas City Police Department told local news stations that the incident happened at around 1:42 p.m. local time on Sunday. Police said that a woman driving a Ford F150 stopped at a local gas station to pump fuel.
During that process, and for unknown reasons, the empty truck began to roll backwards out of the parking space. As the truck rolled, the woman tried to reenter the truck through the passenger side, police said.
But, police said the woman could not enter, instead falling to the ground and was run over by the Ford truck, KCTV5 reported.
The woman was then pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.
The Kansas City Police Department did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment on Wednesday, June 18.

ABC News Studios revisited the deaths of the two Delphi, Indiana, girls' in "Capturing Their Killer: The Girls on the High Bridge." Here's a look at how you can watch the new series. The new docuseries is streaming on Hulu. The three-part "Capturing Their Killer: The Girls on the High Bridge," features interviews with the girls' family members, investigators and Allen's defense attorneys. It's also the first time that Allen's wife, Kathy Allen, spoke substantively about the girls' deaths and her husband's prosecution. "I want true justice for Abby and Libby," Kathy Allen said in a two-minute trailer shared with USA TODAY. "But it should not be at the expense of an innocent person." Their bloodied bodies were found the next day. The case lingered unsolved for more than five years before Allen was arrested and charged with murder. Family members say their favorite colors were teal and purple, and ribbons in those colors have been used over the years in remembrance. A memorial service and lantern release for both girls took place in February 2017. Allen was 50 years old at the time of his arrest in 2022. He was an employee of a local CVS store in Delphi. At the heart of the prosecution's case in Richard Allen's trial was whether Allen is the man seen in a video following the girls on the high bridge. Toward the end of the footage, the man told the girls to, "Go down the hill." A jury of five men and seven women found Allen guilty of two counts of murder and two counts of murder while kidnapping the girls after a contentious, weeks-long trial in 2024. Special Judge Frances Gull sentenced Allen to 130 years in prison. Allen, who's appealing his conviction and sentence, was recently moved to an Oklahoma prison.

Colorado State Patrol investigating wrong way crash on Hwy 9, five killed
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a wrong way crash in Grand County on Monday that killed five people and seriously wounded another. According to CSP, A Ford F-150 was driving north on Highway 9 around 7:17 a.m. when, for reasons not yet known, the driver crossed into the southbound lane near milepost 136. The Ford struck a GMC Yukon heading south, and the impact caused both vehicles to catch fire. Authorities said the 25-year-old man driving the F-150 was taken by air ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The 34-year-old man driving the Yukon and his four passengers were all pronounced dead at the scene. CSP said the Grand County Coroner's Office will identify the deceased pending notification of their next of kin. Highway 9 was closed in the area for much of the day while troopers investigated the scene. It was reopened by 2:47 p.m. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash and has not spoken to investigators to contact CSP Dispatch at (970) 249-4392 and reference case number VC25269.

Former NBA player's pregnant wife attacked by shark
A former NBA player's pregnant wife suffered injuries in a shark attack while vacationing in Puerto Rico, according to information from the woman and local authorities. In a post on her Instagram account, sports journalist Eleonora Boi, former New York Knicks forward Danilo Gallinari's wife, wrote she was recovering after being bitten by a shark near the shore of a crowded beach in Carolina. The municipality is in the northeastern part of the U.S. territory, just east of San Juan. Carolina Municipal Police Commissioner Captain Ruben Moyeno confirmed to local media outlet GFR Media that the 39-year-old woman was bit by a shark on July 31. Boi, who is pregnant, was wading in the water when the attack occurred, according to the outlet's Aug. 4 report.
